UFC on FOX 12 weigh-in results: Matt Brown heavy for title eliminator vs. Robbie Lawler

SAN JOSE – MMAjunkie was on scene for today’s UFC on FOX 12 fighter weigh-ins, where main-event welterweight contender Matt Brown missed the mark in his first attempt on the scale.

Brown (21-11 MMA, 12-5 UFC) was 172.5 pounds for his main event against Robbie Lawler (23-10 MMA, 8-4 UFC), who was on the mark at 171. Their fight is a title eliminator with the winner expected to meet champion Johny Hendricks for the 170-pound belt.

Brown was given two hours to cut an additional 1.5 pounds to avoid losing 20 percent of his purse to Lawler.

Also on the main card, Anthony Johnson (17-4 MMA, 8-4 UFC) takes on Antonio Rogerio Nogueira (21-5 MMA, 4-2 UFC) in a light heavyweight bout in the co-feature. Nogueira, returning after a layoff of more than a year, was 205.5 pounds, while former welterweight Johnson was 204.5.

At featherweight, Dennis Bermudez (13-3 MMA, 6-1 UFC) was 146 for his fight against Clay Guida (31-14 MMA, 11-8 UFC), who was 145. And in a lightweight bout to open the main card, Bobby Green (22-5 MMA, 3-0 UFC) () was 155.5 for his fight against hometown favorite Josh Thomson (20-6 MMA, 3-2 UFC), who was 155.

UFC newcomer Juliana Carneiro Lima was off target for her preliminary card fight against Joanna Jedrzejczyk. She came in at 117 pounds for the strawweight bout and was given two hours to cut to the limit of 116 pounds. Jedrzejczyk was 115. Lima got down to 116.5 pounds, but couldn’t hit the limit and will forfeit 20 percent of her fight purse to Jedrzejczyk.

Friday’s weigh-ins took place at San Jose’s SAP Center. The same venue hosts Saturday’s event, which has four prelims on UFC Fight Pass, four on FOX and four main-card fights on FOX.
