The tournament finals are set for The Ultimate Fighter 14 Finale on Saturday.
Following Wednesday's regular-season episode on Spike TV, the first-ever bantamweight and featherweights finalists were determined.
In featherweight action, Team Miller's Dennis Bermudez (7-2 MMA, 0-0 UFC) takes on Team Bisping's Diego Brandao (13-7 MMA, 0-0 UFC), and in bantamweight action, Team Miller's John Dodson (11-5 MMA, 0-0 UFC) meets Team Bisping's T.J. Dillashaw (4-0 MMA, 0-0 UFC).
The Ultimate Fighter 14 Finale takes place at The Pearl at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas. The night's main card, including the tourney finals and a headliner between coaches Michael Bisping and Jason "Mayhem" Miller, airs on Spike TV. The prelims stream on Facebook.
All tourney finalists were No. 1 draft picks except for Dillashaw, who was a No. 2 pick. Saturday's winners earn a guaranteed UFC contract, though many cast members from this season are expected to be folded into the UFC's newly adopted 135- and 145-pound divisions.
Bermudez punched his ticket to the finale with TKO wins over Jimmie Rivera and Stephen Bass and a submission victory over Akira Corassani in the "TUF 14" 16-man featherweight tournament. In official/pro competition, he looks to snap a two-fight losing skid that came to UFC vet Drew Fickett and top prospect Jordan Rinaldi in regional competition.
He takes on Brandao, who blew threw the "TUF" competition with first-round knockouts of Jesse Newell, Steven Siler and Bryan Caraway. In pro fights, he carries a three-fight win streak, and eight of the 13 fighter's wins have come via knockout.
Dodson, meanwhile, made the finals with a TKO of Brandon Merkt, a decision victory over John Albert, and a knockout of Johnny Bedford. Long considered one of New Mexico's top prospects, he returns to pro competition with four victories in his past five fights.
He now meets Dillashaw, who knocked out Matt Jaggers, submitted Roland Delorme and earned a decision victory over Dustin Prague in the tournament. After turning pro in early 2010, he racked up four victories in four pro fights before joining "TUF 14."
