Really who's wrestlemania spot is Taker taking really and what did they do to earn that shot, If Taker or Rock want to wrestle at Wrestlemania then fuck anyone who doesn't want them there because both of them wrestle circles around the full timers and pull a way better crowd.

You think Wrestlemania 28 would sell as well as it did without those 2 men no way because the rest of the matches on the crowd were pretty meh there was a shitty 18 second match, a half decent WWE title match and that was it the rest were terrible.

As for his matches being overrated, they simply are. Especially his ones with HHH, people see Taker at Mania and get rose tinted glasses on, but last years match was just a weapons spot fest with plenty of rest breaks between chair shots and this years was nothing special either. The Punk-Bryan and Punk-Jericho matches were far superior.

Oh please...

CM Punk matches are terrible, those matches are what you called overrated... The Undertaker/Triple H Hell in a Cell match so compelling in it's story, possibly the best story I've seen told in years instead of your typical spotfest Hell in a Cell match.

Everyone wanks off Punk like he's the savior of wrestling, this hotshit of a wrestler when it's kinda just above average in the ring. He had maybe two to four good matches, surprisingly all but one against John Cena, the other was against Triple H - Aside from that, has CM Punk really done anything worth noting? Even WWE doesn't think their Over the Limit match was that great.

Don't get me wrong D-Bry is fantastic but the over-all notion that anything was better executed than Hell in a Cell this year was absurd.

First, if the WWE thought they were so packed with very popular talent who knows how to work every bit they can out of a match, then they wouldn't be rehiring all those "good hands" to help develop the in ring talent they currently have. The WWE is in a transition period where they've lost a generation of guys that knew how to work due to age, injury, etc. They have a lot of young guys, athletic and talented, but many are still learning some of the little things needed to get to that next step. I don't think it's purely about any "trigger" so much as the guys that are making the decisions are looking for certain things in their development so they can make the most of a high pressure spot with huge expectations. They have guys with potential, but they don't necessarily have a lot of guys with experience in doing what it is the WWE and that audience wants from them.

And who is "everybody" with regards to stealing spots? I didn't see either Undertaker or Rock being booed out of the building by that massive audience who were supposedly incensed at spots being stolen. Maybe Punk made some noise about it in interviews. And maybe Punk was working all the marks out there and fueling what he hoped would be a main event WM match for the next year. Is it like Hogan and McMahon having a WM match and stealing someone's spot? Seemed like it was one of the more entertaining matches of the night. How about when Bret Hart came back to work a match with Vince? Stolen spot again? Seemed like fans were clamoring for years to have Bret come back for one last curtain call with the WWE. He did it, so I guess he was stealing a spot too.

Whether Undertaker / HHH is overrated, I don't know. That's the nature of wrestling. They promote the hell out of everything bigger and better than what it really is. They want to sell the idea that this is the best thing ever for the simple reason that they are selling a product. But it still told a story. There was psychology behind it. Heaven for bid you have "rest spots" to pace a match or anything. Better yet, I think I'll take the more informed opinion of the general internet crowd that figures slapping "IWC" on as their moniker adds clout over say a wrestler who knew how to work and teaches this stuff, such as Lance Storm, who thought Triple H and Taker from 2 years ago was one of the matches of the night.

But what the heck, it's the internet. Trollolololololol away!

Sheamus-Daniel Bryan had better matches than the Taker-HHH HIAC match, two legends in a match at Mania and people go wild even if its a stinker.

On reflection, I may have enjoyed the HHH/Taker II match more if the Sheamus/Bryan disaster hadn't put a bad taste in my mouth for the rest of the show. I remember saying at the time that I enjoyed the first half of the match for the brutality and incorporating the environment of the Cell. I actually thought it fell apart in the middle once Shawn got involved and the bookers turned the match into a clusterfuck of emotional impulses with no clear motivations. The post-match moment appropriate and kinda cool, but clashed with the tone of everything else. So I just feel weird watching that match. Even if both men brought their games performance-wise, the booking throughout the match was just badly handled imo.

I agree that for quite a few years that it is obvious that Undertaker will win at WM but it still doesn't take anything away from the match in my opinion. It is all about the story told in the ring and if it is good enough it doesn't matter that you know who the winner will be. Undertaker has consistently delivered top matches at WM which makes up for the fact that you know the result before the match starts. He is a big time performer and hasn't had a bad WM match for a long time.

If WWE want to actually make people think that Undertaker will lose then they have to book him against John Cena. He is the only person on the roster that people would believe that WWE may actually book to beat Undertaker because Cena is clearly the top guy. Cena is another wrestler that always delivers on the big stage so it would be a hell of a match and it would make for a great WM mainevent. If Punk or Sheamus were to get the shot it would be a good match but they pose no threat at all, at least even with HBK and HHH there was that tiny bit of doubt that they may actually win. If he is up for two more matches he should face someone like Brock or Rock this year and then next year finish against Cena. If he can only go one more match then easily go with Cena.

I watch wrestling since late of 2009 (I know I'm new but I got a lot of information from the past). One of the reasons I'm sad about it was I couldnt watch HBK, HHH and Undertaker full a lot. One got retired, one got into administration of WWE, one is getting injured and injured each year. I enjoy both Taker and HHH's efw matches in year. Especially Undertaker. He is a legend in everbody's eyes, I like him a lot. He wrestles incredibly in that age and after all these surgeries. I respect for that. Also he doesnt steal anything. Undertaker doesnt have most of the year off because of movies, because of his joy. He does that because he needs it. He wrestles 1 match in a year but that's so much work for him at that age. He is doing a great job. Of course Undertaker wont lose at Wrestlemania after we saw neither HBK or HHH couldnt end the streak. But every single time Undertaker comes to ring, no matter what happens, experience, excitement and joy is in that ring. Last year all of the end of an era promos were great, I enjoyed every single second of it. Hope he will wrestle this year and next year. A Mania without Undertaker is not a great mania in my eyes.

It is going to be so strange when he does finally retire and doesn't wrestle at WM. The last one he missed was WM 16 back in 2000 and that was due to an injury. It has been 12 years since he has missed a Mania and he has become a cornerstone of the PPV. Every year you know that he will be there and that he will deliver a top quality match and his matches have been the standouts at quite a few recent manias. Going to leave a massive gap to fill when he doesn't appear at WM anymore.

I totally agree. Wrestlemania is surely the grandest stage of them all and it still would be after Undertaker is retired but there will be that big gap as you said. Because every single year people wait for the opponent (or victim) of The Undertaker.

I agree with everyone sticking up for Undertaker's matches over the past couple of years. I still consider his work with Triple H and Shawn Michaels over those past 4 years to be a masterpiece in wrestling storytelling. The build up and matches were just perfect. I do disagree with the assumption that the likes of Bryan and Punk don't come close in terms of ring psychology, but I won't go into that.

I'd definitely welcome more Undertaker matches down the road. I doubt he'll have the classics that he's been having over the years, but the novelty of him defending his streak is entertaining enough and should be a pretty good draw in the coming years.

I just assumed that Taker would appear at Mania as always anyway, don't know why HHH thinks this is news.

I did think having a return match from last years show was just lazy (and a Tripper ego boast more than anything), it didn't live up to their Mania 27
meeting, but still the level of Taker's recent matches have been very good. I would like to see a couple more before he does the right thing and retires
and WWE look to the future.

I think it was news because of how many injuries Undertaker has suffered in recent years so you never know if he can come back. Plus what happened after the match between Taker and HHH also feed the flames a bit with regards to that being it for the Undertaker. Each year it is becoming less and less likely that he will be able to back it up so it is news that he will come back for another WM match.

I personally wouldn't say his last match fed the flames, when Undertaker is ready to retire and have his last match we'll have a definitive answer and will be mentioned on TV, no way will they retire a legend of the business in such a quiet fashion like they did at the past Mania.

When the three of them walked up the ramp together and embraced at the top of the ramp it did get people talking more about his retirement then they have in the past few years. I agree that when he does go they will make it clear that he will be going but that ending got people talking about whether he would go on or not.
