There have been lots of video game movies. Typically much like movies made into games they are usually hit (Doom, despite not really even being about the games) or miss (Resident Evil:Extinction) .

What video games do you think (if any) would make a good, or at the very least entertaining movie?

I would honestly like to see a Ninja Gaiden movie... If one hasn't already been made already, but I think one has.

What about you guys?

Honestly, Gears, but they cant do it right so scratch that.

If they come up with a compelling ass story, and stuff, GTA would be like the Departed. I'd jizz tbh.

I'd love to see a Def Jam movie tbh, but the talent needed for a movie like that would be crazy, and besides most rappers cant act.

Mass Effect would be some crazy Avatar shit too. It's ideal Sci-fi, but it really depends on how they execute it.

I hope you aren't suggesting it be live action lol. Animated movies can do wonders. Dead Space Downfall was really good. If live action movies are done right they can be amazing but not many end up good. Instead games should go the route of Halo and make animated movies. I can imagine a brutal God of War animated movie after seeing Dead Space Downfall. I actually enjoyed the three Resident Evil movies. They weren't spectacular but they're pretty good action movies imo.

Gears would make a pretty kickass movie, if it was done right.

I am honestly not a GTA fan but if given the right story I would most definetely check it out.

I think that MGS and Splinter Cell could make for a goodm secret agent movie.

I honestly am curious to see how ther GoW movie turns out. Along with Nation I am a hueg fan of the series. I think that if given the right budget and cast it could be good, maybe even great. The story itself is compelling enough to make for an action movie with substance. But knowing Hollywood it would turn into a love affait between Kratos and Athena in some way lol.

edit- Yeah the RE movies were good. I really wasn't feeling the last one though tbh. God of War could make for a kickass movie. But the brutality and blood could only really be depicted in a CGI film. I would love to see more movies like FFVII: Advent Children tbh

God of War might end up being like Clash of the Titans minus Liam Neeson.

Even though I've never played the game, Splinter Cell always looked like it can be adapted into a movie. Can't fuck up spy movies.

P.S Mortal Kombat is the best live action movie adapted from a video game.

I think all of your ideas are great, but I wonder to this day what a Metroid movie would look like. It would be pretty sweet imo.

But if anything right now, I'd kill to see a Gears movie.

They've been talking Metal Gear Solid for YEARS now, but Konami is too afraid to pull ther trigger and slap money down on the table so Hollywood can fuck it up.

If 20th Century Fox approached James freaking Cameron and said,

"We'll give you whatever you want, but you have to stay faithful to the game and use some of the same music and take some tips from Hideo Kojima (creator/director of the game)"

I'd have hope. However, knowing how Hollywood goes for cash turnaround rather than the satisfaction of making a genuine movie, they'd hire Michael "xExplosion p0rn" Bay to direct it, and he'd cast some femmy, girly man to play Snake/Liquid.

If they had done MGS back in the early 00's and done what I had imagined, they could have used Christian Bale to play both roles. He's Welsh, so he could use his normal accent for Liquid, and then easily used his "Americanized" accent for Snake.

That's one of my favorite film series. I read rumours on another one being made. Chris Redfield is suppose to be in that one. Although I don't think that one will be any good. The world is a dessert. Alice has clones and phyic powers. The zombies don't look like zombies anymore. I want to see it, but don't have high hopes for it.

Have you seen the CGI one. Resident Evil: Degeneration? That one was pretty good. I wouldn't mind if they made more like that.

Best theme ever!!!

Splinter Cell would be awesome, but how are you going to replace the familiar, silk voice of Michael Ironside? The guy's voice is what kinda makes Sam Fisher unique. It's going to be awful hard...

Yeah Splinter Cell would be a great movie to do along with. Metal Gear Solid (always time for some Snake). Maybe Final Fantasy movie. I know they had some but they were computer animated. I mean a real one.

Halo would have good to watch, although thats looking really unlikely now which is a real pity. Seemed Peter Jackson would have been perfect for Producer on that one, for one thing he was insistant that Master Chief's helmet stayed on, even if that was part of the reason it fell through.

Other than that I wouldn't say no to another Silent Hill movie.
