Apparently the gate is expected to be around 6.5 million... which would be the highest in UFC history besides when they went to Toronto in the Skydome when they had 55000 noobs, aye.

This would be like 1+ million higher than the previous highest UFC gate in Vegas which was Liddell/Ortiz at UFC 66

Yeah I've just seen it's expected to be the largest gate ever at MGM Grand :D

For the UFC.. Boxing's biggest gates blow 6.5 million away.

WTF IS THIS GATE?

Not sure if srs. Gate = how much money you make from selling tickets

edit:

Gate: The total amount of receipts or money that a boxing card brings in from the people who attend the show. The "gate" receipts may be reported as either "gross" (all money gathered) or "net" (money left after all expenses, purses, etc., have been paid).

I was serious, never heard of that before.

If this site sells more than ever, Chael should be given the money. He's an awesome promoter.

INB4 YOUR ANDERSON SILVA MARKING ASS HATES ON ME.

No arguments here. Chael is the one selling the fight, as I said before Anderson isn't into that aspect of the fight game. I know the main eventers get a % of each PPV buy, not sure if they get a % of the gate or not, I would guess not.

Chael's the smart one, surely these guys have bonuses in their contracts if they sell X amount of PPVs. Might as well make as much as you can while you can.

Anderson is not hurting for coin, let's be serious. He's still wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy more loaded than Chael even without the desire or ability to hype fights

I'm not saying he'll be busking on the streets or anything but IMO, it's always better to earn as much as you can. If you can work even more money out of people for a little speech, why not?
