This is something that I don't see Vince being 100% okay with. I think he is only okay with it for now like Chris mentions but in the back of his mind, he is still working for a competitor in another country. NJPW is growing more each year and he is helping with this growth big time right now.

I don't watch NJPW but I am a Jericho fan and when he is in WWE, I tend to pay more attention. I am glad he is having a blast out there and doing his thing but I would like to see him return to the WWE and help them out. They clearly need it. lol

Thoughts?

“I know the first match, Omega-Jericho, I called and told him about it and he was all for it. And then when I told him I was going to do more, nothing really negative, still very supportive. But I think now it’s maybe becoming a little bit of a slight not issue but, you know, I mean, it’s another company out there. I know for a fact that Vince takes every company very seriously. Chris Jericho is a very important part of the WWE and a very important part of what’s going on with New Japan right now, with all the subscriptions that are increasing with New Japan World and all of that sort of thing. I still think everything’s cool but I feel if my involvement with New Japan continues I might get a call one of these days. Until then I still enjoy doing it because it is different. It is one of those things where Jericho basically just does what he wants because I’ve built up the reputation and built up that good will and credibility with fans and companies worldwide.”

I can totally see Vince being ok with this. Vince knows what he has with WWE and nobody can touch them, even if they tried.. They're still on great terms and Vince probably told him to have fun and come back when he wants.. New Japan is not starting a war with WWE like TNA tried doing years ago.. They're a lot more easy going now than they use to be.

I do plan on watching Dominion tomorrow, i've only ever seen 1 NJPW show a few months ago, but i'll probably get into watching the big shows.. It might be the best in-ring wrestling out there today.

I mean why would Vince care about what Jericho is doing on his own time, he doesn't work for them anymore so does it really matter what Vince, thought\thinks about Jericho working in NJPW, no it does.

Vince doesnt own Chris.

Agreed.

But also, I don't think Vince is really worried about other promotions. In fact, I would assume he would be happy that NJPW is getting some growth, It would take a long time to become a viable competitor in the United States, but I think he would welcome come competition,

Also, as mentioned above, he is likely secure knowing that no promotion in the world can really compete with him on an equal basis. NJPW is probably the biggest competitor and the most likely to become a true competitor. But that's all conjecture. Even being the second biggest promotion in the world, NJPW is not something Vince would worry about.

But hopefully, it will become something to worry about.

Who quoted that? After almost 20 years I think Vince misses the competition

The quote in the OP is from the interview he did in the twitter post up there. If that is what you are asking about.

Sorry I didn't watch the video. I just never remember Jericho refer to himself in third person in an interview
