He told MMAFighting.com on Thursday that a 2002 arrest in the United States has proven to be a road block to Vegas.

"Just a stupid incident which happened in 2002," he told MMAFighting.com. "It wasn't even my fault, but as usual, I get canned for it. I should be fine by today. UFC is on it."

Here's how Hunt described the situation:
"A friend of mine punched another friend outside a club. Another guy said to me that they needed help. I went out to see what had happened. I see that these two losers were pissed [drunk]. I try to go back in the club and an undercover cop said I wasn't allowed. I said, Can I just go back in to get my girl? He says, no. I ask him again, he says, I'll tell you one more time you're under arrest. Guess what? I ask again, he flicks his baton; I get upset.

"So, he has his baton in his left hand, and I walk up to him. He maces me with his right hand, and they jump me. I wasn't even drunk. I spent New Year's in jail for public intoxication, and I wasn't even drunk."

Hunt, who has fought three times in the United States since 2002, noted that it was this issue that stopped him from fighting Butterbean at PRIDE 32 in Las Vegas in 2006, not a previously reported injury.

Still, despite his travel headaches, Hunt is confident he'll be able to fly out to Las Vegas Thursday evening.

"The fight is not in jeopardy at all from my end. Unless some evil power is at work, I should be out tonight."

Yeah he wasn't arrested, its an old incident from 2002 rearing its head. Not sure why its only now though considering he's fought in the States before.

Dos Santos versus Hunt is my favorite fight on the card, so hopefully everything goes well. This card is actually pretty good, it's just the main event I'm skeptical about. Obviously Silva will make it more competitive, but similar to Dos Santos-Mir from last year this just reeks of 2nd round finish.

I guess they've approached Roy Nelson to replace Hunt if he can't get into the United States.

Dos Santos vs. Big Country 2. Hmmm... hopefully if the fight happens... Nelson would be able to move a big quicker cause he was just outclassed badly against Dos Santos last time.

That'd be a terrible replacement fight. Hopefully Hunto can make it over, it'll be Blue if he cant. Gets in a fight 11 years ago and has trouble getting in, meanwhile kids that go onto set off bombs make it in just fine.

Mark Hunt's visa issues have been resolved and he's all set to fight JDS on this show.

Would have been terrible if the Hunt/JDS was scrapped it is the fight that is keeping my interest in this event. Wish that this was the mainevent rather than Cain vs. Bigfoot. Can anyone actually see Bigfoot being a threat to Cain this fight?

Could quite easily say the same about Hunt tbh.

Fair call but at least Hunt's fight isn't for the Heavyweight title plus we have already seen Cain/Bigfoot before and it was as onesided a fight as you can get. At least JDS/Hunt is a new fight so whilst JDS is a heavy favourite we don't know how they will match up.
