Regarding The Undertaker's wrestling status, the mentality of WWE personnel is that he's considered retired. This explains Michelle McCool leaving to spend more time with him at home.

The Undertaker is in far worse physical shape than is being let on. While company officials aren't ruling The Deadman out for a match at WrestleMania XXVIII, he is not expected to compete before then. People close to the legend have talked to him about retiring at the event.

Will WM be his final Mania ever? What happened to the report where he was going to show up on Raw when he was ready to return soon?

This talk happens every year with the Undertaker but this time it is probably accurate. I do think that he will certainly wrestle one more WM match to finish 20-0. He can show up at the Rumble and then organise the feud from there without having to have him wrestle a match.

The speculation can start about who he will face at WM28. Cena, who was one of the best options, obviously can't wrestle Undertaker since he is facing The Rock. Be interesting to see who is given the opportunity against him.

Right now, with Cena and Rock out of the picture, there's really nobody who can stand up to the Undertaker in terms of history and career. For something like a possible retirement match (20-0), the opponent has to be no less than the previous, Triple H. There's nobody above Triple H, Undertaker, Rock, and Cena in the company.

Putting Orton as Undertaker's opponent would be mediocre.

Seeing Undertaker vs Sting would be something, despite their combined age. No words from Sting yet because nobody is pushing, but I don't know his contract terms with TNA.

Sting or Cena is in who my mind it has to be.

It CANT be Triple H again. I mean come on, Triple H gets three opportunities at him? That's a bit much.

Sting would be great to see considering there was obvious interest from WWE back when Sting was a free-agent. Of course we know he went back to TNA, but for how long is that contract?

That match would sell PPVs. Then you go back to Cena, and there's no way that can happen right now thanks to the match with Rocky. So, you're looking at Sting, who's in a different company right now, Triple H, who Taker has already beat twice, and who else?

It would almost have to be Orton.

I don't really want to see Orton face Undertaker at WM28 because they have wrestled once before at WM and because I don't think it would be special enough. If this is Taker's last WM it has to be something special so that is why Cena would have been the perfect choice since it wouldn't have been clear who would win unlike nearly every year when you know Taker won't lose.

Triple H won't do it again. Kane won't get another shot.

They need to bring someone in or bring back a legend. Stone Cold mentioned that his body could give him one more match. They have past history and it would be fitting for Undertakers last match to be against a legend like Stone Cold. What about Undertaker vs Stone Cold at WM28?

No terrible idea IMO the match would suck, and ideally I would like it to be someone on the full time roster, or maybe someone he has not faced before like maybe Sting who is also a icon in his own right. Besides I don't buy these stories about Austin sudderly being fit to wrestle again, and even if I did it is time for him to let go.

As for Taker I now think he will semi-retire and just wrestle once or twice a year, he's getting ever closer to calling it a day, but I don't think he is quite ready yet.

Triple H is probably once again a Plan B for WWE for WM28. Orton I guess is Plan C.

Nobody else in the roster (besides Cena) can stand up to Taker at this point.

Seeing Sting step into WWE for his first and last match (followed by HOF induction) would be amazing. Especially if he would enter with that old WCW entrance.

If Undertaker is too banged up, he should retire. It's just selfish to ask him for one more match, he doesn't owe another match. The most important thing a fan should think of is the well being of someone we enjoyed watching for more than 20 years. I would rather him being able to walk around to play with his kids and grandkids later in his life.

That's up to him, but I'm sure Undertaker is thinking of putting that final mark on his streak. I think Taker will go for one more match to finalize his retirement and round off the streak to 20.

They already planted the seed for HHH vs Taker again. If he does return, it will undoubtedly be HHH and it will be built off of the fact that he came closer than anyone ever to beating Taker at Mania.
Sting is a pipe dream, never going to happen.
Cena is busy.
Orton could be an option in creatives mind, but he won't go on instead of HHH.

No way do I want to see another Taker/HHH match at Mania, epsically if 28 is Undertaker's last that would just be a waste. Not really bothered about a match with Cena, it just doesn't interest me. One person who has not been mentioned who could be a good choice is Jericho, like I said in another thread the build up and promos could be really great, with Y2J at his swaggering heel best claiming that he has done everything except end Takers streak, and how he would add that to his list before retireing. They could even use Taker's real life plans of retirement as part of the hype, and lets face it Taker and Jericho would be fresh. Sting or Jericho is who I want to see.

Jericho and Taker has been done for free on Smackdown an Jericho took a pretty convincing loss. Noway you can bring it to Mania.

But that was quite awhile ago, and there is a chance many fans won't remember it, besides I don't think they have had a major feud so that is a big difference for me.

They won't remember late 09 early 2010? Even the most ADHD fans would still remember that.

What does ADHD stand for by the way. The thing is that if I remember was just a one off match [could be wrong wasn't really watching WWE then], to me a proper feud and Mania match between the two could be exciting.
