It would be announced on the 'Special Draft Edition' of Smackdown - that from the following week the schedule of the WWE would look very different. Monday Night RAW would continue as always on a Monday, but see its airing time reduced by one hour and so returning a two-hour format with a supplementary show every Saturday Afternoon of HEAT. NXT would remain to holding a two-hour Tuesday slot, with NXT LVL UP airing the following afternoon for an hour. Smackdown however, would return to Thursday Night and be accompanied by 205 Live on a Friday Afternoon which would a show exclusive to the blue brand. It would also be revealed that on an annual calendar, each individual brand would have exclusive PPVs - but that this change wouldn't come into effect until 2023.
Eric Bischoff would be unveiled as the new General Manager of Monday Night Raw and would take on the role for the first time since 2006. "Easy E" would make it clear that he was taking on the role on an interim basis with the intention of finding a suitable replacement before the end of his contractual agreement with the WWE that would end on the weekend of Wrestlemania 40. Eric would also make a point of sharing his feelings that he didn't think that AEW or the NWA should be seen as competition, and after he was finished such a thought wouldn't even be considered. During the draft itself Bischoff's first ten picks would be as follows:
#1 AJ Styles
#2 Carmelo Hayes & Trick Williams
#3 Judgement Day (Finn Balor & Damian Priest)
#4 Rhea Ripley
#5 The Miz & Tommaso Ciampa
#6 Seth Freakin' Rollins
#7 Hit Row (Ashante 'Thee' Adonis & Top Dolla)
#8 B-Fab
#9 Sasha Banks & Naomi
#10 Karrion Kross & Scarlett
Eric would make it clear that all his draft picks were done with real intention and that he didn't have to follow any rule book because the only person he answered to was himself. Eric would then proceed that AJ Styles had been his number one pick for a reason and so couldn't think of a better person than to represent the brand moving forward and proceed to announce that AJ Styles was the new WWE Champion, but that he wasn't the sort of individual to give easy rides to the top and that on next week's episode of Raw Styles would defend the belt against Finn Balor.
With Gunter and Bobby Lashley finding themselves on Smackdown and Raw respectively, it would be agreed between the GMS of Raw and Smackdown that both men would simply trade titles with this resulting in Bobby Lashley becoming the new United States Champion. Bischoff would proceed to crown his remaining vacant championships with Carmelo Hayes & Trick Williams awarded the Raw Tag Team Champions, Rhea Ripley would be presented with the Divas Championship and Sasha Banks and Naomi would become two-time tag champions as they were made the inaugural Divas Tag Team Champions.
Eric would promise the fans that this new era of Monday Night Raw would help reestablish Monday Nights as 'The Best Night of the Week' in professional wrestling (with it being clear that Eric wasn't going to use the term sport's entertainment anytime soon).
