Triple H to Give Update on His Health Today

WWE Executive Vice President of Global Talent Strategy & Development Paul “Triple H” Levesque is set to give an update on his health today.

The Game took to Twitter this morning and revealed that he will have a conversation with Stephen A. Smith that airs on ESPN’s First Take, which airs from 10am until noon ET. The full interview will then be released via Stephen A’s World on ESPN+ later tonight.

“Been a while since I’ve given an update on my health and what the future has in store for me. Check out my conversation with @stephenasmith today on @firsttake. Full interview debuts tonight on Stephen A’s World on ESPN+,” he wrote.

As we’ve noted, Triple H suffered what was said to be a very serious cardiac event last fall, and has been away from the job since then. WWE announced on September 8 that he underwent successful heart surgery the week before that at Yale New Haven Hospital in New Haven, CT. It was stated that the operation was needed after Triple H suffered the cardiac event, caused by a genetic heart issue. WWE’s statement noted how Triple H was expected to make a full recovery, and since then it’s been reported that he is doing well. He has done some WWE work in recent months, but he still has not returned to the daily workload that he had before.

If his Cardiac event was as bad as he described then yeah, best for him to stay out of the ring. While honestly we could do without needing Triple H to compete in a match, considering his career, it is a small shame we didn't have a match that was definitively going into it as "This is/may be my last match" and the story around it. The man's health come first and hopefully he is healed up enough to do what he was doing well, trying to get new stars in the company, results may vary upon call up.

Another piece of my childhood over. Doesn’t surprise me obviously. He’s had one of the greatest in ring careers of all time. Absolutely nothing left to prove and with the recent heart issues why chance it. It sucks he never got to have an official retirement match but I guess you don’t really need one. He was one of my absolute faves growing up so it hurts to see him go but nothing lasts forever as they say. I’m glad he’s gonna get to enjoy his backstage role now and help out the younger generation.

I was thinking about it today and Triple H could go down as having some of the best theme songs of all time. There’s My Time, The Game, King of Kings, Evolution, and even DX if you want to count that.
