I think they would at least have to honor the current deal, but it also doesn't seem like it involves TV anyway in this deal. But if it did, they wouldn't even need a new home til I think 2027, and that's if they didn't keep them.

I know AEW does better ratings then a lot of other stuff on TNT and TBS. Like I have said losing AEW would be a big blow to my moral. Its my favorite promotion right now. I mean I am thinking if Netflix is NOT buying the networks then we are real good.

No, Netflix isn't. They have no interest in cable networks. All reports indicate Discovery Global is keeping the cable channels. The real question moving forward will be if AEW will stay on HBOMax after that deal is up.

If AEW is making the money for them via PPVs and such, I could see why Netflix would see beneficial to keep them around. As far as I know they are under no obligation to WWE to not air other wrestling on anything they own. They are paying WWE, not the other way around. Will be something interesting to follow.

That's all assuming this deal doesn't get blocked. The WGA and DGA are pissed and calling for it to get blocked.

When Fox sold off theirs to Disney, they basically transitioned to only news and sports content

As much I love AEW that is not on my mind here. What I worried about is the direction of WB/DC once the deal is officially done with all the Details on what is going to happen. Right now DC is in a good spot and now with Netflix as the Owner going forward who knows where they might take the Universe. I never thought their was a chance the next Superman or Supergirl Movie will show us the Netflix Logo before it starts just wow.
