Two teenage boys who were shot Friday night within a couple of hours of each other in apparently unrelated incidents in west suburban Maywood died early Saturday.

The boys’ murders occurred within “a couple of hoursâ€￾ of each other outside at separate locations, according to Maywood police Chief Tim Curry. It was not immediately known whether they were connected, according to Curry.



Sharon Draine, a 16-year-old boy from Bellwood, was pronounced dead at 1:37 a.m. at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.

Draine was shot at 2017 S. 2nd Ave., according to the medical examiner’s office.


Demetrius A. Delacy, 17, of Maywood, was pronounced dead at 2:49 a.m. at Loyola University Medical Center, according to the medical examiner’s office.

Delacy was shot at 1006 S. 14th Ave., according to the medical examiner’s office. The two shootings occurred about a mile and a half apart.

Curry could not say Saturday morning if there were any arrests.
