watching threads!

Alright now I have this problem with the alert system, every time I reply to a thread, the thread gets saved as a watched thread for me and every time someone posts in that thread, I get notified.

Is there anyway I can cancel this, like replying to a thread without it automatically getting saved as a watched thread?

Under preferences there is an option to automatically watch threads you create or reply in, untick that.
