What do you think of micro-transactions?

With the majority of games now featuring micro transactions within the game, what are everyone's thoughts on them? Do you think that they are a waste of money as you have already paid for the game? Or do you think they can add a lot more to the game.

Personally, I think micro transactions can be a good idea. For example, they're stupidly priced but fifa points are a genius idea and they add a lot to the Ultimate Team mode in Fifa.

I think it is a waste. Cell phone games have little value, so why invest so much in them?
