After it's uploaded, YouTube will processing. If the video is long like over 1 hour, it will take a while (hours) to process it.
RAW probably won't get removed but you'll get a notice saying "Matched third party content" which means they'll put ads in your videos. It happens to everyone on every RAW.

It won't get removed unless you upload PPVs whereas you'll get the video automatically removed and perhaps a strike on your account.
If you have any P2P software open or anything that can disturb the uploading process then exit that, softwares like that could be any torrent client where you might be seeding or downloading something on which will will lower down your Internet speed and as Hoss said always check it at speedtest.net whether it's improved or lowered and find out a reason why it has, might be some software as I said before running in the background which slowers the Internet speed.
