Frankie Edgar, #9 lb for lb, but only #4 in his weight class??? I'm only a novice fan, does he move around weight classes or am I right that this makes no sense??

Added in the rankings as a graphic in Cork's post for easier viewing. Also i've stuck the thread as these rankings will be getting updated after every UFC event I believe.

Not going to comment on them all, just two things that got to me really. Firstly, I know he lost to Rashad but I find it weird that Phil Davis is ranked quite highly but is then stuck fighting jobbers, or should I say guys that i've never even heard of before.

Secondly, I don't know why a P4P list was needed at all because I find it a joke. Mighty Mouse being on that list is an absolute joke, he's got hands as soft as candy floss and is getting dropped at Flyweight level, yet i'm supposed to believe if he had his talents at a higher weight class he'd be among the P4P best? Bullshit.

He was a successful Lightweight and just dropped to Featherweight this past week to face Jose Aldo where he lost which is pretty much why he's ranked that low.

thanks Dale, I knew he had just lost to Aldo so I wasn't surprised to see him at 4 in Featherweight.... figured he had dropped/jumped but wasn't sure.

I know he's only #10 so it's not a major bitchfit here, but Carwin hasn't won a fight in 3 years, hasn't fought for 2 years, and isn't likely to fight again....

The lists aren't bad but some of it is just head shaking. Maynard over Diaz? Carwin in top ten was also pretty funny. Belcher being ranked 9th is also ridiculous

Chad Mendes... the guy that got KO'd in the first round by Aldo is the number 1 contender? Really? I just find that... very... weird.

And I still refuse to accept Weidman as a true contender. Give him Belfort and if he can win that fight then yeah. Maybe he is another Bisping... good against everyone but big names.

And I have to say... i completely forgot about Werdum. That guy needs another fight and soon. He could pose a threat to Cain. His standup got wicked. Couple that with his sickly ground game and you got a guy that you don't wanna mess with.

I find most rankings make little to no sense in MMA. Most of the top contenders have already been beat or no body takes them serious.

Go to UFC ® | Ultimate Fighting Championship and you can see who voted for who.

Pretty weird that none of the MMAFighting.com writers have been asked, and this one guy, Anthony Springer, ranked Corimer in the P4P but not at HW (?), Ronda Rousey at #8 P4P, and Mike Pyle as #5 Welterweight....

I was looking forward to these rankings because I am all for companies having specific lists to make things clearer for fans. Hell I used to check the TNA rankings each week in their early days because I thought that they were an excellent idea. Very disappointed that it is simply a media voted thing rather than an official UFC ranking for each division. If I wanted to know what the media thought I would check out the specific websites for each writer. UFC should produce their own official lists instead.
