Not the most stacked card by any means BUT I'm looking forward to Sir. Aspinall finally being back in the cage after Jon Jones stepped aside about a year later than he should have.

Tom has a lot to lose in this fight because after the whole debacle the eyes are on him for the first time as the Undisputed UFC Heavyweight Champion, and if he doesn't deliver he's going to get absolutely ridiculed. I'm personally confident that he puts Gane away, and if he does that should be it. No more Title shots for him. He's had enough already.

I'm the most excited about this Fight being at a reasonable time in the UK, because man staying up until 5am doesn't get any more pleasant as the years go on. Yes I still do it but I'm an idiot. The main event for this should be about 10pm UK time which is such a massive difference.

I know that wouldn't of happened as Gane just doesn't seem the type. But quiet ones are the ones we have gotta watch the most in any form of life.

It's not just Gane. The ref earlier on tonight literally stopped a fight and warned a fighter because he was going in fingers out every single time. He let them carry on and the fighter did it again immediately. There was no poke but it needs to stop.

The solution has already been established. The gloves that the UFC fighters wear are shit. Japanese MMA solved the problem years ago but Dana white is a mix of stubborn and tight as fuck when it comes to money and wont splash out for the glove change.

They switched gloves a year or two ago and it decreased KOs in a very limited sample size and then Jon Jones said he didn't like the new gloves for his one fight every 3 years so Dana said no more of them. He's a joke of a promoter

I don't even see this as the solution. Perhaps it would improve things but the actual solution would just be... closing your fucking hand in the vicinity of the opponent's face, as all fighters are perfectly capable of doing in the current gloves. Some fighters just have an idiotic tendency to have their hands open all the time. You have some guys in the UFC who eye poke seemingly every other fight and some others who have had 20+ fights without ever poking the opponent in the eye. Accidents happen but it's just a matter of discipline in a vast majority of cases.

It's a last resort kind of solution mate.

Should grown men and women be able to stop extending their fingers every time they reach out as to stop needless accidents? Of course.

Are grown men and women doing that? No. And as you said it's not everyone but it's enough of them for it to be a problem. It literally stopped the main event of a PPV because Gane seemingly has no self control.

Going to a glove where you can't extend is the only sensible option.

I was shocked he did it as hes one of the top fighters and expected better. I'm gutted for Jon as such a good dude and deserves better. Dana once again coming across as a heartless prick.
