Vince back on board, WWE sale coming soon / WWE funeral thread

It’s Britney, bitch
I had a feeling that there was nothing official of yet, because the more I thought about it the more it didn’t make sense to me that it went through so quick, amongst a plethora of other reasons why a deal with a regime like that wouldn’t make sense.

All I know is that it sent the IWC in a tizzy (myself included I’ll admit). I can rest easy for now, I guess.

Also a chance he's trying to use a Saudi deal potential to leverage more money from NBC which would be hilarious logic lmao
I was honestly thinking something like this could be on the cards.

Supposedly if the Saudis got the company, then these networks wouldn't be interested in renewing the TV deals is what I think I read right? Vince could quite easily use that as leverage like you say along the lines of them needing to increase the TV renewal otherwise they'll sell to the Saudis.

Tbh I'm not convinced they wouldn't still renew the deals, they might just wait and see how the news takes, maybe try and lowball and offer bc of it but still might want the content. I don't really rate TV companies morals lol it just depends on if they think it will hurt the networks compared to the ratings they get from WWE.

It's the most intriguing part of the story for me tho since they're up in like August I wanna say I read? Can't remember exactly, it's whenever the Hulu deal was temporarily extended to bc they worked out something with Hulu to get it to expire when the other TV rights did

Most corporate structures won't care if it's owned by Saudis unless it affects the bottom dollar. If the majority of the fan base revolts because of it, then the networks may take pause. Most casual fans won't know or care what's going on behind the scenes.

Still think the Steph thing is due to Vince and the scandal, not the potential sale.

I also don't see Saudis buying it and changing anything (you don't buy a Lambo and put a civic engine in it), I'd see it staying Vince's vision, whether that includes HHH is the big question imo. So if Saudis buy WWE you may get some walkouts. It'll either revert back to a vincesque booking or remain the same.

All that said I still expect NBC Universal, or Disney to end up being the actual buyer.

Glad someone else said this, I found it really strange people saying goodbye to the womens division etc. I'd be super strange for them to pay upwards of 6 billion for a company to improve their image then go and get rid of all the women on the roster.

it's more that without Stephanie and potentially Hunter in charge of creative, it will revert back to how Vince did it. Not gonna fire all the women but it's definitely not going to be in the forefront if he has his way. If Hunter stays nothing will change but I think it's much weirder to dream in color that if Vince is in charge creative won't change drastically.

Dunno if he was the one who started it all or not but the Steven Muelhausen guy from DAZN deleted his tweets on it all :hmm:

Yeah the Saudi's wouldn't kill the division bc they have to point to it to show them being progressive while taking rights away from women citizens and supporting other governments doing so. That's the point of the sports investments they've been doing, so the outside world doesn't see them as backwards

it'll be there to show it's there for sure, but nothing more if Vince is booking. except for Charlotte mb :p

I'd also expect the Saudis to tighten to social media leash and fine people for talking out of line. they've invested a lot in silencing any political protest in the sports they are involved in (see : FIFA)
