NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Friday's UFC on FX 1 event drew an announced attendance of 7,728 and a live gate of $334,860.

MMAjunkie.com
(UFC blog for UFC news, UFC rumors, fighter interviews and event previews/recaps | MMAjunkie.com) learned of the figures during the event's post-fight press conference at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tenn.

The Tennessee Athletic Commission will release official tallies in the coming weeks.

UFC on FX 1 marked the first FX-televised main card in UFC history, and prelims aired on FUEL TV. Both channels are part of FOX, which kicks off a seven-year deal with the UFC earlier this month. The FX and FUEL TV cards essentially replace the UFC's smaller events that previously aired on Spike TV and Versus.

Friday's event featured Jim Miller's submission victory over fellow lightweight Melvin Guillard in the night's main event. Josh Neer, Pat Barry and Mike Easton also picked up wins on the main card.

During a busy stretch that sees five Zuffa events in five weeks, the UFC on FX 1 show flew a bit under the radar. However, a late-week sales and media push helped sell tickets, and most of the 19,000-seat venue's lower bowl was filled.

UFC on FX 1 was the second UFC event at Bridgestone Arena. The first, UFC Fight Night 18, took place in April 2009 with a Carlos Condit vs. Martin Kampmann headliner. The show drew 10,267 attendees for a $626,077 gate.

Additionally, Strikeforce held a show at the venue in April 2010. The event, "Strikeforce: Nashville," aired on CBS and is perhaps best known for a brawl that broke out between Jason "Mayhem" Miller and members of the Team Cesar Gracie camp afterward. The event drew 8,196 attendees, though a gate figure wasn't disclosed.

I got off work after 10 and I started flipping channels and I was surprised to see the show on. Thing is... I was only able to catch the main event and... well... eh. I'ma have to set my timer to record UFC on Fox next Saturday.

mma-core.com has the fights up :)

Don't ask me why, but I mark for Pat Barry and have done since the first time I saw him in the UFC so I was glad he won his fight. Thought he did well in escaping the sub attempts and then getting the KO.

The UFC’s inaugural show on FOX affiliate station “FX” drew in 1.3 million viewers to the station. The two-hour event which played host to four main card bouts averaged a 1.19 rating among males 18-49 and a 1.21 in the 18-34 bracket.

The preliminary card broadcast on FUEL TV drew in 148,000 viewers.

UFC on FX 1 took place last Friday from Nashville Tenn. In the evening’s main event Jim Miller was able to weather an early storm of vicious strikes from Guillard and get the bout to the ground where he held the advantage. After a scramble for position Miller secured a figure-four body lock from back mount and submitted Guillard with a rear naked choke in round 1.

In similar fashion, Josh Neer took heavy shots from Duane Ludwig early on in their bout, but after weathering the Ludwig storm, Neer took the fight to the ground where he stopped his opponent with a guillotine choke to win the evening’s co-main event in the very first round.
