49ers sign veteran Young to new deal

Santa Clara, CA (Sports Network) - The San Francisco 49ers have re-signed defensive end Bryant Young on Thursday. Terms of the deal were not announced.

Young, a four-time Pro Bowl selection, joined San Francisco as a first-round draft pick in 1994 and is the only remaining player from the 49ers last Super Bowl win.

"We are excited about retaining Bryant as a member of the 49ers team," head coach Mike Nolan said. "We were diligent in our efforts to retain Bryant as a member of the San Francisco 49ers and we are pleased that we were able to reach an agreement that reflects his value to the team while addressing future needs of the club."

Last season, Young started all 16 games and finished with 60 total tackles and 5.5 sacks. He currently ranks third all-time in franchise history with 83 career sacks.

Last night at the Raw house show in Springfield, Missouri, R-Truth and Mark Henry wrestled William Regal and Tyson Kidd. When R-Truth came out rapping and got to the ring to ask the crowd "What's up?", he once again forgot what city he was in, and asked Mark Henry. Mark Henry was laughing so hard that he was on his knees holding onto the ropes. The crowd was pretty unhappy and people around the building started chanting, "R-Truth sucks, that's what's up!"
