Vince gonna Vince, but 90% of Roman character and wrestling was nothing like Cena or I would have hated him.

Ehhh. Maybe a matter of perception. Because I definitely see strong similarities. But that's especially in the booking.

But I think Roman for sure went through phases where they were trying to channel all of Cena, Rock and maybe even Hogan at times. But that's kinda just the WWE approach to top faces.

A lot of the early '98 shows had atrocious main events but I will say in their defense the "main event" was usually an Austin segment. But oh many I bet the worst "main events" in history def take place around that time

I'd say Cena executed his gimmick better though as far as accomplishing the essence they were going for.

That's probably for pacing reasons and what might have happened after that match. It's also a tag title match and I like that belt maining some weeks.
