First time ever, Chris Jericho vs The Undertaker doesn't sound too shabby neither as a replacement

Agreed. I mentioned this a while back as being the best 'fresh' option for a Taker oponent.

I think they would have a wicked fued.

As for JBL/Michaels.... This will be the best in WWE fued since, well.... HBK/Y2J.

That said, I'm quietly hoping that by WM HBK will still be the reluctant heel... The longer they drag it out the better because obviously HBK will kick back and turn on JBL sooner or later and the longer it goes the more heat JBL will have and the more 'releaved' the fans will be when HBK finally does stand up to him.

Anyone thought that maybe we will still get Taker v HBK afterall... The difference between the Pritchard spoiler being that it will actually revolve around a JBL-motivated HBK being deployed to take out Taker for Bradshaw?

They could go that way Fixx, but there is a possibility all us smeep are overthinking it and the JBL/HBK program will end at RR/NWO and start after then.

I dunno, I think the storyline wouldn't live up to it's potential though with HBK being Bradshaws bitch, unless he goes full fledged heel. I actually think a Shawn heel turn would be pretty neat.

^^^This is what I'm expecting.... And I'm totally into the prospect.

HBK is one of the few guys they have that can actually carry these long fueds both in AND out of the ring whilst JBL has got all the qualities needed to hold down his role.

It also seems to me that WWE have done the virtual impossible and actually stumbled upon a way that they COULD actually turn HBK heel again (i.e. Alligning himself with the man that EVERYONE hates; JBL)... As mentioned some time ago HBK would still get cheered no matter who he attacked etc.

I was wondering at the beginning of this storyline whether HBK could be hated, but you have gotta give him credit, he cut a really convincing promo at Armageddon, it was actually possible to believe he was in financial trouble.

HBK is an awesome heel, hope he gets at least a 4 week run against Taker after NWO or something, like with Hogan

Yeah, as much as the crowd took a while to 'bite', his talking about not being a beaten up has-been wrestling school gyms was wicked!

By the time it was over he was getting good heat and he still hasn't done anything bad/heelish yet.

I'm somewhat easy about the whole Taker/HBK prospect (seriously, will they top HIAC? I doubt it.), but if it's gonna happen it's gotta be this year cos as already suggested they may well be too beaten up to save it for WM26.

The bigger question, at least in my opinion, is whether they can top Michaels vs Flair. But then again, I didn't think Y2J vs HBK could top the match at WM XIX, or that Cena vs HBK would top Wrestlemania 23.

I have a feeling that JBL is the replacement of Kane in the spoiled WrestleMania storyline :shifty:

But seriously, if it's not Shawn vs. The Undertaker then I'd rather see Chris Jericho vs. The Undertaker or Chris Jericho vs. Shawn Michaels. JBL is good on the mic but not inside the ring..

Personally, I don't see the importance of topping the year before. HBK's match is gonna get compared to his match with Flair no matter who he faces. Sometimes you just have to accept that something is THAT damn good (pardon the pun).

Bold of you to predict such a thing when someone else has already voiced the idea!

That said, JBL obviously won't assume the Kane roll... The spoiled storyline played upon Taker & Kane's relationship. It would have to be a completely different storyline.

JBL is good on the mic but not inside the ring.

JBL doesn't need to be dynamite in the ring for this fued. He needs mic skills and a bully-boy, manipulative persona. He has both...

Besides, you seem to be forgetting who he'll eventually face one-on-one?

The ball is in WWEs court.... If they write this fued well it will be thee shit!

That is not bad. We're turning towards the Road to 'Mania and HBK is drifting off towards a storyline with JBL and Kane is doing the same via Kelly Kelly - with who I assume is not Taker.

We're coming dangerously close to posting spoilers in a non-spoiler section here guys... I'm expecting Kaedon to come and kick some ass any time now.

Sooooo many stupid things said in this thread. Let's see if I can cover most of them.

HBK vs JBL could be good, Shawn carried Flair to a ***** match last year,
Shawn carried Ric Flair?! Hah! Do you know WHY that match is considered a five-star bout, or do you just accept what Dave Meltzer tells you? That match was all about the story and the emotion. Flair played just as big a role, if not a bigger one, as Shawn Michaels.

But Shawn can carry just about anybody to a good match.
A "good" match isn't one that belongs at WrestleMania, particularly if it involves Shawn Michaels. The WWE went for a "good" match in Undertaker vs Mark Henry a few years ago and they completely missed the boat. People like Michaels, Taker, Triple H, and Cena should be in GREAT matches.

he cut a really convincing promo at Armageddon, it was actually possible to believe he was in financial trouble
Bullshit. Kayfabe is fun, but we all know that Shawn Michaels receives PLENTY of compensation from the WWE. He will NEVER be another veteran that "hobbles into high school gyms." He could likely go to any independent promotion and get a quick 10k-15k for a single match.

What about Chris Jericho vs. Shawn Michaels?

The feud hasn't been signed off yet. There was that superb ladder match @ No Mercy.
Don't even get me started on that ladder match, which was probably the most overrated match of 2008. The feud is over, which is VERY upsetting, as it easily could have gone to WrestleMania. They rushed the program and ruined the possibility of an epic WrestleMania match.

That covers a good part of it.

A bit of forum ethics please Axis - that way, you are not subjected to your own case of flaming, and instead get a decent argument. Opening your post with "Soooooo many stupid things said in this thread" is inappropriate.

So - the match in England was just a one-off thing?
