I also think a commercial free Raw is going to be gay! Too many videos will be shown, not enough matches. Idk, it's a little sketchy to me too.

:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:
Holy fuck, what's better:
-Sitting through a commercial after every segment, and missing most of each match
-Watching a full show uninteruptted, and just putting up with cheap plugs eveny once in a while such as "This segment brought to you by KY Jelly..."

You didn't read the thread, did you?
CMS, your point about Adamle is spot on. I remember people hated it, yet now everyone says they should bring him back.

Adamle was terrible. And yes, I read the thread, and yes Trump is the babyface, but does it matter? The whole thing is stupid imo, besides, I wanted to give my opinion on the angle itself

Do we care about media publicity? No we care about the quality of the show. The angle sucked, don't argue it. Bobby Lashley vs Umaga was NOT Wrestlemania worthy. As for Raw Vince and Trump fighting every week seems pretty shitty to me. Or even worse Trump showing up via satellite every week to make matches happen...

Or Trump might actually show up every week on Raw to really pump into our brains that Trump owns Raw. The only way that would end good is if Orton punted him.

Ahh the angle wasn't that bad. They built some good suspense towards who each side was going to choose as their representative. They made the angle to where the unstoppable force of Bobby Lashley could be in question against the dominant Samoan Bulldozer. Then they put their hair on the line, and even though that was a huge indication for Lashley's win, it was still interesting to see the pompous, condescending McMahon beaten and abuse by Stone Cold, Lashely, and Trump.

Trump's affiliation with WWE provided loads of PPV buys, media publicity, and 2007 was WWE's highest grosing year of all time. So you tell me why the angle sucked so badly.

Trump's only downfall is that he didn't exactly believe the promos he was cutting, thing he will improve in this role.

I for one really love to see my weekly dose of 24 "Burn Notice" commercials.

If this is all leading up to Battle of the Billionaires II at WrestleMania XXVI, I might as well stop watching now. Battle of the Billionaires was by far the worst, non-interesting wrestling storyline in the history of WWE.
combine that with the flair vs vince for the ownership of raw.

its pretty lame but if trump works on his promos and kayfabe buys wrestlers from smackdown or hire old/new superstars.............that may be good.

i hope he gets bischoff back. there's no heel gm..wtf?

I'm sick of seeing Vince on my TV. Still feeling the hangover from the last time Trump was on TV. But then again im sick of watching Raw. It just flat out doesn't appeal to me. The way everything flows is just sick to watch. Sometimes it's the wrestlers, most of the time it's michael cole and the other fraction is how the show is presented. It's no longer for my age group and it hasnt been for a long time. What am i doing here?

I'm aware of what happened following up to and at Wrestlemania 23. You telling me what happened doesn't make it seem any more credible.

Trump had AN affiliation with WWE. He provided SOME PPV buys for Wrestlemania. He has not influenced other ppv's so quit exagerrating Trumps schlong.

The angle sucked because the promos were lame, the match sucked, and nothing I'll remember 10 years down the line happened... So it will always suck. A dieing dog gets media coverage nowadays, it doesn't mean I'll remember it or that the dog "boosted" ratings.

Until Trump does do something memorable for WWE, I'll remain a pessimist on his influence.

2007 was WWE's highest grosing year of all time

What? Where did you hear that? I don't remember WWE making the Fortune 500 lists and Vince making " richest people" lists in 2007.That happened in 2000. The Benoit saga also occurred in 07 and was a flat out media disaster and many people shunned WWE, I seriously doubt 2007 was a banner year, let alone THE HIGHEST GROSSING YEAR in company history while they are in a down cycle. And I doubt Trump had anything to do with it.

Trump as Raw owner is bad. One, you can't have your new "owner" make his first appearance in badly timed TAPED promos. That was just awful, not Mike Adamle bad, but awful. Two, how many times can an important man like Donald Trump actually show up live? He didn't show up live often in the WM build-up, again having taped promos cheapens the thrill and point of having such a lofty name at the position. The GM/Owner is someone who needs to be there live for the majority. 3. Eh, I understand it's a ratings ploy, but how long will this last? The ratings stayed high last go about with Trump because it was WRESTLEMANIA time, the ratings stay higher around Mania every year. The last time the ratings tailed off each week after the first week of Vince's Cash giveaway or whatever that shit was, so how long can Trump's presence keep viewers coming back, especially if he's taping promos for the most part. I just don't see him being a weekly live fixture. It's another quick fix when the answer really lies in long term booking.

I'd much rather the return of either Flair or Bish, but it would have been cool to "sell" Raw to JBL. He is so built for the part of an evil owner, and he has the finances and connections to buy Raw storyline wise.
