WWE has a huge roster. Unfortunately not everyone can be pushed. Some people get angry with wwe for holding back stars with huge potential. Who are some stars who you think WWE wrongfully held back, past or present?

Right now, undoubtedly Antonio Cesaro. Dude is one of the best in the company and is stuck in a tag team with Jack f'n Swagger. He's had so many signs of greatness yet WWE haven't converted that potential yet.

Shelton Benjamin was always one.

Incredibly athletic, was quite good on the mic. Possibly the most underrated superstar in the last decade of WWE. Could have probably been a World Champion if WWE pushed him to those levels.

His initial singles push, I'd agree. He lost the IC belt to Carlito, had one botch, then WWE seemed to lose all faith in him.

And from there he just became unreliable, which is a shame.

What did he botch?

it was a dive over the top rope to the outside, he caught his foot on the rope and crashed and burned a bit. It was in the same match he lost the IC title to Carlito. I dunno, both things combined seemed like the sudden end of his push there and then.

Carlito was another one who was on fire as a face and then they just kept switching him back and forth and then he lost all his motivation.

Cesaro is the obvious answer and I agree with everything lb said another one I would say is Barrett he was on top of the world with Nexus and that should have led to him with a title run since then he seems to just be sputtering I wouldn't be surprised if he never gets out of midcard hell

I have faith that one day Cesaro will hold the WHC. Barrett on the other hand, seems destined to stay in purgatory.

Also, my answer is obvious, Curt Hawkins. So damn talented but absolutely nothing being done with him. He could be a solid mid-card face I'm sure.

One guy who was always underused who definitely had the talent and mic skills was Val Venis.

I think most of the underused stars could qualify for a "cruiserweight division", so for me that's the principal reason they're being underused.

That being said I also agree that Antonio Cesaro is the most underrated performer on the roster right now. Here you have a guy that can make anyone look good in the ring, that knows a lot of languages, that is decent to great on the mic and that has the physique of a credible champion and he's hovering on the roster, still looking for a place to be. Hell, he could be feuding with Sandow or going against ADR in a series of matches for the WHC, instead of being aligned with Jack Swagger (with Coulter I have no problem) and doing nothing at all.

I rather see him tag up with Kassius Ohno rather than Jack Swagger if they want him in the tag-team division, at least the two of them could rock the tag-team division. But other than that... push the damn guy and see where he can take you.
