My main card predictions weren't too bad, only missing Ortiz winning.
Good PPV overall but a lot of early finishes.
Mainevent: Faber was no match for Cruz. Cruz was only rocked once by Faber in the fourth, twice he did slip, and Cruz countered everything that Faber threw at him. On the other hand Cruz hit Faber with so many shots and took him down many times especially near the end. I scored the first round even, I couldn't split them at all, but for the other four rounds they were all clearly for Cruz
Leben did as expected and knocked Wanderlei out. Wanderlei should have retired after that long delay and I couldn't believe it when in the hype for the fight Joe Rogan gave the striking advantage to Silva when Leben is the king of KO's. Excellent finish by Leben and hopefully he is given a threat next.
Siver vs. Wiman was a very close fight. I was surprised to see the judges coming out with a unanimous decision since I thought it would be a split decision. I had it scored 29-28 to Siver.
Ortiz was amazing against Bader. Rocked him with a huge right and then locked in the guillotine and made him tap in no time. Keeping it simple worked for him and a huge set back for Bader as he was clear favourite for this fight.
Condit vs. Kim I wanted to continue for a couple of rounds before the finish as what we saw was a good fight. Awesome flying knee by Condit to knock Kim down and then the ground and pound for the win was perfect. It rightly deserved KO of the night.
Prelim Card
Soti being KO'd within a minute was sad. I had just arrived at my mates to watch it and suddenly it was all over. I was surprised the ref stopped it so soon though as Soti seemed to start to defend himself once Anjos went to finish him. In all the other fights on the card when a fighter was knocked down the ref waited for the standing fighter to hit them again to give the downed fighter time to recover. Soti got none of that time. He probably still would have lost but I was surprised at the early call.
I have no idea why Guillard is on the prelim card. He is such an exciting fighter and he always wins, deserves to be on the main card.
Njokuani vs. Winner was entertaining and Njokuani was the clear winner.
Hougland vs. Walker, the battle of the hillbillies, was only notable for the fact that Hougland didn't know how to use the guillotine choke.
