UFC 175 lineup finalized, Urijah Faber vs. Alex Caceres in featured prelim

Next month’s UFC 175 pay-per-view main card will have one heck of a lead-in from the FOX Sports 1-televised prelims.

UFC officials recently finalized the fight card for the July 5, which takes place at Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas and features a championship doubleheader.

However, prior to the five-fight main card, six fights are part of the prelims on FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass.

In the featured prelim slot, former title challenger Urijah Faber (30-7 MMA, 6-3 UFC) takes on rising 135-pound contender Alex Caceres (10-5 MMA, 5-3 UFC). Faber, a former WEC champion who’s headlined and co-headlined major UFC events, is ranked No. 3 in the USA TODAY Sports/MMAjunkie MMA bantamweight rankings. Caceres, who’s riding a four-fight winning streak (with one no-contest), is an honorable mention.

The big matchup will carry the night into the PPV main card, which includes middleweight champion Chris Weidman (11-0 MMA, 7-0 UFC) vs. Lyoto Machida (21-4 MMA, 13-4 UFC) and women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey (9-0 MMA, 3-0 UFC) vs. Alexis Davis (16-5 MMA, 3-0 UFC).

A recent addition to the card, which will be part of the UFC Fight Pass prelims, features UFC newcomer and RFA middleweight champion Kevin Casey (8-3 MMA, 0-0 UFC), who was a cast member on “The Ultimate Fighter 17,†against Legacy FC champ and fellow UFC rookie William “Bubba†Bush (8-2 MMA, 0-0 BMMA).

The full UFC 175 card includes:

It's good to see Stefan Struve back in the octagon.

But the fact that he, Matt Mitrione, Uriah Hall, and Marcus Brimage are all on the main card over Urijah Faber is... <_<

Yeah that's really weird. Makes me wonder if the prelim ratings have been really low or something lately, because it's pretty weird that they slap Faber on the prelims, especially when that fight could easily be on the main card over any of those three fights.
