Bea Arthur is more alive than the VIP section. Whens the last time anyone posted anything new there? I bet most of the links to the worthwhile material are dead.

I don't understand why new people immediately think they should be VIP members. Having 68 posts in two weeks doesn't make you an awesome member. Make good, quality posts. Be a long time member.
This is why VIP shouldn't be handed out to just anyone. It should be long time members who have somehow made an impact on the forum. The type who's names wont ever be forgotten in years to come.

I do agree with you on the fact that VIP shouldn't just be handed out like sugar candy on halloween... and that members or even guests should at least contribute one way or another to the fourm or even to other members.
But don't you think that it's a much saying members that names won't be forgottened. just saying is all...
