update on Edge

- Edge will make his return to the ring next month. WWE officials wanted to sell the finish from the Hell in the Cell match at SummerSlam, where he was supposedly set on fire. They also wanted Undertaker in a new feud before Edge returned.

- Big Vision Entertainment will release a "Before They Were Stars" DVD featuring Evan Bourne this January. The released similar DVDs on CM Punk and Samoa Joe.

Finally! I miss Edge, I noticed how Smackdown! got pretty boring without him. It makes sense for him to sell the injury, especially because of how sick of a bump he took. But still, Edge pwns Smackdown! and I'm happy that he's coming back soon

I think it's great Edge is coming back next month but I'm curious as to how they bring him back. SmackDown has been somewhat boring without Edge but thankfully it'll pick up with the return of the Rated R Superstar. Can't wait for it...

I'm no Edge fan by any means, though I hope he's retained his character from before being defeated by Taker. I really dislike his Rated R persona and prefer a more psychotic Edge.

I prefer a witty Edge who can deliver a cocky, lewd promo. As opposed to serious Edge who only has the 'angry face' going for him.

I want him to come back better than he left. When he was with Vickie, it sucked, cause he was a pussy. Then, when he started the thing with Foley before Summerslam, it was better, cause he was viscious, but he was too "psychotic". He needs to mix the two together, and be like he was in 2005.
It;s a good idea to wait him off for a while though, and I'm glad they did, so a feud with Taker isn't neccesary.

I know this opinion won't be popular to some people but...they need to turn Edge face for a few months so he could pick up some credibility by getting clean wins and tweak his character back closer to what it was before. Then after WM25 or so he can go back to being a better heel than he's been even though he's already 1 of the best heels already.

I honestly wouldn't mind it. It'd be a breath of fresh air, as contrary to popular opinion, I hate his Heel character, although I'd prefer his Heel persona be psychotic, I'm all for a face turn. Three years of his boring, stale Heel personality has turned me off of his character, TBH.

Remember when Edge first returned from his neck injury and was a face? I do, but I had to unblock it from my memory banks given how awful it was. Some guys are just not meant to be face. besides, what would his motivation be?

Actually, I stopped watching in '01, and resumed in late '05, so in a sense, Heel Edge is the only Edge I've seen, which is why I'm so tired of his Heel persona. I didn't experience his face turn, so I'm not sure what to expect from another one this time around if it were to occur. I'm not sure of his motivation, but then again, the WWE isn't about logic.

I'm just saying he's been heel for a while and face just for a little while could work...even if he's just 2006 Edge except he feuds and makes fun of heels instead of faces and gets the crowd behind him...and when he turns full heel again he'll look twice as good and might get away with "cheating" once in awhile and people won't roll their eyes.

Face Edge could work, imo. I was saying for months that Kennedy, Kennedy, should turn face, and you all saw the crowds go absolutely insane for him as a result. I don't buy that some wrestlers aren't bent to be Faces. BABYFACES, sure, that takes certain types of people. But the proper Face turn for Heels like Kennedy and Edge is to simply get into feuds with Heels in which they come off as the Faces. Edge doesn't have to spout inspirational BS to be a Face, all he has to do is rip into MVP with some sarcastic remarks, then spear him to high hell.

You are aware that Face is short for babyface and is the exact same thing right?

And besides, it all comes down to why? So yes, he does need motivation beyong spearing some random heel.

It is bullshit thinking like this that makes the product so bad.

"What, we're turning him face? Why? It makes no sense!"

"Meh, who cares? Let's just have him spear MVP and call it a day. Those idiot fans will just accept what we tell them."

You've just described most of the faces in WWE for the past 10 years. Just replace the Spear with an FU, A Pedigree, some Sweet Chin Music, and so forth.

^ Not really. The faces we keep seeing are constantly saying crap like "you've got to look inside your heart and soul", or "Randy Orton is the number one contender because he deserves it! He may be a jerk, and i'm probably not gonna send you a Christmas card, Randy...", or "I looked into my wife's eyes and I knew what I had to do." Annoying and vomit-inducing, I know. But why does everyone think that a Face turn has to be that? Kennedy sure as hell didn't do anything like that - he trash talked his opponents, hit a mic check, then ripped them apart in a promo later that night. More along the lines of a tweener I guess, but tweener implies smacking down a Face just for the hell of it, and that's not what I'm getting at. Face doesn't have to mean babyface. It can mean using those heel tactics and promos on other heels while teaming with faces, and therefore being awesome. The crowds ate Kennedy up, and if they gave Edge the same treatment, they'd do likewise for him.
