Toronto, ON - The Ultimate Fighting Championship® organization President Dana White and Director of Canadian Operations Tom Wright will be in Calgary on Wednesday, March 21 to make a major announcement.

MMACanada.net will be reporting live and will have all the post-conference highlights available right here.
Starting at noon, the pair will host a special press conference to be held at Flames Central in downtown Calgary. The event is open to the public.

Then, on Thursday, March 22, Alberta-based UFC[SUP]®[/SUP] fighters Nick Ring, Jason MacDonald and Mitch Clarke will be taking part in an open workout from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at BDB Martial Arts. This event is open to the public and will give fans an up close look at mixed arts training and some of Canada’s best local talent. Calgary Stampeders players Eric Fraser and Corey Mace will also be on hand to learn some MMA training techniques first hand.

Really curious as to what it's going to be, but all of this sort of leads to them announcing they're going to be holding an event in Calgary over the Summer or something which would be huge, Calgary has never hosted a UFC show and is the third largest city in Canada, but who knows maybe it's a combo and they'll announce GSP/Condit will main event the show as well.

Haha Alright, that's what i figured it was going to be and seemed like the most likely option. Wonder if they're going to try and get GSP on that show.

Good to see them expanding more in Canada, they have a lot of good fighters and the fans have supported every previous event in the country with great force so it makes sense to give them another event in another location. The event is July 21st so hopefully GSP can be fit by then but I am not too confident of that happening.

Last i heard GSP was ahead of schedule, but Dana has been saying that all along and it hasn't been entirely true as of yet but it would be huge if he made his return to the UFC at a Canadian PPV,

I think it's a good thing Diaz isn't going to be in a main event in Canada against GSP. With all the talking he does, he might not make it out of there alive.

Part of why i really want him to win is just to see the riot, they're supposedly going to be hosting that show in a soccer stadium as well. Going to be intense.

Holy crap, fans will be jumping onto the field like it's the end of the World Cup. I heard that the UFC is actually nervous to send Sonnen down there because of the security concern.

I would be nervous too, It's a HUGE threat. Obviously they'll do whatever it takes to protect him but it's going to get crazy. The couple of days leading up to the fight, Chael will have police escort everywhere he goes.
