WWE World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan underwent successful surgery to repair a lingering neck injury Thursday morning, WWE.com learned.
After being diagnosed with the nerve issue in his neck by WWE physician Dr. Chris Amann, Bryan underwent a minimally invasive microsurgical procedure known as a cervical foraminotomy to decompress the nerve root. The surgery was performed by world-renowned neurosurgeon and sports medicine expert Dr. Joseph Maroon. WWE.com was not able to get an official timetable for Daniel Bryan's return, but can confirm that the WWE World Heavyweight Champion is out of surgery and doing well, with strength already returning to his hands.

According to new reports, Daniel Bryan’s return may not happen until late Spring in 2015. As previously reported, Bryan may have to undergo Tommy John surgery, which will push the time-frame for his return back farther back. Recently, it was reported that Bryan may not need the procedure and he could possibly be working for WWE again around December or January, just in time for the “Road to WrestleMania” push, but if Bryan has to go under the knife once more, he may not be ready until WrestleMania 31 or later.

F4wonline.com is reporting that Bryan is still not regaining strength in his arm, which is a contradicting report to news spread about the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion several weeks ago. It was believed that Bryan was indeed gaining strength in his arm and that he would not need a second surgery. However, the new reports claim Bryan has plateaued in his recovery and the surgery may be necessary.

In August, news of a second surgery made its way online, predicting Bryan would be out until early 2015. Bryan initially wanted to have the operation done in August so that his return wouldn’t be hindered any longer than need be, but doctors thought he didn’t actually need the procedure at that time. Word is with their diagnosis changing, Bryan will be out-of-action at least until late Spring of next year.

They still have no timetable for a return, they won't know until he's very close to returning. Hopefully they keep it a surprise and don't announce it.

I'm gonna mark out so hard when he comes back!

As much as I wanna see him back ASAP, then again, I don't want DBry rushed back, I want him to heal 100% before returning to the ring.

Get well soon, champ! We miss ya!

I agree what Messiah said, hopefully they keep us thinking he's injured and make it a surprise, most memorable way of coming back.
I would like him to return at the Royal Rumble it would be awesome, similar to John Cena's return in 2008.
