Short term it won't. Lucha underground is still fairly niche.

If Turner was smart he would not put it opposite RAW anytime soon and he doesn't have a Hogan he can hire.

It's to air Lucha Underground in Germany. Germany.

Turner is not back in the game and competing with the WWE until they have a TV deal for a promotion in the United States.

Turner does not own Lucha Underground. They bought the re-airing/international rights to Lucha Underground to be its broadcaster in Germany.

Typical Inquistr to try and angle an article to be something it is not to gain clicks.

I'd mark for Dungeon of Doom in Lucha Underground tbh.

Turner didn't put WCW against WWE the second he bought it, either. He found the right guy to run it, the right guys to compete in it, and the correct flow of cash before even trying to take on Vince, in any capacity.

As for this, Lucha Underground won't be making waves as big as people seem to think. Lucha Underground's biggest fans/attractions are internet fans. WWE has wide spread popularity and name recognition, which Lucha Underground doesn't have. WCW/NWA did, and that's why they could turn the company around and make it a competitor so fast.

I do hope Lucha Underground grows, but I doubt a TV deal in Germany (where wrestling is considerably less popular than in America) will be the pin-point for a push for regular American television.

Not to mention that Turner doesn't own Lucha Underground to begin with. This is by no means a Monday Night War 2.0 which some seem to think
