No doubt a good wrestler in my opinion, probarbly diserves to be pushed to main event status, but for me he doesnt look like a main eventer, although he might have the talent.

SportsBusinessDaily.com is reporting that UFC has signed a huge new TV deal that will see programming move to FOX and FX in January of 2012.

UFC's weekly programming, which is now on SpikeTV, will move to FX, and FOX will broadcast up to 4 events per year. The report notes that bidding for the deal reached as high as $90 million. You can read more details by clicking on the above link.

So much for a G4/NBC deal

Way better than the G4 NBC deal. Fox is going to be more willing to let them do there thing, with them really being the less family friendly station on network tv. Being on FX is equal to Spike imo, but being on Network TV is what's going to grow the sport. UFC won't fuck it up like Elite XC did with CBS.

Having to lose Rescue Me in September and not having a show reach the same popularity of The Shield still since it ended years ago, makes this a positive move for FX IMO. A UFC night would be an excellent compliment to Sons of Anarchy starting this fall.

I agree that FX is better than G4, but I think NBC would have been better than Fox overall. You get in good with them and your talent gets to have roles on USA, SyFy, G4, and the other sister stations to get their faces out there and make them that much more known. Plus they would have their shows rebroadcast on Universal HD to go with their network specials

Yep. Their most popular show outside of Rescue Me (over The League and It's Sunny) when you look at ratings and DVD sales. Rescue Me was behind The Shield and on par with NipTuck for most of its run.

The first season didn't get great reviews because they were all over the place trying to establish characters (much like the Shield early on) but since then they have gotten positive reviews from critics and award nominations.

I guess it's popular by their standards. They have a tendency to also show the worst movies ever made.

UFC should dominate the rest of their programming.

True.

The shield at it's peak was competing with ECW in the 1.7-1.9 ranges and selling a bunch of DVDs. Sons is usually in the mid 1s like UFC was on spike, right behind rescue me but nothing else really comes close outside of 2 and half men reruns so they can really take over the network with shows on multiple nights

You sure know a lot of random information about ratings. Did you ever have a Nielsen box?

Took tv and film classes for 8 years so you have to follow the top cable and broadcast network trends. And nope, I don't know anyone who does

Nah. I go back in the spring semester. I love the classes but I hate keeping track of super bowl commercials during that time of the year.

Was told to watch out for some new show that Sarah Michelle Gellar would be on though because the production values were supposed to be extremely high for a CW show.
