Mike Roberts, the manager of two-time UFC bantamweight title contender Urijah Faber, has been speaking about how “The California Kid” is planning on fighting his way back into title contention following his most recent set-back, adding he wants to fight again before the year is out.
Speaking via MMAWeekly.com, Roberts said:
“You’re going to see Urijah fight probably by the end of the year. He’d like to compete one more time (this year) and earn his way back to the top.”
On a potential showdown between “The California Kid” and his bitter rival, Dominick Cruz, Roberts said:
“Now, they’re a ways away from putting that fight together, but Urijah’s going to do his best to get right back to the top.”
It’s tough to see Faber going anywhere as far as the title picture is concerned at 135 pounds as he’s not only a cut above the rest of the contenders out there but is a big name on the books of the Las Vegas based promotion. Stay tuned to MMABay to find out what’s next for “The California Kid” as we get it.
His division is so weak right now, it wont be long before he gets his 30th title shot. I guess i wouldn't mind a fight between Faber and Michael McDonald.
