I really do worry for the future of this planet. I feel like an old man walking around town and seeing what constitutes for a "normal" young teenager these days.

I'm the same. I find it astonishing just how naive people are, it's especially noticeable online. Maybe I just look into shit too much, I've never really been properly 'involved' in any social circles or any of the drama that surrounds them, I just sit there and watch it all and find it oh so predictable.

That's not a world wide issue, that can be fixed easily. Overpopulation can't be too far off, the planet is already too small for the 7 billion+ people we have now.

It's not too small, in fact we have room for plenty more. Just most of the places are uninhabitable (deserts, most of russia etc.)
