UFC president Dana White dropped a bombshell Saturday night at UFC 158 by announcing the details for "The Ultimate Fighter 18."

UFC women's bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey will serve as one of the coaches for the FX series. The other coach will be determined by the winner of the Miesha Tate vs. Cat Zingano fight, which will be held at the TUF 17 Finale on April 13 at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.

White also announced that the next season will feature both bantamweight men's and women's competitors.

This marks both the first time in TUF history that the show will feature women in either a fighting or coaching capacity. Rousey is coming off a first-round submission victory over Liz Carmouche at UFC 157 in the first women's fight in UFC history.

White also announced an open casting call for the show for April 15 in Las Vegas.
Ehhh, can't say i'm too interested in this to be honest. Only interesting thing I can see happening is some sexist comments, that's about it. Guess we'll see just how popular Ronda actually is.

This is a big risk. They are really trying to push Ronda hard. This could do some really bad ratings.

WOW, just when you think this show couldn't dive any further, it goes full Big Brother route.

I can't wait to check out the Bellator cersion, maybe it will actually show training techniques and fighting instead grown men crying around like drunken children, and give us sob stories about missing this person and doing it for this person....wah wah, we all got sob stories.

I'm a Rousey fan so it has my interest but I do agree this could go bad if handled the wrong way. Rousey is hot right now so it doesn't surprise me that Dana will try to cash in as much as he can with her.

Not surprised by this, Dana will milk Rousey for everything he can whilst the topic of women in MMA is hot. Don't see why they are having men and women in the house though, thought that they would just do a women's season to try to find fighters to boost their division.

Zuffa has no confidence in womens MMA, if they did, they wouldn't have only one weight class. This is Rouseys class until she stops being profitable. Then Womens MMA will disappear like the lightweight division did after BJ left, back in the day.

Theres finally going to be something interesting on TUF; some sex! People going to get knocked out and knocked up.

I dont see what's so bad about it. Rouseys hot right now, use that star power. No one bitched about Sonnen being on TUF because he's yapping all the time lately, should just stick the popular fighters on the prelims right? ;)

This has real potential to end up great. Ronda will be a nice change, and it seems like they really stepped up with TUF after leaving Spike.
