Seriously though, you want to see a bunch on angry Canuckers? The very notion of a North American union is enough to get most Canadians blood boiling. We don't mind having the US as a next door neighbor, they're very handy for when we need to use them for something but actually sharing a union with them? We'll revolt. Politely, but revolt never the less.

Its also a load of shit that's been a conspiracy theory since the 1980s. If you are going to make up a statement like that, post links by major news outlets that can be verified. If you can't do that & can only post to Alex Jones & other conspiracy nuts, then your statement is invalid.

Why is it that Canadians are the most militant people on any given forum.

It's just that having the US so close to Canada means that our culture, media etcetera is really influenced by the US. However what a lot of people don't seem to understand is that we're not USA-lite, we're Canadians and we really do have our own distinct, unique culture (I sound like a goddamned Quebecer) that we strive very hard to protect.

I think that the general feeling amongst Canadians regarding a NA union is that our culture would become co-opted. Shit, we even have an entire political party dedicated to keeping Canada and America separate.
