Not when you can't count the Soccer kick and head stomp KO's for anything in the UFC because under the Unified Rules those are both highly illegal. Discounting the long lay offs he has had within the last 4 years...... how can you compare a fighter who isn't/cant be the same fighter he was?
just because he can't soccer kick or stomp the fuck out of people in the UFC doesn't discount years of fight experience. Jones has never been in a big fight, he's never experienced anything like it before. It shouldn't make much of a difference but its little things like that where your experience helps heaps.
Not really if anything you should be injury free besides the bruises of training in the harsh environment. Coming into a fight injured is worse because you know you shouldn't be fighting but your pride won't allow you to pull out unless it is dire.
he'll be just as banged up as Jones is coming into the fight but with the added problem of having 'cage rust' with his injury layoff. before you ask, not fighting in a year =/= cage rust.
I don't remember many people besides those fans who couldn't let the Chuck of old go. It was shown that after the Quinton Jackson KO he wasn't the same. You can see it in the Jardine fight...... his reaction speed slowed down. In the Wanderlei fight his hands were less potent and you could see in the Rua and Franklin fights (I will not count the Rashad fight because that was a home run of a KO) that his chin was gone.
Every fighter slows down at some point, a lot of people could see that but his chin wasn't as cracked back then. His chin was shot by Rampage but still people didn't believe him to have dropped off that hard. Only fighter that takes a punch worse nowadays is Arlovski.
I am relaxed, I think me and you are going to enjoy some good debates.
probably so haha.
i'm still backing Jones in the fight to be clear but Shogun will be tough to beat, he's far and away the best fighter Jones has had to fight.
