Hm. For me both finishes are still possible (unifying the belts or swapping them) or maybe just both guys retaining. But I would really prefer they unify this, because if they swap or retain the Cena/Orton program will continue and it doesn't appeal to me at all (and if it does go on the rematch will probably be at the Rumble, which means that they'll have to stretch this awful thing over almost two months, ugh). If they do unify the belts, I won't be particularly happy with either outcome but whatever. I just want this feud to be over asap.

For what it's worth, there's a feeling within WWE that Randy Orton may come out of TLC as the winner largely because it's a TLC match and that means John Cena can lose without being pinned or submitted.

Man, I hope WWE don't go through with this. I'd actually rather Cena walk out of TLC as "Champion of Champions".

Why do we all just assume that seeing the same story again would be bad...or boring for that matter?

Okay, maybe the fans called the title switch. Maybe it's too obvious that each guy would grab one belt and, somehow, Cena would walk out as WHC and Orton would walk out as WWEC (or vice-versa...it really doesn't matter). So what?

How many times have you been honestly shocked when the good guy won the fight at the end of the movie? Were any of us surprised that the Ewoks actually beat the Stormtroopers or that Captain Kirk and the crew found a way to defeat the "unbeatable superhuman" Khan? We knew these things, no matter how improbable they appeared, would happen. We knew that, in the end, the good guys would win.

My point is that it's not always the end of the story (or the end of the match) that matters. We get lost in worrying about the ending and we forget to enjoy the way they get to it. I was very unhappy when CM Punk lost the WWE Championship to the Rock. Then I went back and watched the match and...you know what....it was a really good match, especially when you consider that one of the guys involved wasn't even a part-time wrestler....he's an ex-wrestler-turned actor. With all of that reality, it was a terrific match.

Let me posit an idea. Whether they are your favorites or your favorite guys to hate, Randy Orton and John Cena are terrific entertainers in the ring. They're going to go out there and bust their asses to put on the best show they can. And you know what? They're probably going to succeed. They've got some of the best chemistry in the business when it comes to the physical aspect of pro wrestling. Add to that the tremendous amounts of improvement both of these guys have shown in the last couple of years in the various aspects of the game. Orton still isn't all that exciting on the mic. Cena's still an overly-cheesy, corny, kid-friendly babyface. But they both know how to work and they're going to perform for us. If Cena walks out the Unified WWE Champion, that's fine. If Orton walks out as Champion, that's fine. If there's some kind of swerve and they both maintain the status quo, that's fine, too.

For once, let's just sit back, watch, and enjoy the spectacle without being assholes about it.

That's all.

"We know, in the end, the good guys would win"

That's very true. Being predictable gets way too much heat from us assholes. :p There's nothing wrong with the good guy winning when Batman destroyed the Joker at the end of the Dark Knight, but the Joker was a maniacal little asshole who really got his comeuppance. Randy Orton... sorry, but you're no Joker or Khan or even a Stormtrooper. (Triple H? Maybe.)

As for the match itself: We're definitely too hung up on "quality of workers in the match" to determine if we think a match will be good. It reminds me of Money in the Bank from last year when everyone hated the idea of a bunch of big guys + Jericho in the main event, and when we got to the match it was surprisingly pretty darn good. No amazing ladder match bumps, but the match didn't need it. It told a really good story, and this match will too (that's what Cena's great at after all). The problem is, again, just a lack of interest going in.

"We're all lost worrying about the ending" That's true, but that's the way it is in any sport. What would we be as fans if we didn't care about who wins and loses? Match quality is important too, but the main thing that draws interest and keeps your attention is wanting one guy to win over the other. This match is really missing that. Waco, if all you're interested in is a good wrestling match, more power to ya buddy. This'll do the trick. :)

Have both of these guys improved? Absolutely... well, Cena at least. They're still as stale as can be, but that's not their fault. Everything they can control is going fine, just like the rest of the roster.

Should we stop watching a product that makes us frustrated? Of course, makes no sense to keep watching. But in the end, expecting (much) better from something we still love and want to enjoy and using a wrestling forum to post said opinions on it isn't exactly a bad thing either.

I really don't care who unifies the belts at this point. It makes since if Orton does it because it adds to him being the chosen face of the company (from a kayfabe point of view.) It makes since if Cena does it because it's another huge accolade for John Cena. Who cares either way, the match should be good enough at least.
