Something tells me no ways edge is giving up the belt.

But if he does, and it is a battle royal, i could see Khali or Batista winning it. If i had to pick one, i'd say khali. Damn!

I say kane wins it. Kane vs henry at the GAB for the title with edge as the referee. Matt hardy has mvp in us title match so he is out fo the title picture. A very outside chance is rey or hhh as the champion. Imagine jericho as the champion.

One thing's for sure, all the Hardy marks out there should be dissappointed if Edge does drop the title, because the *only* chance he had of getting a ME feud, was against Edge. Fact! There is no chance he would feud with Khali/Batista/Rey, so that was his only avenue. Midcard it is then!

These Champs are getting bad luck. Taker loses title due to injury and now Edge. This is bad, Edge is the top man keeping SD going right now.

I can't believe this... the WHC is fucking CURSED.

SD is falling even lower now, losing their top star, if he is gone for a long time I think SD NEEDS Triple H or Shawn Michaels to carry it.

If worst comes to worst I say put it on fucking MARK HENRY, the man has been in the WWE for 10 years, he can cut a good promo, he's more than credible, he's dominant, and he's decent in the ring, not KHALI, fuck.

Kane is probably a 100% no... for whatever reason the WWE has. Last option, of course being Batista.

Do you think I forgot Rey Mysterio? No. If Rey Mysterio wins the title it'll be a fucking joke, I'd rather Khali win it. Why? Because look at his contenders for the title.

The Great Khali
Mark Henry
Batista

All over 300 lbs and 2x his size. I'd rather a credible champion...

They had a chance to get more main-event guys in the draft. But they proved to everyone once again that they hate SmackDown! at the WWE offices. What's Vince's beef about the blue brand? Anyway you're right they need someone else fast, and on the caliber of HBK or Trips.

When hbk comes back id put him on smackdown anyway. A hbk vs batista feud in the fall will be good for the title.

Edit
The following is the WWE.com statement: A new World Heavyweight Champion walks tall among us this night, and his name is The Great Khali. No, you’ve read this right " The Great Khali now holds sports-entertainment’s most elite prize, one that dwarfs even his 7-foot-3, 420-pound frame. During tonight’s taping of SmackDown in the Laredo Entertainment Center, he won the title in true colossal fashion, by being the last man to stand inside the ring after an excruciatingly hard-fought 20-Man Battle Royal. The historic contest had been ordered by SmackDown General Manager Theodore Long, who earlier this evening had ordered an injured Edge to surrender the World Heavyweight Title. After pulling off his truly enormous feat, the largest World Heavyweight Champion in WWE history needs a challenger for The Great American Bash. A No. 1 Contender’s Match " also ordered this evening by SmackDown GM Long " will determine whether it’s Batista, whom Khali had originally agreed to face this Sunday, or Kane, the Big Red Monster who was supposed to meet Edge at the pay-per-view. And the only way to find out who wins that contest " as well as how Khali walked out of Laredo with the World Heavyweight Title " is to watch SmackDown this Friday night at 8/9 CT on the CW.

If the Great Khali doesn't drop it at GAB...I hope he holds the belt for a while
