I also heard that in 1998 Nash was booking it himself. Which honestly kinda left a bad taste in my mouth being that when he beat Goldberg/ended the streak it was basically his idea.

Kevin Sullivan was booking at this time and had legit beef with Benoit, despite the fact this dipshit basically booked his own divorce and lost his old lady to Benoit, and Benoit didn't want the strap. So he books him to win it anyways, so Benoit wins the strap, throws it in the garbage and he, Eddy, Saturn and Deano all quit that very show and were on Raw the very next night.

They were not on Raw the next night, they were on Raw on Jan 31, 2000 which was 2 weeks after Souled Out (Jan 16, 2000). Benoit was stripped of the title on the Nitro after Souled Out and they were released between Jan 17 and Jan 25, 2000. I don't think the official date is out there and I do remember that there was an assumption at the time of a WCW no-compete clause because it was very well known that Vince started doing them after Rick Rude's appearances on ECW, WWF and WCW in a 3 day span (ECW aired on the weekend before the Raw/Nitro simultaneous appearance) and it was assumed WCW did as well.

Eddy dislocated his elbow his first match in WWF doing a frog splash on either The Road Dogg or Mr Ass.

some info for those who either don't remember or weren't around then.
