NWA-TNA – “Destiny”
April 30th, 2003
Nashville, Tennessee

We open the show with the fans in The Asylum making plenty of noise, kickstarting the obligatory “TNA” chants. Our commentators, MIKE TENAY and DON WEST formally welcome us to the show, before getting right down to business. It’s all about tonight’s main event where Jeff Jarrett will defend the NWA World Heavyweight Championship against the man claiming to be chasing his destiny, Raven!

Our commentators also recap some of the events of last week, which include Team Extreme surprisingly attacking Jeff Jarrett to assist Raven. They also focused in and beat down Erik Watts, which is basically going to be the way Erik Watts is written out of this BTBT. Thanks, Team Extreme.

Triple X earned a tag team title shot against Amazing Red and Jerry Lynn, and that match has been confirmed for next week.

Finally, Konnan and Ron ‘The Truth’ Killings left the building together, hinting at the formation of a new alliance.

With all of that out of the way, it’s time for our opening match for the night…

Match One
Number One Contenders Match for NWA World Tag Team Championships
(winners will face the winner of next week’s title match)

Americas Most Wanted vs. Perry Saturn and The Sandman vs. The New Church

All three teams go at it in a relatively chaotic match that feels like it could go either way. Sensing things potentially slipping away from his team, FATHER JAMES MITCHELL motions towards the back and MIKE AWESOME runs out to interfere. Before Awesome can even make it to the ring, he’s intercepted by JUSTIN CREDIBLE and NEW JACK, which leads our commentators to wonder if Team Extreme were on standby in case Mitchell decided to look for an unfair advantage.

Mike Awesome is a beast and holds his own against the two, but the trio of wrestlers not competing in the match slowly battle to the back. As this is happening, inside of the ring, AMW have managed to isolate Slash, CONNECTING WITH THE DEATH SENTENCE!!!

HARRIS MAKES THE COVER…1…2…3!!!

THE AUDIENCE COUNTS BUT THE REFEREE IS DISTRACTED WITH THE SHENANIGANS ON THE OUTSIDE!!!

As Storm looks around for the ref, he’s suddenly grabbed from behind… ANGEL’S WINGS!!!

FROM THE INTERFERING CHRISTOPHER DANIELS!!!

Daniels sneakily slides out of the ring, but Harris sees what has happened, and leaves Slash to go and brawl with Daniels on the outside. This leaves Perry Saturn and The Sandman to have their way with Sinn, before Saturn gets him into the ring, and drills him with a DEATH VALLEY DRIVER!!!

SATURN MAKES THE COVER…1…2…3!!!

Winners: Perry Saturn and The Sandman @ 8:12

Just like that, it looks like Team Extreme will get a shot at the winner of next week’s tag team title match: Amazing Red and Jerry Lynn versus Triple X…

We head to the low budget backstage area, where interviewer extraordinaire GOLDYLOCKS is standing by.

Goldylocks: Hi I’m Goldylocks and my guest at this time is the current de facto leader of Sports Entertainment Xtreme… GLEN GILBERTI!!!

It feels weird not calling this guy Disco Inferno, but GLEN GILBERTI steps into screenshot. He looks to be in a foul mood.

Goldylocks: Thanks for your time, Glen. The question I have is after your seemingly failed dealings with the number one contender Raven, what’s next for SEX and yourself?

GG glares at Goldy, clearly unimpressed, but Goldy glares back because god forbid, she puts over any talent.

Glen Gilberti: As the leader of Sports Entertainment Xtreme, I take my job very seriously, Goldy. I won’t reveal what’s next for us, but I will answer another question for you? Do you want to know what Raven did by not joining us? He made the single biggest mistake of his career. He abandoned us for Team Extreme or whatever those freaks are calling themselves. Raven will realise how badly he messed up soon enough, because I guarantee that no matter what…

The long winded Gilberti pauses for a moment, taking a deep breath but remaining determined.

Glen Gilberti: The result in tonight’s NWA World Heavyweight Title match between Jeff Jarrett and Raven is irrelevant. SEX will have the World Title soon enough.

Gilberti rubs his chin, pondering before shaking his head as if he’s made a mistake.

Glen Gilberti: Scratch that, let me correct myself. SEX will have all the titles soon enough.

Gilberti gives Goldy once last up and down, before walking away, work to do for SEX to reach their lofty goals…

***

A video package plays, showing the high-flying antics and in ring highlights of both the TNA X DIVISION CHAMPION KID KASH, and his challenger tonight, AMAZING RED. The highlights continue, before subtitles appear at the bottom of the video…

“KID KASH DEFENDS THE X DIVISION CHAMPIONSHIP AGAINST AMAZING RED… NEXT”!!!

***

Match Two

TNA X Division Championship Match
Kid Kash (c)
defends against
Amazing Red

This happened in real life and was already booked here so is happening here as well. We will change a couple of things here. There was a bunch of interference from Trinity and a ninja (ugh, don’t ask) during this match. We’re not rolling with that here. There is no interference.

Instead what we get is a highly entertaining match between champion and challenger. Despite not being that large of a man himself, Kash plays the role of big man here, as he and Red have a classic strength vs. speed battle.

The longer the match goes, Kash seems to get antsy and wants to end things. He tries numerous times for the MONEYMAKER!!!

BUT EACH TIME, RED IS ABLE TO WRIGGLE OUT!!!

As the exciting match continues to go back and forth, eventually both men are down after a Double Clothesline. Kash decides to roll to the outside to recover, where he grabs the title and gets back into the ring. He’s first to his feet, and as Red stumbles up, KASH RAISES THE TITLE ABOVE HIS HEAD AND CHARGES AT RED…

RED EXPLODES WITH A DROPKICK TO THE KNEE!!!

KASH LOSES HIS FOOTING AND DROPS FACE FIRST, SMASHING HIS OWN FACE ONTO THE BELT!!!

The referee immediately hurries over and removes the belt from the ring, as Kash rolls over onto his back, clearly dazed. Red quickly heads over to the fallen Kash… RED STAR PRESS CONNECTS!!!

RED STAYS ON TOP FOR THE PIN…1…2…3!!!

Winner: Amazing Red @ 12:34

The result gets a big pop from the fans, as an ecstatic Amazing Red gets to his feet, and is gifted the TNA X Division Championship. Red closes his eyes and raises the title in the air, garnering another fantastic response from the fans.

Red continues to celebrate, heading to the corner of the ring, before jumping back down…

AND TURNING STRAIGHT INTO A TAG TEAM TITLE SHOT TO THE SKULL!!!

FROM CHRISTOPHER DANIELS!!!

‘The Fallen Angel’ has snuck to the ring and hit the newly minted double champ with one of his own titles.

Daniels stands over Red, drinking in the boos from the crowd…

WHEN DANIELS GETS POPPED IN THE JAW FROM A RIGHT HAND…

BY JERRY LYNN!!!

Red’s tag team partner and the man that Daniels is scheduled to face tonight has made the save. A fired-up Lynn continues to hammer away on Daniels, as Kash and Red work their way out of the ring.

As the fight continues in the ring, the referee calls for the bell. It looks like we’re getting our next match right now!!!

Match Three
Christopher Daniels vs. Jerry Lynn w/Amazing Red

Being that his tag team partner is in action, and Daniels attacked Red after his match, Red decides to stick around at ringside for this one. Based on the way this one started, both competitors lose their temper and there’s a fair bit of tension in this one. Both are highly skilled wrestlers as well; therefore they continuously go back and forth with the trading of momentum and the advantage.

As the match continues, Red doesn’t get involved, but it doesn’t stop Daniels’ SPORTS ENTERTAINMENT XTREME stablemates making their presence felt. GLEN GILBERTI leads DAVID YOUNG AND SONNY SIAKI to ringside. Red eyes them off but they pay him no attention and initially don’t interfere. Once Lynn begins to stay on top though, Gilberti whispers something to the troops, BEFORE SONNY SIAKI JUMPS ONTO THE APRON TO DISTRACT THE REFEREE!!!

With the referee out of commission, David Young slides into the ring and he’s armed with one of the tag team titles. Once Lynn staggers to his feet… DAVID YOUNG SWINGS THE TAG TITLE AT LYNN’S SKULL!!!

NO… LYNN DUCKS…

AND YOUNG SMASHES THE BELT AGAINST DANIELS’ SKULL INSTEAD!!!

Young freezes, in complete shock, and before he can react… RED SENDS YOUNG TUMBLING TO THE OUTSIDE WITH A SUPERKICK!!!

The rest of SEX hurry across ringside, helping Young to his feet, and as they are huddled up… FLIPPING SENTON FROM RED TAKES OUT ALL OF SEX!!!

Meanwhile, inside of the ring, Lynn hauls the dead weight of Daniels to his knees, ONLY TO DRILL HIM WITH THE CRADLE PILEDRIVER!!!

LYNN HOOKS A LEG…1…2…3!!!

Winner: Jerry Lynn @ 14:22

The bell rings and it’s another happy result here for the fans, with Lynn beating the dastardly Daniels. Lynn is joined in celebration by his fellow tag champion, Red, and they enjoy the moment with the fans as we cut away…

We get a pre-taped promo up next where young gun, AJ STYLES sits down, donned in a collar shirt. The camera man asks him considering his involvement with both men, who he thinks will win the NWA World Heavyweight Championship match between Jeff Jarrett and Raven. Styles takes a beat to mull over his response.

AJ Styles: I don’t want to not answer your question, but I have to be brutally honest here, I don’t care who wins. No matter who’s the champion, I’m getting my second shot at the most prestigious title in this sport soon.

Styles is deadly serious, a look of intensity in his eyes.

AJ Styles: I don’t have a lot of experience in big title matches, but after just one shot, I learned what I have to do. Next time there won’t be any learning, when I get that next NWA Title shot… Mark my words, I will be the heavyweight champion.

AJ continues to look deep into the camera, making his intentions known as we cut away…

Inside the Sports Entertainment Xtreme locker room, CHRISTOPHER DANIELS stands hands on hips, absolutely furious. GLEN GILBERTI tries to put a calming hand on Daniels shoulder, but Daniels quickly brushes it off. DAVID YOUNG and SONNY SIAKI also watch on as Daniels continues to vent.

Christopher Daniels: YOU GUYS SCREWED UP!!! DON’T EVEN BOTHER TRYING TO HELP OUT DURING THE TAG TITLE MATCH NEXT WEEK… BECAUSE TRIPLE X, WE DON’T NEED YOUR HELP… WE CAN DO IT ON OUR OWN!!!

The other SEX members, including the leader Gilberti all seem shocked. With no response coming his way, Daniels storms out, ensuring to slam the door as he leaves.

After a moment, Gilberti gets a curious look on his face.

Glen Gilberti: Hey, uh, has anyone heard from Raven at all since last week?

The initial hopeful look on Gilberti’s face disappears, as his team greet him with silence. The expression on his face now reads disgust.

Glen Gilberti: Well, the guy certainly has a reputation that he lives up to. I figured he would play us like that. Based off what happened last week, we have to assume he’s with Team Extreme now.

Nobody in the room looks pleased, when suddenly, Gilberti begins to smirk.

Glen Gilberti: That’s okay. The situation didn’t turn out as we would have liked, but since that’s the case, it’s plan B time, and I’ve got one hell of an idea.

Before diverging any of the details of his plan, Gilberti ensures the camera men and all the cameras are out of the room, so we aren’t getting any answers as to what Gilberti has in mind tonight…

Match Four
Elimination Match

Chris Sabin vs. Jason Cross vs. Jimmy Rave vs. Shark Boy

Yeah, so this is basically a showcase match because there’s one competitor in this one who’s up to his eyeballs in the X Division title picture. Chris Sabin quickly eliminates Cross and Rave, before Shark Boy gives him some serious competition. In the end though, Sabin is able to catch the fast-moving Shark Boy… AND NAIL HIM WITH THE FUTURE SHOCK!!!

SABIN MAKES THE COVER…1…2…3!!!

Elimination #3: Shark Boy @ 6:23

Winner: Chris Sabin @ 6:23

Getting a pretty solid reaction from the fans, Sabin has his hand raised in victory, before bookmarking his celebration by signalling for the X Division Championship to be back around his waist…

Sitting in a dark, undisclosed hallway in the back, slumped over, hair in his eyes, is none other than the number one contender to the NWA Title, RAVEN. The troubled challenger is all on his lonesome, looking like a tortured soul as he slowly begins to speak.

Raven: Since the moment I stepped foot in this company, I told the world that I was chasing my destiny. My former allies and current allies see my destiny and flock to my side as always. Because those who truly understand know that only I can take the title.

Raven lets those words sink in, stopping to run a hand through his hair.

Raven: Unfortunately for him, there is one unlucky man who stands in the way of my destiny. Jeff Jarrett is about to suffer a tremendous loss. Loss is difficult to take for any man, especially the loss of something you worship and something you’ve lusted over all your life. Of course I’m talking about the NWA Title.

Looking into the camera, Raven has an earnest look on his face.

Raven: Despite Jarrett being my adversary tonight, in a strange way, I guess I sympathise with Jarrett. It’s truly impossible having to fight a man with fate on his side. It’s truly impossible to face a man who simply cannot and will not lose.

Another moment of silence from the complicated number one contender.

Raven: Losing is not an option for me, not tonight…

He shakes his head to further emphasize his point.

Raven: I can’t lose when I have a destiny to fulfill.

Raven swings his head back, clearing the hair from covering his face.

Raven: Whatever it takes, I will do what I must…

Raven now stands on his feet, ready for action.

Raven: Quote the Raven… Nevermore…

Raven continues to stare into the camera, preparing to accomplish his destiny tonight…

Match Five
AJ Styles and D’Lo Brown vs. David Young and Sonny Siaki w/Desire

This one’s a relatively even contest for the most part, however the bad night for SEX continues. They are holding their own for the most part, however things go downhill when SIAKI GOES FOR A SPINNING HEEL KICK ON STYLES!!!

NO!!! STYLES DUCKS…

AND SIAKI ACCIDENTALLY TAKES OUT YOUNG!!!

Young rolls out of the ring after the blow, attempting to recover on the outside. As Desire tries to revive him, inside the ring, Siaki is shocked, before turning into a kick to the gut from AJ. As Siaki hunches over… STYLES CONNECTS WITH THE STYLES CLASH!!!

Instead of going for the pin, AJ tags in Brown, who ascends to the top rope… LO DOWN LANDS!!!

D’LO STAYS ON TOP FOR THE PIN…1…2…3!!!

Winners: AJ Styles and D’Lo Brown @ 8:10

The relatively new team of AJ and D’Lo continue to be successful, sharing a celebratory hug, and gaining a nice ovation from the fans. After celebrating their way to the back, the real story remains inside of the ring.

Young has recovered enough now and isn’t happy with the blow from Siaki, whilst Siaki isn’t happy, he was left to fend for himself. The two go nose to nose arguing, with DESIRE even getting involved, and she obviously takes the side of Siaki.

It’s two against one in the argument, as SEX looks like it’s further imploding. Suddenly, GLEN GILBERTI slides into the ring, and he gets in between his soldiers. He insists that both men calm down, and after a few deep breaths, they do.

There is still clearly tension, not everything is rosy, but they all head to the back together, at least somewhat united…

In the backstage area stands interview extraordinaire, GOLDYLOCKS.

Goldylocks: We’re just moments away from tonight’s main event. Before we get underway, please welcome my guest, the NWA World Heavyweight Champion… JEFF JARRETT!!!

Dressed to compete, World Title around his waist, and trusty guitar in his hand, JEFF JARRETT steps into shot, politely nodding at Goldy.

Goldylocks: Jeff, I appreciate your time so close to your match. Any insight you can provide to the people just a few moments away from go time?

Jarrett is quick on the answer.

Jeff Jarrett: Insight is that I’m going to keep doing what I’ve been doing since I won this NWA World Heavyweight Championship. For the last six months almost, I’ve defied the odds. I fought off SEX, and anybody else who took a shot. I’ve fought off men who want to take this title away from tradition. I hold that dear to me, the tradition that I represent.

The champ is fired up, as passionate as ever as he takes a beat.

Jeff Jarrett: There have been challenges to overcome, and it’s not been easy. Regardless of the situation or obstacle in my path, I’ve done the right thing.

Double J clearly has a lot of pride in his title run so far.

Jeff Jarrett: I take my role as the flag bearer of this company seriously, and I’ll keep doing the right thing. Tonight, is crucial, I know that no matter what people say or how much buzz Raven has, I must stand tall. I CANNOT allow the title to get into Raven’s hands. For the prestige of this title to be upheld, the title needs to stay around my waist. Not because it’s best for me, but for the good of TNA.

Jarrett narrows his eyes a little now, getting a little more severe with his tone.

Jeff Jarrett: If you look over at Raven, nobody knows where Raven stands. Is Raven with Team Extreme or is Raven with Sports Entertainment? I don’t the answer either but I do know that he’ll be standing where he stands after tonight without MY title.

Before Jarrett can continue, GLEN GILBERTI approaches. Jarrett puts his fists up, but the leader of SEX holds his hands up, proclaiming his innocence.

Glen Gilberti: I’m not out here to fight you, Jeff, I’m here to give you some advice. You see, as the leader of SEX, I can tell you wholeheartedly, Raven has Team Extreme in his pocket. And you know as well as anybody, coming from where we’ve been and what we’ve seen, the numbers game is everything in this business. Without anybody on your side, quite frankly, that title is gone.

Jarrett scoffs at Gilberti’s claim.

Jeff Jarrett: No, no, I don’t accept that for a second. I don’t need anybody or any weapon or any stipulation. I don’t need any help because someone like Raven CANNOT BEAT SOMEONE LIKE ME. ESPECIALLY NOT FOR THE NWA TITLE… WHICH IS MY DAMN BIRTHRIGHT!!!

The champion truly believes his words, but Gilberti nonchalantly shrugs his shoulders.

Glen Gilberti: Look do with my advice what you will, but you can say all that all you want, but it doesn’t matter. You need back up these days.

Jarrett doesn’t respond so the SEX representative presses further.

Glen Gilberti: I know the reputation of me and my guys isn’t ideal, but I run a different SEX than Russo did. I’m offering our support and we’re not asking you to do anything you wouldn’t normally do. It’s up to you, champ, think about it.

With that, Gilberti turns and leaves, and now suddenly Jarrett has a lot more on his mind regarding his upcoming title defence…

We’re so close to the main event, but considering we’re running a weekly PPV format, MIKE TENAY and DON WEST need to run down some of the things announced for next weeks show, that way hopefully people will buy it…

A GAUNTLET FOR THE GOLD TO DETERMINE THE NEXT NUMBER ONE CONTENDER FOR THE NWA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP!!!

AMAZING RED AND JERRY LYNN WILL DEFEND THE NWA TAG TEAM TITLES AGAINST TRIPLE X!!!

And there’s more, but I haven’t completely fleshed out the card yet, so just keep reading please…

***

We see clips of NWA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION JEFF JARRETT’S title reign, as well as clips of RAVEN claiming the title to be his destiny since the moment he stepped foot inside the Asylum.

“JEFF JARRETT DEFENDS THE NWA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP AGAINST RAVEN… NEXT”!!!

Match Six

NWA World Heavyweight Championship Match
Jeff Jarrett (c) vs. Raven w/The Gathering

Both men stand in the centre of the ring, staring deep into their opponents soul, with neither willing to blink. The referee calls for the bell, and the Asylum is LOUD. The fans are making some serious noise, some chanting for Jarrett, some for Raven, but they are all rowdy as hell. Both men lock up several times with Collar and Elbow Tie Ups, and each time Raven manoeuvres to get the better position for leverage and backs Jarrett into the corner. After the third time this happens, Raven once again allows for a clean break, but Jarrett’s eyes are wide in shock, seemingly thrown off by the way this one has started.

To make matters worse, with Raven winning these exchanges, he seems to have won over more of the crowd. A pretty decisive “RAVEN” chant can be heard, and Jarrett can’t help but look at the crowd, almost with a betrayed look on his face. The two eventually lock up again but now Raven is able to apply a Side Headlock, which is followed by a Hammer Lock! Jarrett can’t escape the hold, but he manages to get to the ropes, and once again, Raven obliges with a clean break. This time though, Jarrett exits the ring, looking for a breather.

Even on the outside, Jarrett tries to regain his composure, but ALEXIS LAREE and JULIO DINERO poke fun at him. They stare and giggle and point, before pretending like they’re going to try and corner him at the crowd barricade. They don’t actually do anything, it’s all mind games, but it works well, with a flustered Jarrett rolling back into the ring.

It's more of the same on the inside, as they lock up again and Raven uses elementary wrestling holds to take Jarrett to the mat. The frustration builds in the champ, until the next time they break and prepare to reengage. Jarrett skips the wrestling and begins teeing off with his epic uppercuts. His shots lands and get Raven rocking and reeling, so Jarrett grabs him by the air and throws him through the ropes and to the outside.

Relatively early in the match, Raven is quick to his feet on the outside… UNTIL JARRETT TAKES HIM DOWN WITH A SLOPPY LOOKING PLANCHA!!!

Double J busting out a high risk move gets a big pop from the fans and shows how desperate he is to keep the title. Surprisingly, Jarrett doesn’t bring the action back into the ring, instead beating on Raven outside of the ring. Getting worried for his leader, Julio tries to get involved, but Jarrett immediately drops him with a right hand. Turning away from Raven for a split second is a mistake though, as Raven grabs Jarrett… RUSSIAN LEG SWEEP INTO THE GUARD RAIL!!!

Now it’s Jarrett’s turn to stay down, as the commentators wonder if Jarrett got caught up in the moment. Perhaps keeping things on the outside with a man from ECW wasn’t a good idea. Either way, Raven now takes the time to clobber Jeff around ringside, until he barks an instruction at Laree. She gets onto the apron, distracting the referee… AND RAVEN CREAMS JARRETT WITH A CHAIR ACROSS THE SKULL!!!

The fans groan as the first look at the champion post chair shot shows that he is busted wide open. Seeing the blood seems to awaken something in Raven, as he gets extra vicious, keeping the action on the outside as he just mounts Jarrett and aims his punches at the cut. After softening up Jarrett some more, Raven heads underneath the ring and picks up a TABLE, setting it up on the outside.

As he goes to pick up Jarrett, Jeff gets a desperation elbow to the mid-section, before stumbling away from the challenger. Raven shakes off the blow and frustratedly runs at Jarrett… JARRETT SCORES WITH A DROP TOE HOLD!!!

WHICH SENDS RAVEN FACE FIRST INTO THE RING STEPS!!!

Another big time move on the outside, and now Raven is busted open to. Having learned his lesson, this time with the advantage, Jarrett drags Raven up and rolls him back into the ring. The in-ring action isn’t any less vicious though, as now Jarrett mounts Raven and aims punches at his cut. The champion gets up and looks to bring Raven back up to, but Raven explodes with some right hands, until Jarrett ducks a Clothesline, and gets a Chop Block!

The move is a game changer as Raven immediately grabs at his left leg, and it changes Jarrett’s strategy. From here, all the work is on the leg, with Raven helpless as Jarrett has his way. After doing enough damage, the champ decides it’s time to wrap this one up… AND HE STEPS OVER, LOCKING IN THE FIGURE FOUR LEG LOCK!!!

They are in the middle of the ring and Raven screams in agony, seemingly with no escape, WHEN JULIO REACHES THROUGH THE ROPES AND RAKES THE EYES OF JARRETT!!!

It’s enough to cause the momentarily blinded Jarrett to break the hold. The hold is broken as Raven manages to untangle his leg, but all he can do is roll away from Jarrett, holding his severely damaged leg at the same time. After rubbing his eyes, Jeff fights back to his feet… WHEN RAVEN HOBBLES FROM BEHIND FOR A BULLDOG!!!

JEFF SIDESTEPS RAVEN AND SHOVES HIM…

RAVEN COLLIDES WITH THE REFEREE!!!

The referee and Raven both crumble to the mat, and the opportunistic Jarrett grabs Raven’s injured leg… FIGURE FOUR LEG LOCK AGAIN!!!

NO!!!

AS JARRETT STEPS OVER… RAVEN SHOVES JEFF WITH A FOOT IN THE ASS…

SENDING HIM CRASHING SHOULDER FIRST INTO THE RING POST!!!

Desperation kicks in for Raven now, as he yells out to Julio, who quickly gets him a steel chair and slides it into the ring. With Jarrett still in the corner, Raven sets up the chair for it to be sat on. Raven then pulls Jarrett out of the corner and sends him to the ropes. When Jarrett bounces back… DROP TOE HOLD FROM RAVEN!!!

NO!!! JARRETT SOMEHOW PUTS HIS HANDS OUT TO GRAB THE CHAIR… STOPPING HIS OWN MOMENTUM!!!

JARRETT THROWS THE CHAIR TO THE OUTSIDE!!!

Unaware, Raven unknowingly turns into a kick to the gut, DDT FROM JARRETT!!!

Sensing his fearless leader is in trouble, Dinero slides into the ring and urgently charges at Jarrett. The champ meets Dinero with a kick to the gut, FOLLOWED BY THE STROKE!!!

With Dinero taken care of, Alexis Laree now slides in… AND LAREE JUMPS ONTO THE BACK OF JARRETT!!!

She clings on for dear life, trying to attack, but Jarrett easily throws her off. She gets back up and begs off, AND JARRETT SIMPLY SHOVES HER, SENDING HER TUMBLING TO THE OUTSIDE!!!

Having taken care of The Gathering, Jarrett can finally focus on his challenger again, GETTING HIM IN POSITION FOR THE STROKE!!!

NO!!! DESPERATION THUMB TO THE EYE FROM RAVEN!!!

The shot causes Jarrett to relinquish his grip on Raven, and Raven immediately falls back to the canvas. Meanwhile, the champ stumbles around the ring, grabbing at his eye, until MEMBERS OF SPORTS ENTERTAINMENT XTREME COME FROM THE CROWD!!!

DAVID YOUNG AND SONNY SIAKI LEAPS ONTO THE APRON…

BUT JARRETT KNOCKS THEM BOTH OFF WITH A RIGHT HAND EACH!!!

Jarrett points menacingly at GLENN GILBERTI and tells him to stay out of it… WHEN RAVEN COMES FROM BEHIND WITH A LOW BLOW!!!

Arming himself with a steel chair, Glen Gilberti slides into the ring, but Raven greets the leader of SEX with a right hand. As Raven begins to tee off on Gilberti, Young and Siaki get back in, and now all three SEX members triple team Raven. The attack continues… UNTIL TEAM EXTREME SPRINT TO THE RING!!!

JUSTIN CREDIBLE, PERRY SATURN AND THE SANDMAN
are here, and they brawl with SEX. All of the outside interference brawl around ringside and eventually to the back, except for Gilberti who manages to stick around. Back inside of the ring, Raven grabs Jarrett… SETTING UP FOR THE EVENFLOW DDT!!!

JARRETT SWITCHES OUT…

AND HITS THE STROKE!!!

JARRETT HOOKS THE LEG…

AND A NEW REFEREE RUNS OUT AND SLIDES INTO THE RING…

1…2…3!!!

NO!!!

RAVEN JUST GETS HIS SHOULDER UP!!!

The champion is in complete shock, he puts his hands on his head, thinking it was over. Unsure of what to do, Jarrett gets up, and grabs a hold of the referee, yelling at him, “THAT WAS THREE”! The flimsy, intimidated referee is adamant it was a two count, and eventually Jarrett accepts it. He now refocuses on Raven, bringing him back to his feet… TO HIT ANOTHER STROKE!!!

NO!!!

RAVEN CHARGES BACKWARDS, SENDING JARRETT CRASHING INTO THE CORNER…

SQUASHING THE NEW REFEREE IN THE PROCESS!!!

Both wrestlers stumble out of the corner, RAVEN LOOKS FOR THE EVENFLOW!!!

NO!!! JARRETT REVERSES INTO A MODIFIED BACK BODY DROP…

SENDING RAVEN CRASHING INTO THE CHAIR THAT GILBERTI INTRODUCED TO THE RING!!!

Raven is barely moving, as Jarrett is on all fours, trying to get to his feet. As this is happening, Gilberti renters, and this time he has Jarrett’s guitar with him. Gilberti hands Jarrett the guitar, but before he can talk… RAVEN LOW BLOWS GILBERTI!!!

As Gilberti crumbles to the mat and rolls to the outside, Jarrett takes a long, hard look at his guitar… AND HE THROWS THE GUITAR DOWN… OPTING TO DO THINGS THE RIGHT WAY!!!

Jarrett roughly yanks Raven to his feet… THE STROKE!!!

NO!!! RAVEN TWISTS OUT…

AND THEN PULLS JARRETT IN FOR THE EVENFLOW!!!

IT CONNECTS!!!

RAVEN HOOKS THE LEG…

THE REG HAS RECOVERED...

1…2…3

!!!

Winner: Raven @ 17:00

What an ovation! The reaction is huge as the arena erupts into cheers, Raven coming out of the biggest match of his life as the victor. Raven is given the belt, and he hugs it, before celebrating, although he’s moving rather slowly, still struggling with his left leg.

Regardless, Raven celebrates achieving his destiny. It’s a HUGE title change tonight, and the show ends with Raven standing in the middle of the ring, arms spread wide, title in his possession…

NWA-TNA

Nashville, Tennessee

The show opens up as expected, with The Asylum at full capacity. The noise is UNBELIEVABLE, the crowd clearly pumped for a big show. As the “TNA” chants from the fans die down, MIKE TENAY AND DON WEST are ready to welcome us to the show and run down some of the card.

15 MAN GAUNTLET FOR THE GOLD TO CROWN A NEW NUMBER ONE CONTENDER FOR THE NWA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP!!!

AMAZING RED AND JERRY LYNN DEFENDING THE NWA TAG TEAM TITLES AGAINST TRIPLE X!!!

AJ STYLES AND D’LO BROWN VS. DAVID YOUNG AND SONNY SIAKI WITH THE WINNING TEAM QUALIFYING FOR GAUNTLET FOR THE GOLD!!!

CHRIS HARRIS VS. JAMES STORM WITH THE WINNER QUALIFYING FOR GAUNTLET FOR THE GOLD!!!

TEAM EXTREME (NEW JACK, PERRY SATURN AND THE SANDMAN) VS. MIKE AWESOME AND THE NEW CHURCH IN A NO DISQUALIFICATION MATCH!!!

CHRIS SABIN VS. FRANKIE KAZARIAN

JIMMY RAVE VS. KID KASH

With that extensive run down of the card out of the way, lets focus on the show…

***OFFSPRING***

There’s a huge pop, and an incredible ovation that continues as the NEW NWA World Heavyweight Champion RAVEN steps through the curtain. He saunters down the ramp, not smiling, but definitely carrying an aura of content around, that didn’t previously exist. Once inside of the ring, Raven grabs a mic but has to wait some moments for the fans to finish with their appreciative standing ovation.

Raven: It feels like it has taken an absolute lifetime to get here, but at long last, the wait is over. My destiny has been fulfilled.

This gets a polite clap from the fans, but before Raven can continue…

***MY WORLD***

Well, it didn’t take long for Raven to be interrupted and of course, it’s by the former champ, JEFF JARRETT. Jarrett gets a mixed ovation as he gets into the ring, really paying attention to the fans because he can’t believe the half ovation he’s getting. Raven has a mic in his hand as well, a look of almost arrogant disbelief on his face.

Jeff Jarrett: I’m sorry to interrupt, Raven, but you see, I was asked to come out here and give you some props for last week’s match. But I’m not ready to do that yet because I just can’t accept the result. I can’t believe that Raven… That’s right… RAVEN… of all the people in the world, he’s the one that beat me to win the NWA World Heavyweight Title.

Jeff scratches his head, looking genuinely confused.

Jeff Jarrett: Think about the list of names to have held that belt… Lou Thesz… Harley Race… Terry Funk… Dustin Rhodes… Ric Flair…

The fans pop hard for each mention of these legends.

Jeff Jarrett: All those names and now Raven?

Jeff shakes his head in disgust at the attitude switch up.

Jeff Jarrett: Ugh, tell me this is all just a nightmare. I don’t see Raven fitting in with that list of champions.

Raven rolls his eyes and shrugs as Double J is speaking still.

Jeff Jarrett: And you don’t belong in the company of those legends because you didn’t do the right thing. Instead, it took SEX, The Gathering, the Extreme team, and then you Raven. You were last and you somehow managed to take that title from around my waist.

Jeff touches at his no belt having waist, almost subconsciously.

Jeff Jarrett: Last week proved what I already knew, Raven, you are a cancer. You might drag everybody along, and you might destroy this place. It’s just who you are, it doesn’t matter what side you’re on. That title needs to be around Jeff Jarrett’s waist because that title needs to be with tradition, which means it needs to be with me. I’m not wasting time, I want my rematch… TONIGHT!

It's difficult to tell whether Raven is for the match judging on his stoic facial expressions.

Raven: I don’t have an allegiance; I am my own man. I’m not with Hardcore wrestling or Sports Entertainment. No matter what happens from here, I’m on the side I’ve always been on, and that’s my side. Raven’s side!

Now Raven makes sure to look the former champ right in his eye.

Raven: Do you want to know what’s ironic you? How you can be such a hypocrite? You stand there, in your proverbial white hat and all, but you haven’t always done things the right way. After all, you’ve relied on SEX to keep your title for the last four months too. I don’t think you morally care about the fact that I used them, I think it’s about the fact that I used all of your buddies better than you did for once.

Double J isn’t happy and looks set to say more, but Raven stops him.

Raven: And now you want an immediate rematch, but again, that’s not what you gave people when you were champ. I’m going to tell you the thing you told me. Gather the troops, I’m going to tell you the same thing you told D’Lo and the same thing you told AJ Styles, and anybody else you just barely got by… EARN A TITLE SHOT!!!

Having said his bit, he’s managed to keep Jarrett speechless, as Raven steps through the ropes… ONLY FOR JARRETT TO CHARGE AT RAVEN AND KNOCK HIM OFF THE APRON!!!

Raven falls to the floor, much to the chagrin of the crowd. Jarrett meets Raven on the outside, but Raven had recovered, and now the two are trading blows around ringside.

Neither willing to move, just an all-out brawl. It went on for a few more moments, until a barrage of security and jobbers make it to ringside and they trap both competitors, effectively ending the fight…

In a random area in the back, FATHER JAMES MITCHELL is standing in front of MIKE AWESOME, and the remainder of THE NEW CHURCH.

James Mitchell: Tonight is the night. I promise a revelation for Team Extreme tonight as they see firsthand just what we can do.

Short and sharp from Father, who leaves the area, having technically finished for the day…

Match One
Jimmy Rave vs. Kid Kash

Not much to say here, to be honest. It’s basically a filler match, just trying to give Kash a bounce back win after he lost his title last week. Kash does manage to get back on track here, having his way with Rave for the most part… BEFORE HITTING THE MONEYMAKER!!!

KASH WITH THE COVER…1…2…3!!!

Winner: Kid Kash @ 4:35

Breathing fire tonight, Kash gets a negative reception, but he doesn’t care. He takes care of business and then turns and heads to the back…

We now head to the locker room of SPORTS ENTERTAINMENT XTREME, where GLEN GILBERTI stands in front of DESIRE, DAVID YOUNG, MIKE SANDERS and SONNY SIAKI, ready to rally the troops.

Glen Gilberti: Tonight I’m asking everybody, including myself, to put our egos to the side. We need to ensure that no matter what, no matter who, a SEX member will win the Gauntlet tonight.

The remainder of SEX all nod in agreement which Gilberti is happy with.

Glen Gilberti: I can’t stress enough how serious I am that it doesn’t matter who it is. If it’s me, awesome, great, I’m the champ, but it can be any of us. I need you all to follow my lead because I’ll do anything to bring power back to this group.

Again, they’re all on the same page, no objections coming from Young or Siaki.

Glen Gilberti: FOR SPORTS ENTERTAINMENT!!!

That gets them going. There’s some hooting and some hollering now, the group getting pumped up before the gigantic main event later in the night…

Match Two
AJ Styles and D’Lo Brown vs. David Young and Sonny Siaki w/Desire and Mike Sanders

Despite both having singles ambitions and being a relatively inexperienced team, this is another match where AJ and D’Lo look awesome as a team. They gel together really well in the ring, and they put together some damn good teamwork to really test their opposition.

As the match progresses, it looks like Young and Siaki are in trouble. Sensing this, DESIRE LEAPS ONTO THE APRON!!!

She distracts the referee with her assets, AS MIKE SANDERS GETS ONTO THE APRON… AND THROWS POWDER IN THE FACE OF D’LO!!!

NO!!! D’LO DUCKS AND THE POWDER GOES STRAIGHT INTO THE EYES OF SIAKI!!!

Sanders is in shock as Brown quickly knocks him off the apron with a right hand. Siaki is staggering around blindly, and he staggers straight into a SKY HIGH FROM D’LO!!!

Desire gets off the apron to check on Sanders, as D’Lo goes to take care of Young. This allows Styles to head up to the top rope… FROG SPLASH ON SIAKI!!!

AJ STAYS ON TOP FOR THE PIN…1…2…3!!!

Winners: AJ Styles and D’Lo Brown @ 9:08

The crowd give both men a great ovation after the match, as AJ and D’Lo share a hug and celebrate in the ring. Eventually they leave, and Sanders and Desire get into the ring to check on Young and Siaki.

Siaki, still with left over remnants of the power on his face is furious and begins to argue with Sanders. Irritated, Sanders starts to defend himself, albeit aggressively. And the two go back and forth.

Desire and Young try and keep the two at bay, as their arguing continues, and it’s clear for all to see, there are even more issues within SEX…

In the back, the blonde haired aptly named GOLDILOCKS is standing by, ready to conduct an interview.

Goldilocks: Please welcome my guests at this time, they are the NWA World Tag Team Champions… AMAZING RED AND JERRY LYNN!!!

Red and Lynn come into camera shot, in their gear, and with those coveted tag titles around their waists.

Goldilocks: Guys, a little later tonight you defend those tag team titles against Christopher Daniels and Elix Skipper of Triple X. What’s the game plan going into tonight?

Lynn looks over at Red, who smirks and takes the lead.

Amazing Red: Game plan is to do what we always do and that’s get the job done. You know, normally I’d be ready to get into an all-out war with no game plan after Daniels tried to attack me last week. But Jerry being my tag partner has been a blessing for my career. He has taught me so much and part of that is to maintain your composure and stick to the plan. That’s what we’ll do tonight, because that’s why we’re the champs.

Lynn looks impressed with the answer.

Jerry Lynn: I couldn’t of said it better myself, lets go finish getting ready.

They politely not at Goldilocks, who signs off and sends us back to ringside…

***

A video package plays showing some recent miscommunication between AMERICAS MOST WANTED. The video continues to hype the singles match tonight between CHRIS HARRIS and JAMES STORM, as well as the random rumours that Harris might be thinking about joining SEX.

***

Match Three

Gauntlet for the Gold Qualifying Match
Chris Harris vs. James Storm

These two have themselves a damn good match. There’s aggression as they work through their issues, but both men stick to the rules and have a clean match. It’s hard for either man to hit any of their big moves throughout, as there are plenty of reversals. They just know each other so well. In the end, Harris charges at Storm… BUT STORM CATCHES HIM WITH A FLASH SUPERKICK OUT OF NOWHERE!!!

STORM MAKES THE COVER…1…2…3!!!

Winner: James Storm @ 11:49

After the match, Storm gets his hand raised by the referee, and he gets a really respectful ovation from the fans. Eventually Harris gets back to his feet and approaches Storm. The two stare each other down, eye to eye, nose to nose, tension building, until Harris puts out his hand… AND THE TWO SHAKE HANDS… WHICH QUICKLY TURNS INTO A HUG!!!

The fans are pleased with this, as it looks like they sorted any issues they may have had in their match tonight. As the two now stand in the ring together, all smiles, we cut to the back to see GLEN GILBERTI watching on in the SEX locker room, and he’s shaking his head in disgust, unhappy with this latest development…

On commentary, MIKE TENAY and DON WEST hype tonight’s main event, the Gauntlet for the Gold, where a new number one contender to the NWA World Heavyweight Championship will be named. Some of the confirmed entrants so far in the fifteen-man match are: AJ Styles, D’Lo Brown, Glen Gilberti, James Storm, Jeff Jarrett and Mike Sanders…

Match Four
No Disqualification Match
Mike Awesome and The New Church w/Father James Mitchell vs. New Jack, Perry Saturn and The Sandman

Considering the men involved in this one, it’s probably no surprise that this is one of those typical Asylum brawls. There’s no real order to this match, and there are no legal men or tags. It’s jus six men involved in a big brawl, much to the delight of the fans in attendance.

It’s a relatively even match for the most part, but as the match progresses, there is one difference maker who seems to get stronger and stronger and that’s Mike Awesome. He uses his brute strength to just beat up and throw all of Team Extreme wherever he wants, until he eventually gets triple teamed. Awesome gets beaten down and held in position by Saturn and Sandman near the crowd area, as New Jack climbs high… NEW JACK CRUSHES MIKE AWESOME WITH A BALCONY DIVE!!!

Holy shit! Both men are worse for wear and barely moving after that, but the match continues. The Extremists have the momentum now, and they beat on The New Church through the crowd and back in the ring. Once in the ring, Saturn and Sandman get their hands on some kendo sticks… AND THEY GO NUTS WITH KENDO STICKS ON THE NEW CHURCH!!!

The domination continues, until JAMES MITCHELL GETS ONTO THE APRON!!! He begins yelling at Saturn and Sandman, getting their attention, ALLOWING SLASH AND SINN TO COME FROM BEHIND WITH LOW BLOWS!!!

This allows The New Church to get on top momentarily, but it doesn’t last long. After disposing of their opponents, Saturn and Sandman head to the outside, looking to take out Mitchell. The father runs up the ramp and towards the back but is stopped by JUSTIN CREDIBLE!!!

To a massive pop from the fans, Credible grabs Mitchell by the hair and rags him down the ramp, before rolling him back inside the ring. The Sandman and Saturn get back in as well, watching with joy, as Credible grabs one of the kendo sticks… WHEN CREDIBLE CRACKS A KENDO STICK OVER THE SKULL OF THE SANDMAN!!!

Everybody is in absolute shock, as Saturn instinctively moves towards Credible… SUPERKICK ON SATURN!!!

The fans are in disbelief, booing like crazy as a snarling Credible has turned his back on his extreme past. He’s not done yet either, as Credible hoists Saturn back up… THAT’S INCREDIBLE CONNECTS!!!

To make matters even worse, Credible then grabs Slash… AND PLACES SLASH ON TOP OF SATURN FOR THE PIN…1…2…3!!!

Winners: Mike Awesome and The New Church @ 8:00

After the match, shock is still running through the Asylum as Credible and Father Mitchell help Slash and Sinn up. Somehow, Mike Awesome has recovered, and disposed of New Jack, and he joins them all in the ring.

The five of them all celebrate together, getting plenty of heat, with Credible apparently a new member of the group, leaving with them up the ramp, looking completely comfortable…

In the back, we’re giving Goldilocks a break, as standing by with a mic in hand is TNA’s second interviewer, TERRY TAYLOR.

Terry Taylor: Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome my guests at this time. Not only are they a promising team, but both these men are scheduled to compete in the Gauntlet for the Gold tonight after winning a qualifying match earlier on in the show… AJ STYLES AND D’LO BROWN!!!

Still in their wrestling gear, albeit with white sweat towels wrapped around their necks, AJ STYLES and D’LO BROWN come into view.

Terry Taylor: AJ, D’Lo, as a team you guys seem unstoppable and one has to wonder if you are on your way to becoming the best tag team in TNA. With that being said, you have both made your intentions to chase the NWA World Heavyweight Championship clear, so what happens tonight when you have to compete against each other in Gauntlet for the Gold?

Styles and Brown share a smirk, before the veteran signals for the rookie to go first.

AJ Styles: As far as our tag team success, Terry, I have to give credit to D’Lo. He’s done it all in this business, whereas I’m still learning to navigate these shark infested waters, and his advice and composure has helped me get better each and every day.

D’Lo shakes his head.

D’Lo Brown: Nah, look Terry. AJ has all the talent in the world, and it’s together that we’re such a great tag team. But the truth is just like you said, we do both have the same goal, so tonight is a little bit different.

D’Lo smirks at Styles, who continues on now.

AJ Styles: Having that understanding that we both have the same goal means two things. It means we won’t hesitate to throw the other out if it means we earn the shot at the NWA World Heavyweight Championship. I’d also like to think it means that we can use our team work to our advantage and work together until it comes down to just the two of us.

AJ looks over at Brown, who nods, seemingly impressed with the plan.

D’Lo Brown: See? You’re thinking like a veteran already. Sounds like a plan to me. Good luck, man.

AJ Styles: Same goes to you.

The two share a nod and a handshake, before D’Lo leaves to the left of screen, and AJ to the right. Both men getting ready on their own for tonight’s amazing opportunity…

Match Five
Chris Sabin vs. Frankie Kazarian

This one is a quick sprint between two fan favourites, meaning it’s enjoyable and the fans get right into it from the get-go. It looks like it can go either way multiple times, as the guys demonstrate their flips, reversals and crazy fast paced action UNTIL KAZARIAN HITS THE WAVE OF THE FUTURE!!!

KAZ HOOKS THE LEG…1…2…3!!!

Winner: Frankie Kazarian @ 5:56

Frankie Kazarian is pumped after the match, celebrating in the ring, getting a solid reception from the fans. As Sabin licks his wounds on the outside, disappointed in his loss, Kaz continues to celebrate until we cut away…

Match Six
NWA World Tag Team Championship Match

Amazing Red and Jerry Lynn (c) defend against Triple X w/Low Ki

These two teams get together and put on a damn classic. Red and Skipper are there for the spots, whilst Daniels and Lynn also provide some stability and psychology for the match. It truly has everything, the fans are into it, and it’s another one that feels like it can go either way throughout.

Triple X do get a sustained heat period during the match, where they isolate Lynn, and beat him down. Of course, this means Lynn eventually makes the hot tag to Red, who comes in at an absolute frenetic pace. Daniels and Skipper are caught off balance and off guard, as Red goes to work, really cleaning house. As Red continues to dominate…

DAVID YOUNG AND GLEN GILBERTI MAKE THEIR WAY TOWARDS RINGSIDE!!!

Red gets distracted and Triple X are able to take him down with a Double Clothesline. However, after Daniels told Gilberti they didn’t need SEX’s help last week, he’s incensed so them here. Daniels leans over the top rope, yelling at them, “GET OUT OF HERE! With Daniels completely distracted, Skipper gets distracted as well… SO RED POUNCES WITH A CODE RED ON SKIPPER!!!

RED HOLDS ON FOR THE PIN…1…2…3!!!

NO!!!

THE REFEREE STOPS COUNTING, BECAUSE LOW KI PULLS THE REF OUT OF THE RING!!!

As the referee argues with Low Ki on the outside, Lynn sprints across the ring… PLANCHA FROM LYNN TAKES OUT SEX ON THE OUTSIDE!!!

Daniels quickly hurries to the outside to meet and brawl with Lynn, leaving Red and Skipper in the ring, as the referee slides back in as well. Red is in control, hammering away at Skipper, until he bounces off the ropes to build momentum… BUT LOW KI GETS ON THE APRON AND KICKS RED IN THE BACK OF THE HEAD!!!

The referee is again distracted by everything on the outside, meaning he doesn’t see it. Red meanwhile staggers into the centre of the ring… RIGHT INTO AN INSIDE CRADLE FROM SKIPPER…1…2…3!!!

WE’VE GOT NEW CHAMPS!!!

Winners: Triple X @ 14:59

Knowing they’ve gotten away with highway robbery tonight; Triple X don’t stick around. Low Ki grabs the titles as Daniels separates himself from Lynn, and Skipper hurriedly rolls out of the ring.

The trio celebrate as they back up the ramp. The fans are not impressed, but Triple X are, as we’ve got new tag team champions…

As the drama dissipates from the previous match, MIKE TENAY and DON WEST hype some of the matches announced for next week’s PPV…

THE NEW CHAMPIONS CHRISTOPHER DANIELS AND LOW KI OF TRIPLE X TO DEFEND THE NWA WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS AGAINST PERRY SATURN AND THE SANDMAN

AMAZING RED TO DEFEND HIS TNA X DIVISION CHAMPIONSHIP AGAINST ELIX SKIPPER

KID KASH VS. RON KILLINGS

AMERICAS MOST WANTED WILL TEAM UP TO FACE TWO UNANNOUNCED MEMBERS OF SEX

They then move on to discussing the Gauntlet for the Gold which is only a few moments away, and announcing that the winner will get their shot at the NWA World Heavyweight Championship in TWO weeks’ time on May 21st…

Match Seven
Gauntlet for the Gold

Winner gets a NWA World Heavyweight Championship Match

We start off with a barnburner of a combination here as the first entrant is AJ STYLES, and the second entrant is KID KASH. These two have a good battle, perhaps a preview of an eventual feud, which is plenty entertaining although neither get close to eliminating the other when it’s time for the next entrant.

ENTRANT #3 – LOW KI

Low Ki is in next, and he ends up being approached by Kash, but goes nuts with some of his kicks to cause Kash to crawl for mercy in the corner. The fans then get rowdy as Low Ki and AJ go nose to nose, and we get some action between two of the best young talent in the world. They continue to duke it out as we tick down for our next entrant…

ENTRANT #4 – DON HARRIS

We haven’t seen Harris on camera yet tonight, but he’s our first member of SEX in the match. For some reason, Don has to look strong, so he comes in and picks his spots, basically throwing around all three of his smaller opponents, but not scoring any eliminations.

ENTRANT #5 – JAMES STORM

ENTRANT #6 – GLEN GILBERTI

Still no eliminations as this one continues with the ring really starting to fill up. There are still no eliminations as we get to the next entrant.

ENTRANT #7 – RON KILLINGS

Killings comes in and knowing they’re booked next week, Kash looks to approach him… BUT KILLINGS GRABS KASH BY THE HAIR AND THROWS HIM STRAIGHT OVER THE TOP ROPE!!!

ELIMINATION #1 – KID KASH

Killings is the fresh man and uses his freshness to dominate, until he eventually starts working on Gilberti. Killings lifts Gilberti up for a Scoop Slam… AND KILLING TRIES TO HOIST GILBERTI OVER THE TOP ROPE… BUT HE HANGS ONTO THE TOP ROPE…

UNTIL KILLINGS GETS HIT FROM BEHIND…

BY THE ALREADY ELIMINATED KID KASH!!!

KASH NAILS KILLINGS WITH THE MONEYMAKER!!!

As a furious Kash leaves the ring, Gilberti picks up the scraps, grabbing Killings… AND GILBERTI HURLS KILLINGS OVER THE TOP!!!

ELIMINATION #2 – RON KILLINGS

As Killings gets eliminated, it’s time for the next entrant…

ENTRANT #8 – D’LO BROWN

D’Lo gets in and as per their previously agreed upon gameplan, D’Lo immediately helps AJ, who is being beaten on in the corner by Harris. Once AJ battles back to his feet, D’Lo and AJ send Harris backing into the ropes… DOUBLE CLOTHESLINE SENDS HARRIS OVER THE TOP AND TO THE OUTSIDE!!!

ELIMINATION #3 – DON HARRIS

Almost as if on cue, it’s now time for our next entrant…

ENTRANT #9 – RON HARRIS

Another member of SEX and the second Harris Twin enters the ring, and immediately stops Storm from attacking Gilberti. Harris almost stands as a wall for Gilberti, protecting the leader of SEX, as we get some more entrants.

ENTRANT #10 – JEFF JARRETT

ENTRANT #11 – MIKE SANDERS

Now Sanders is in, along with Harris and Gilberti as SEX now really begin working together and taking over the ring. They focus on Styles and Brown and look like they are in control… WHEN SANDERS CHARGES AT AJ… BUT AJ DUCKS AND BACK BODY DROPS SANDERS OVER THE TOP AND TO THE OUTSIDE!!!

ELIMINATION #4 – MIKE SANDERS

On the other side of the ring, D’Lo as managed to get Ron Harris half over the ropes, SO AJ COMES AND HELPS AND THEY GET HIM OUT TOGETHER!!!

ELIMINATION #5 – RON HARRIS

And now it’s time for some uneventful stuff as we get some more entrants…

ENTRANT #12 – SHARK BOY

ENTRANT #13 – BG JAMES

After a daring exchange, both Styles and Low Ki go over the top rope and land on the apron. They are both swinging away at each other, fighting for survival… WHEN GILBERTI CHARGES AT THEM AND SHOVES THEM OFF THE APRON!!!

NO!!! LOW KI FALLS TO THE FLOOR BUT AJ MANAGES TO HOLD ONTO THE ROPES AND KEEP HIS BALANCE!!!

ELIMINATION #6 – LOW KI

Meanwhile, on the other side of the ring, after rocking him with some of his awesome Uppercuts, JARRETT THROWS SHARK BOY OUT!!!

ELIMINATION #7 – SHARK BOY

And at the same time, after a heated exchange, JAMES STORM ELIMINATES BG JAMES!!!

ELIMINATION #8 – BG JAMES

ENTRANT #14 – ANDY DOUGLAS

Douglas comes in and automatically goes at Storm, rocking him with shots, before charging at Storm, but Storm sidesteps Douglas… AND USES HIS MOMENTUM TO SEND HIM FLYING OUT!!!

ELIMINATION #9 – ANDY DOUGLAS

ENTRANT #15 – AMAZING RED

Red comes in, but he’s relatively worse for wear from his previous match. He still does what he can to use his quickness to beat up everybody… UNTIL HE ATTEMPTS A SPRINGBOARD… BUT JARRETT TRIPS HIM UP AND FORCES HIM OVER THE TOP AND TO THE OUTSIDE!!!

ELIMINATION #10 – AMAZING RED

And we’re down to the final five which sees AJ Styles, D’Lo Brown, Glen Gilberti, James Storm and Jeff Jarrett. AJ and D’Lo pair off with Jarrett and Storm, whilst Gilberti does his best to take a breather in one of the corners. After Storm takes down Jarrett with a Neckbreaker, Gilberti sneaks from behind and rakes the eyes… AND GILBERTI THROWS STORM OUT!!!

ELIMINATION #11 – JAMES STORM

Now AJ and D’Lo renew their team to go against Jarrett and Gilberti. They all go at it, AND AJ MANAGES TO HIT JARRETT WITH THE STYLES CLASH!!!

Which allows Styles to help D’Lo and again as a team… AND THEY THROW GILBERTI OVER AND OUT!!!

ELIMINATION #12 – GLEN GILBERTI

And now the team look over at Jarrett, and AJ goes to walk towards him… WHEN BROWN COMES FROM BEHIND AND ELIMINATES AJ!!!

ELIMINATION #13 – AJ STYLES

And now with it down to Brown and Jarrett, the match becomes a regular singles match. D’Lo starts off well, pinballing Jarrett with right hands, before Jarrett gets a thumb to the eye, and bounces off the ropes… RUNNING STRAIGHT INTO A SKY HIGH!!!

Instead of going for the pin, Brown gets up and runs to the apron, ascending to the top rope… HE’S THINKING FROG SPLASH…NO!!!

GILBERTI COMES FROM NOWHERE AND PUSHES D’LO OFF THE TOP!!!

Brown staggers back up… JARRETT MEETS HIM WITH THE STROKE!!!

JARRETT MAKES THE COVER…1…2…3!!!

ELIMINATION #14 – D’LO BROWN

Winner: Jeff Jarrett @ 20:25

It’s a mixed reaction from the fans as Jarrett gets to his feet and has his hand raised in victory. ‘Double J’ closes his eyes in ecstasy, knowing he’s potentially only two weeks away from regaining the NWA World Title.

Gilberti watches on from the outside, applauding proudly, as D’Lo slowly tries to recover, looking severely annoyed with the way things have gone.

But the real story here is Jarrett on top, once again the number one contender.

Right then Stojy here’s some overdue feedback from me on some good old fashioned total nonstop action.

I remember Jarrett and Raven being a huge deal back in the day and nice promo exchange between the two even if it did remind me that Russo name a stable SEX. I liked the physicality between the two with a good tease from James Mitchell at the end.

Obviously these undercard matches are heavily recapped but they do shine a light on what a weird roster TNA had at this time. From latter day ECW and WCW guys to newly released WWE talent and the best of the indies too.

Americas Most Wanted were the best tag team from this time so cool to see them face off and also that Harris won’t be joining SEX. If Disco is unhappy then I’m happy.

The six man hardcore match is a lot of fun and Saturn is someone I hope has a decent run, very sad to see his career fall off the way it did. Credible showing up and joining the group is nice advancement and pays off the tease from earlier.

Is Chris Sabin vs Kazarian the most TNA match that could possibly take place? Has to be up there.

The tag title match was exciting and Triple X are such an awesome unit. Quite a lot of interference in this match but all advancing the story so no complaints from me.

Onto the gauntlet - firstly nice build up to Killings vs Kash next week. The rest of the match was solid and no surprise to see Double J pick up the win. Also very good use of D’lo and underrated guy for sure.

Overall it’s super solid stuff Stojy, almost like you’ve got quite a bit of experience doing this BTB stuff. Keep up the good work.

The show opens up with the camera panning around TNA’s home, The Asylum, where the rabid fans are making plenty of noise. They are ready for another jam-packed show, chanting “TNA, TNA, TNA”, as MIKE TENAY and DON WEST are at the commentary desk, ready to hype tonight’s card.

TWO OF THE THREE MEMBERS OF TRIPLE X, CHRISTOPHER DANIELS AND LOW WILL DEFEND THE TAG TITLES AGAINST PERRY SATURN AND THE SANDMAN

AMAZING RED WILL DEFEND THE X DIVISION TITLE AGAINST THE THIRD MEMBER OF TRIPLE X, ELIX SKIPPER

KID KASH WILL GO ONE ON ONE WITH RON KILLINGS

AMERICAS MOST WANTED WILL FACE GLEN GILBERTI AND SONNY SIAKI

AND OUR MAIN EVENT IS A STRANGE BEDFELLOWS MATCH OF SORTS AS AJ STYLES AND D’LO BROWN WILL TEAM UP TO TAKE ON THE NUMBER ONE CONTENDER JEFF JARRETT AND THE NWA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION RAVEN

Match One
Americas Most Wanted vs. Glen Gilberti and Sonny Siaki

Not too much to say about this one. SEX is pissed that AMW didn’t break up and one of them didn’t join SEX last week, so now we’ve got a match. Gilberti and Siaki try hard, but they just aren’t a full-blown team like AMW. In the end, the former tag champs are too good, as they clear the ring of Gilberti… AND DRILL SIAKI WITH THE DEATH SENTENCE!!!

CHRIS HARRIS MAKES THE PIN…1…2…3!!!

Winners: Americas Most Wanted @ 6:43

After the match, the fans cheer loudly for the fan favourite tag team, as Harris and Storm celebrate their victory. All the tension disappeared between the team, having worked through their supposed issues, they now motion that they have one thing on their minds, getting those tag titles back around their waists…

Next up, we get a video package…

***

A video plays, showing a recap of the confrontation to begin last week’s show, which lead to a brawl between the NWA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION RAVEN and the former champion, JEFF JARRETT.

We then cut to later in the night, where Jarrett wins the first ever Gauntlet for the Gold match to earn a rematch.

“RAVEN/JARRETT II… FOR THE NWA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP… NEXT WEEK”!

***

Back at ringside.

Don West: RAVEN VERSUS JEFF JARRETT… FOR THE NWA WORLD TITLE NEXT WEEK… IT’S GOING TO BE AMAZING!!!

Don West goes into super sell mode, on his own…

Because MIKE TENAY is standing in the middle of the ring, microphone in hand as always.

Mike Tenay: Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome to the ring, the man who is the former NWA World Heavyweight Champion, but also the man who earned the right to earn a rematch for the title next week by winning the first ever Gauntlet for the Gold… Please welcome JEFF JARRETT!!!

***MY WORLD***

It’s another mixed reaction for, leaning heavily towards heat now, as JEFF JARRETT steps through the curtain. Rocking an opened collared shirt and pair of jeans, ‘Double J’ doesn’t look to be in a good, which is the norm since he lost the title. Once in the ring, Jarrett stands, hand on hips, an aggressive stance, and stares down Tenay.

Mike Tenay: Jeff, thanks for taking the time before another big match to have this interview with me. Now Jeff, we all know the story, Raven fulfilled his destiny two weeks ago to win the NWA Title. Now you’ve earned the rematch for next week, but first, tonight, you have to team with Raven to face AJ Styles and D’Lo Brown, to other men gunning for a title shot. What are your thoughts?

Jarrett is clearly pissed off about it as he shakes his head, and takes a step closer to Tenay, so he can speak into the microphone.

Jeff Jarrett: I think the tag team match announced for tonight is a disgrace. I don’t know what TNA management is trying to pull.

The former champ takes a beat, trying not to let his anger get the best of him.

Jeff Jarrett: But that match will take care of itself tonight, and that’s not what I want to talk about. I want to talk about something else you said, Tenay. You see, you called it destiny and Raven talked about his destiny for the last four months. Raven said it was his destiny to become the NWA World Heavyweight Champion and I admit, I didn’t believe him for a second, but now I’m a believer. I’ve come to the decision that it just had to have been destiny.

A wry smirk comes across Jarrett’s face as he shrugs his shoulders.

Jeff Jarrett: Look at me and all of my career accomplishments and look at Raven. For Raven to ever beat me, something bigger had to be at play. Destiny, fate, call it whatever you like… Whatever it was, it had to be on Raven’s side. Because mark my words, there is NO WAY Raven is on my level as a wrestler and there is no way he can beat me again.

Yeah, it’s no longer mixed. Jarrett is just getting booed now, and he looks genuinely confused.

Jeff Jarrett: That’s not the reaction I should be getting from you people. You all don’t understand what’s at play here. You people don’t get it because Raven puts on a good show. Well, there’s more to being a good champion than just that, and Raven doesn’t care about anybody or anything but himself. Whereas I am exactly what represents a good champion. I care about the title, despite the reaction tonight, I care about you people, and damn it, I care about this company. I am what this company needs so that title needs to be around my waist.

More heat from the audience as the passionate Jarrett continues.

Jeff Jarrett: So as I said, I get it now, Raven’s destiny might have been to win the title, but that’s it. It’s my destiny to hold the title. This arena, this company, this whole thing, it’s all mine and Planet Jarrett, after a short pause, it goes back into orbit next week.

With that, Jarrett’s music hits and he quickly puts his sunglasses back on and exits the ring. He gets heat from the fans as he leaves, but he ignores for the most part…

We now head to the locker room of SEX, SPORTS ENTERTAINMENT XTREME. Inside are GLEN GILBERTI and SONNY SIAKI, fresh off a loss earlier tonight. They look dishevelled and annoyed, and to make matters worse, they are currently involved in a difficult conversation with the NWA TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS, TRIPLE X! CHRISTOPHER DANIELS, ELIX SKIPPER and LOW KI all look just as irritated as Gilberti and Siaki.

Christopher Daniels: I’ve told you for weeks on end now to stay out of our business, Glen, and you just don’t listen. Firstly, you almost cost us the belts, and secondly, Low Ki could be bringing us the NWA Title next week if you hadn’t screwed up and cost us the Gauntlet for the Gold.

Gilberti gets an almost pained expression on his face, knowing Daniels is right.

Glen Gilberti: Look, I’ve apologised for that, it was a mistake. I truly am sorry but we can still protect the belts.

To emphasise his point, the leader of SEX tries to touch the belt on Skipper’s shoulder, but Skipper pulls away.

Elix Skipper: You don’t get it. We ain’t need no protecting.

Gilberti raises his eyebrows, looking confused.

Christopher Daniels: What Elix is saying is we know the best part of SEX is Triple X. We aren’t rookies, we know a sinking ship when we see one… WE’RE DONE!!!

Gilberti tries to reason with them, but Triple X don’t even take a second look. All three members turn… AND TRIPLE X WALK OUT ON SEX!!!

Gilberti looks solemn and Siaki is unsure how to react, as a big portion of SEX has seemingly just quit the group…

Match Two
David Young vs. New Jack

This is a New Jack match, which means it’s just a clubbing filled brawl for a few minutes. Eventually, the referee loses control and doesn’t even call for a disqualification. Instead the referee just leaves the ring, and runs to the back, mainly because NEW JACK STARTS STABBING DAVID YOUNG IN THE FOREHEAD WITH A FORK!!!

With no referee to intervene or adjudicate, this one is getting rules a No Contest.

No Contest @ 4:56

There’s no respite with the bell signalling the end of the match, with New Jack continuing to go nuts with the fork, until Young is busted open, with blood trickling down his forehead.

New Jack looks to continue to beat up on Young, until NEW JACK GETS ATTACK FROM BEHIND…

BY THE HARRIS BROTHERS!!!

DON HARRIS
and RON HARRIS come in to save their fellow SEX brethren. The two begin stomping all over Jack, not letting him get back, and this keeps him down and relatively harmless.

The fans are not happy as the beat down continues… WHEN TWO LOUD CRACKS ARE HEARD!!!

AS DON IS DRILLED WITH A SINGAPORE CANE BY… PERRY SATURN!!!

AND RON IS DRILLED WITH A SINGAPORE CANE BY… THE SANDMAN!!!

Team Extreme make the save, as Saturn and Sandman go wild with Cane shots, giving The Harris Brothers no choice but to roll to the outside.

The fans are pumped now, as The Harris Bros make sure they grab Young with them, and begin backing up the ramp, before exiting completely

Inside of the ring, Team Extreme stands tall, with New Jack getting back to his feet and getting his hands on a live mic.

New Jack: Nah, nah, nah, we ain’t finished tonight. Justin Credible… You cracker… Why don’t you and the bitches you done jumped to get out here right now!!!

It’s a simple request from New Jack, which gets a pop from the fans, when…

***XXX GONNA’ GIVE IT***

Initial reaction is shock, both from the crowd and Team Extreme as they don’t get Credible and The New Church. Instead, TRIPLE X step through the curtain, looking ready for action. CHRISTOPHER DANIELS, ELIX SKIPPER and LOW KI stop halfway down the ramp, as Daniels wants to speak.

Christopher Daniels: Some friendly advice, you need to get your priorities in order. You need to worry less about the New Church and Father James Mitchell. You need to start to concern yourselves with worrying more about Triple X and the Fallen Angel…

With that, Daniels drops his mic, and a new ref runs down to get New Jack out of the ring and keep Skipper on the outside. It looks like our tag team title match is happening right now.

Match Three
NWA World Tag Team Championship Match
Triple X (c) w/Elix Skipper defend against Perry Saturn and The Sandman w/New Jack

Another mayhem filled contest here, which shouldn’t be surprising considering it involved members of Team Extreme. Saturn and Sandman put a hurting on the champs in the early stages, until the champs manage to take over. The faces come back, and this remains as chaos throughout, with the referee really struggling to maintain any semblance of law and order.

Saturn gets the hot tag which looks to get us cracking into the finishing run, however as Saturn does damage in the ring… ELIX SKIPPER NAILS THE SANDMAN ON THE APRON WITH THE SINGAPORE CANE!!!

The Sandman barely sells it, and just looks pissed… SO SKIPPER LOADS UP THE CANE AGAIN…

BUT THE SANDMAN SNATCHES IT OUT OF HIS HANDS… AND SANDMAN NAILES SKIPPER WITH THE CANE!!!

Skipper crumbles to the floor as a furious Sandman gets into the ring, still wielding his famous Singapore Cane. The ref begs Sandman to put the Cane down, but he’s to far gone by this point, and as Daniels approaches him… SANDMAN SMASHES DANIELS IN THE SKULL WITH THE SINGAPORE CANE!!!

BUT IT’S RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE REFEREE, WHO HAS NO CHOICE BYT TO CALL FOR THE DISQUALIFICATION!!!

Winners: Triple X @ 9:32

Heat engulfs the arena as the referee signals for the bell, and the decision is announced… AND THEN SANDMAN DECIDES TO NAIL THE REFEREE WITH THE SINGAPORE CANE AS WELL!!!

Sandman is in a rage, so is Saturn, and New Jack joins them as well, and Triple X decide to fight another day.

They all slowly back up the ramp, clutching their tag titles, deciding to live to fight another day…

WHEN TEAM EXTREME GET ATTACKED FROM BEHIND…

BY JUSTIN CREDIBLE, MIKE AWESOME, SINN AND SLASH!!!

Credible, Awesome and The New Church attack from behind, and they have a numbers advantage. The quartet are able to work together to overwhelm and beat down their extreme rivals.

Credible seems to be enjoying himself especially, feeling like he made the right decision. The attack continues, until JERRY LYNN APPEARS AND SLIDES INTO THE RING!!!

Lynn swings wildly at all four members of The New Church, doing what he can to keep them all at bay, until Credible scurries away. Lynn still rocks the other three… UNTIL CREDIBLE DROPS LYNN WITH A SINGAPORE CANE SHOT!!!

He’s not done either, as Credible drops the Cane and manhandles Lynn into position… THAT’S INCREDIBLE TO LYNN!!!

Meanwhile, Slash and Sinn have excited the ring and have set up a table on the outside. As the fans begin to buzz, Awesome looks at all the fallen members of Team Extreme, before opting to grab a hold of Saturn.

Awesome puts Saturn’s head between his legs… AWESOME BOMB OVER THE TOP ROPE AND THROUGH THE TABLE!!!

HOLY SHIT!!! A sick spot, and Saturn isn’t moving. The fans are in shock, but some still marking out for the epic moment. Having made their presence felt, The New Church leave the ring and exit the way they came, via the crowd.

Meanwhile, a whole bunch of medics and what not come down to check on Saturn, who still is not moving…

All that stuff at ringside is going to take awhile to sort out, so we head to the back, where GOLDILOCKS is standing at the interview set.

Goldilocks: Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome my guests at this time, they are teaming together in tonight’s main event… AJ STYLES AND D’LO BROWN!!!

AJ STYLES and D’LO BROWN both come into shot, nodding politely at the blonde interviewer, but they don’t seem to have the same chemistry with each other as normal. Goldilocks clearly notices this.

Goldilocks: Thank you for your time, but look, I’m just going to ask the obvious question here. Will you guys be able to get a long after D’Lo, you sneakily eliminated AJ from the Gauntlet for the Gold last week?

The mention of last week seems to irk Styles.

AJ Styles: Yeah, what the hell was that last week?

D’Lo holds his hands up, as if he’s proclaiming innocence to his annoyed tag team partner.

D’Lo Brown: Come on, AJ, it was every man for himself.

Styles stops to think for a moment, but still isn’t impressed.

AJ Styles: You’re right, I know that. But we had a conversation before the match last week, and I figured from the way we talked before the match, and the fact that we cleared half the ring as a TEAM… That we had an agreement and we were working towards the two of us in the finals.

Brown nods, an accepting look on his face, clearly not disagreeing.

D’Lo Brown: Yes, that’s true, we were. And as much as I respect you, AJ, we’re competitors first. I saw an opening and I took it and you would have done the same thing.

Styles’ face says that he wouldn’t have.

D’Lo Brown: Look, that was last week. Neither of us won, so it’s a moot point. There’s no use arguing.

AJ nods, but still remains silent and cold, so D’Lo continues.

D’Lo Brown: We need to focus on tonight. We have Raven and Jarrett tonight. We’re the better and if we win, my logic tells me that basically proves we both deserve to be in the World Title picture after next week.

That statement garners AJ’s interest again, and he nods in agreement, this time with more enthusiasm. D’Lo then offers his hand, and AJ is quick to accept, and it looks like all is good between these two before the main event…

***RAGE***

A negative reception greets the arrival of KID KASH. Dressed to compete, he trades insults with the fans on his way down the ramp… UNTIL KASH IS ATTACKED FROM BEHIND…

BY RON KILLINGS!!!

Kash’s opponent tonight has decided to get the jump on Kash. On commentary, Tenay and West put over the fact that Killings is furious after Kash came back in illegally last week, and cost Killings a chance at winning the Gauntlet for the Gold.

As they work themselves down the ramp, they trade right hands, until one hard blow at ringside. The shot causes Kash to go spaghetti legged and slip to his knees, and as Killings looks to continue the onslaught… KASH IS IN PERFECT POSITION TO SNEAK A LOW BLOW!!!

Killings is now the one to drop to his knees, clutching at his privates, as Kash gets a devilish grin on his face. KK goes under the ring and finds himself a steel chair… AND KASH DAMN NEAR TAKES KILLINGS’ HEAD OFF WITH A STIFF CHAIR SHOT TO THE UNPROTECTED SKULL OF KILLINGS (think Rock/Shamrock).

With Killings barely conscious, let alone ready to compete, Kash drags Killings up and rolls him into the ring. Kash then follows in and bullies the referee into calling for their bell to start their match…

Match Four
Kid Kash vs. Ron Killings

Killings is still out of from the chair shot, conscious but not all with it. Kash slowly brings Killings to his feet, and let’s Killings desperately attempt to swing some right hands, but they are slow, sloppy technique and off target. Kash chuckles to himself and then lands one hard right hand which sends Killings collapsing to the canvas.

Slowly and surely, enjoying himself all the way through, Kash hoists up the dead weight of Killings… MONEYMAKER CONNECTS!!!

KASH MAKES THE PIN…1…2…3!!!

Winner: Kid Kash @ 1:00

After the match, Kash snatches his hand away from the referee, and gets major heat as he stomps all over the fallen Killings.

Kash shows no signs of slowing down the attack, WHEN BG JAMES AND KONNAN SLIDE INTO THE RING!!!

They charge at Kash, James a lot faster than Konnan, however Kash escapes before they can do him any harm.

KK backs up the ramp, a big smile on his face, as BG and K Dawg check on their hurt friend…

The big screen comes to life as we see CHRIS SABIN standing by, in a pre-taped promo which was recorded earlier in the day.

Chris Sabin: Frankie Kazarian can call himself whatever he wants but I’m the future. I’m the future of the X Division, and I’m the future of TNA, not Frankie Kazarian. Speaking of which, what kind of grown man is named Frankie?

Sabin pauses and chuckles to himself, shaking his head as he does so.

Chris Sabin: Crappy name or not, I’m challenging Frankie to a rematch next week. Next week, I’m going to prove that I’m the one who’s going to lead the X Division to the future. It’ll be me and me only, not that idiot with a ponytail.

Some edgy stuff from the babyface Sabin here, especially when talking about another babyface, as the recording comes to an end…

Match Five
TNA X Division Championship Match

Amazing Red (c) defends against Elix Skipper w/Low Ki

Typical X Division spot fest between these two, which means it’s a hell of a lot of fun. Christopher Daniels is nowhere to be seen, but Low Ki is out with Skipper. There are a few times where Red looks to be building to much momentum, and Ki will interfere and do something on the outside, to put the match back in the favour of Triple X. He goes to the well one time to often though, and eventually Low Ki is caught interfering… AND THE REFEREE EJECTS LOW KI… SENDING HIM TO THE BACK!!!

It’s still a very competitive match when it’s down to a one on one, Skipper proving that he can well and truly hang with the best. The match comes to an end when both men are battling away on the top rope, jostling for position and trading shots, when Red is able to win the exchange… AND NAIL A SUPER CODE RED!!!

RED GETS THE PIN…1…2…3!!!

Winner: Amazing Red @ 11:30

After a gruelling match, Red is given his title by the referee, and he raises it in the air. Red soaks in the adulation from the fans, truly deserved, however the celebration is cut short…

AS RED IS ATTACKED BY KID KASH!!!

Not done causing havoc for the night, Kash attacks Red from behind, and considering Red’s exhaustion, it’s easy for Kash to get him up… KASH NAILS RED WITH THE MONEY MAKER!!!

Kash then stands over Red, grabbing the X Division title and raising it in the air, truly sending a message…

We switch away from the action in the ring and focus in on MIKE TENAY and DON WEST so they can try and convince people to buy next week’s pay per view card. Here’s how it currently looks:

RAVEN WILL DEFEND THE NWA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP AGAINST JEFF JARRETT

IT’S JUST ANNOUNCED THAT AMAZING RED WILL DEFEND THE TNA X DIVISION CHAMPIONSHIP AGAINST KID KASH

TRIPLE X, THIS TIME CHRISTOPHER DANIELS AND ELIX SKIPPER, WILL DEFEND THE NWA WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS AGAINST AJ STYLES AND D’LO BROWN

THE CHALLENGE HAS BEEN ACCEPTED SO CHRIS SABIN WILL GO ONE ON ONE WITH FRANKIE KAZARIAN

CHRIS HARRIS VS. LOW KI AS AMERICAS MOST WANTED LOOK TO BATTLE BACK INTO THE TAG TITLE PICTURE

Match Six
AJ Styles and D’Lo Brown vs. Jeff Jarrett and Rhino

The story here for the most part is the difference in the teamwork between the two teams and how they work together. Raven and Jarrett are incredibly hostile with each other throughout, and it seems to get worse each time one member of the team tries to tag the other.

On the other side of the ring, despite their interesting conversation earlier, it seems AJ and D’Lo truly have put it behind them. The two work together really well, continuing their amazing in ring chemistry, and our commentary team talk about how at this level, this team could certainly become the tag champs next week.

After struggling towards the end of the match, Jarrett crawls over and makes a reluctant tag to Raven. The World Champ gets in like a house on fire, really taking it to AJ… UNTIL RAVEN RUNS AT AJ WITH A CLOTHESLINE!!!

NO!!! AJ DUCKS…

AND RAVEN ACCIDENTALLY CLOTHESLINE THE RECOVERING JARRETT!!!

Jarrett stumbles through the middle rope and to the outside after the accidental shot, or at least we think it was accidental anyway. Back inside, AJ runs at Raven, but RAVEN SIDESTEPS AJ AND USES HIS MOMENTUM TO THROW HIM OVER THE TOP AND TO THE OUTSIDE!!!

It’s just Raven and D’Lo in the ring now and they trade right hands. Neither wants to back down, they go shot for shot, until Raven gains the advantage. After rocking D’Lo, Raven kicks him in the gut… EVENFLOW DDT!!!

NO!!! BEFORE HE CAN HIT IT… JARRETT GRABS RAVEN AND SMASHES HIM TO THE CANVAS WITH THE STROKE!!!

Jarrett is furious at Raven, mouthing off after the Clothesline, AS D’LO CRAWLS ON TOP OF RAVEN FOR THE COVER…1…2…3!!!

Winners: AJ Styles and D’Lo Brown @ 18:04

Awesome match and a big result for D’Lo and AJ who get a big win. As Jarrett heads outside, AJ joins D’Lo and the two celebrate a hard-fought victory.

Eventually, they leave, and when they do, Jarrett returns to the ring, having remained lurking around ringside. ‘Double J’ looks down at Raven and says, “IT’S MY DESTINY TIME NOW, RAVEN…MINE”!!!

Jarrett continues to stand over Raven, signalling that the NWA World Title will be around his waist, as the show ends.

END OF SHOW

Another week with the same opening as the camera pans around The Asylum, where the TNA faithful are making quite the spectacle. They are ready for another night of PPV action, chanting “TNA, TNA, TNA”, as MIKE TENAY and DON WEST are at the commentary desk, ready to hype tonight’s card.

RAVEN WILL DEFEND HIS NWA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP AGAINST THE FORMER CHAMPION JEFF JARRETT

AMAZING RED WILL DEFEND HIS TNA X DIVISION CHAMPIONSHIP AGAINST KID KASH

CHRISTOPHER DANIELS AND ELIX SKIPPER OF TRIPLE X WILL DEFEND THE NWA WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS AGAINST AJ STYLES AND D’LO BROWN

CHRIS SABIN AND FRANKIE KAZARIAN WILL HAVE A REMATCH

CHRIS HARRIS WILL FACE LOW KI AS AMERICAS MOST WANTED TO LOOK TO GET BACK IN THE TAG TITLE PICTURE

Match One
Chris Sabin vs. Frankie Kazarian

These two young up and comers had a terrific match a few weeks back, and they deliver the goods again. The fans are into it, as the two babyfaces go at it, although Sabin is a little more aggressive and on edge after losing their first match. Unfortunately for Sabin, the result remains the same, as after an exciting exchange… KAZARIAN CATCHES SABIN WITH AN OKLAHOMA ROLL…1…2…3!!!

Winner: Frankie Kazarian @ 10:31

Kazarian celebrates the win, getting some nice cheers from the fans, as Sabin sits in the corner of the ring, shaking his head in frustration…

Next up, a video package…

***

A video package plays highlighting the feud between TEAM EXTREME and THE NEW CHURCH. This includes footage from April 30th in which Perry Saturn (who is out indefinitely after last week) and THE SANDMAN won a Three-Way Tag Team match, which included THE NEW CHURCH, to become number one contenders for the NWA Tag Team Titles.

On May 7th, MIKE AWESOME and The New Church defeated Saturn, Sandman and NEW JACK in a chaotic six-man tag. The win came about when JUSTIN CREDIBLE turned-on Team Extreme, nailing a That’s Incredible on Saturn to set up the win for The New Church.

Last week The New Church, Credible and Awesome interfered and cost Sandman and Saturn their NWA Tag Team Title opportunity. After the match, Awesome basically wrote Saturn out of this BTB by giving him an Awesome Bomb, sending him over the top rope and through a table on the outside.

***

Once the video package is completed, we’re at the announcers desk with MIKE TENAY and DON WEST.

Mike Tenay: After everything that has gone on between these two groups of men, we can confirm that the war will rage on next week. Next week we will see Justin Credible and Mike Awesome team together for the first time ever to take on New Jack and The Sandman.

Don West:
And that’s not all, Mike. To cap it all off, I can’t believe this, it’s going to be… A FALLS COUNT ANYWHERE MATCH!!!

Mike Tenay:
I can only imagine the pent up brutality and destruction that these four men will unleash next week, especially since all parties have been banned from the building tonight. Next week is going to be one for the ages.

Tenay and West then come up with some cool way to segue us to the back…

At the interview set, where one of the worst interviewers of all time, GOLDILOCKS is standing by.

Goldilocks: Please welcome my guest at this, a man who has a lot going on at the moment… KID KASH.

KID KASH steps into shot, arrogantly chewing on his gum, wearing his short-sleeved shirt open with no buttons done. How cool.

Goldilocks: Kid Kash, I’ve got a pressing question on my mind. Are you worried at all about Ron Killings potentially interfering and costing you your TNA X Division Championship opportunity against Amazing Red tonight?

Kash scoffs at the question, showing no apparent concern.

Kid Kash: That boy will be lucky if he remembers his own damn name… Haha… Seriously though, I never intended to waste my time on Ron Killings. He wasn’t on my radar but the big stupid ape got up into my business.

KK shoves his index finger into his chest, further indicating that it was indeed ‘his’ business.

Kid Kash: I didn’t like it, but that’s fine. I understand it, his people do that type of thing, but he definitely learned a lesson because I got rid of him last week. Ron Killings is old news and I’m focused and ready for tonight. It has been too long and I’m going to get back what that stupid little pipsqueak stole from me three weeks ago.

Goldilocks is taken aback by the borderline racism and arrogance of Kash. He gives her one last up and down look, before walking away to prepare for his title shot…

Match Two
NWA World Tag Team Championship Match

Triple X (c) defend against AJ Styles and D’Lo Brown

This one is an absolute barnburner. Four of the best workers in the company, and potentially in the world at this time, give it their all and tear the house down. Triple X have the teamwork experience, and use that to their advantage, but AJ and D’Lo are so good individually, that they still come so close to gaining those tag titles on numerous occasions.

In the end, Skipper and Daniels have a strategy in mind to get rid of D’Lo and focus on AJ, as he’s received the brunt of the offense tonight. They grab a hold of Brown and send him falling through the middle rope and to the outside. With a sense of urgency about him, D’Lo bounces right back to his feet, wanting to be there for his partner… ARABIAN MOONSAULT FROM DANIELS TAKES DOWN D’LO!!!

Meanwhile, inside the ring, AJ SHOCKS SKIPPER WITH A LEG LARIAT!!!

AJ gets back up and sees Daniels standing over D’Lo. AJ angrily leans through the ropes, looking to pull Daniels back into the ring… DANIELS SMASHES ONE OF THE TAG TITLE BELTS INTO THE SKULL OF AJ AS HE LEANS THROUGH THE ROPES!!!

Daniels must have picked up the title when AJ was busy with Skipper. Styles staggers back towards the centre of the ring… AND SKIPPER GETS A SCHOOL BOY…1…2…3!!!

Winners: Triple X @ 16:02

There’s some applause from the effort from all four men, which dies down as the result sets in. Triple X have retained, and they stand tall, in celebration, before eventually heading to the back.

As AJ licks his wounds and ensures his forehead isn’t busted open, D’Lo recovers on the outside and grabs himself a mic before sliding into the ring.

Once inside, D’Lo helps AJ up and takes a moment to survey his partner, and the crowd.

D’Lo Brown: Look, AJ, I’ve got nothin’ but love for you, and this has been a fun little detour for both of us, but it’s time for us to both be honest.

AJ looks confused, whilst D’Lo gives him a knowing look.

D’Lo Brown: Doing this, toiling away in the tag division, neither of us wants to win the tag titles that much right now. That’s no disrespect to those NWA Tag Team Championships, they are one of the most prized possessions in our sport, but it’s not what we’re here for. AJ, we’re continually being paired together because SOMEBODY fears either of us getting another title shot and disrupting this whole Raven Jarrett deal.

Styles seems more on board with what D’Lo’s saying, but he seems a little coy about it too.

D’Lo Brown: We need to focus on what we both really want to overcome. We both need to refocus on the World Heavyweight Title!

BIG pop from the fans for that announcement, as AJ nods in agreement, before leaning into Brown’s mic.

AJ Styles: Well, D’Lo, thanks for everything, you’ve taught me a lot. It’s been fun…

The two then shake hands, garnering a great reception from the crowd, before they both exit separate sides of the ring, a sign of them taking their own paths moving forward…

Match Three
TNA X Division Championship Match

Amazing Red (c) defends against Kid Kash

Kash is maybe more determined than we have ever seen him to reclaim the X Division Title. There’s none of the arrogance he was portraying earlier tonight, he’s simply all business. What this means is that despite Red’s best effort, Kash dominated a fair portion of this match. At one point, Kash gets a little to aggressive, hammering away at Red with right hands in the corner. The referee gets to a five count, but Kash refuses to stop. Instead of calling for a disqualification, the ref attempts to get Kash away, and as Kash rears back for another punch… KASH ACCIDENTALLY ELBOWS THE REFEREE IN THE JAW!!!

Kash isn’t to fussed with the referee going down, turning his attention back towards Red, and landing a few more shots. With Red down on the canvas now, Kash heads to the outside and grabs his recent weapon of choice, a steel chair. Kash gets in the ring with the steel chair, waiting for Red to get back up… AND KASH RAISES THE CHAIR ABOVE HIS HEAD!!!

ONLY FOR IT TO BE SNATCHED OUT OF HIS HANDS FROM BEHIND!!!

BY RON KILLINGS!!!

Kash turns around, utterly confused with what’s happening… AND KILLING CRACKS THE STEEL CHAIR OVER THE SKULL OF KASH!!!

Killings disposes of the evidence, and then calmly heads outside the ring and back up the ramp. The fans are marking out from the Killings interference, as Red crawls across the ring… AND RED MANAGES TO DRAPE AN ARM OVER THE CHEST OF KASH!!!

It takes a few moments, but THE REFEREE RECOVERS TO MAKE THE COUNT…1…2…3!!!

Winner: Amazing Red @ 9:18

Barely having hits wits about him, the ever-fighting champion Red uses the ropes to pull himself up. He is presented the title from the referee and clutches it at his chest, knowing he came extremely close to losing it tonight.

He gets heaps of adulation from the fans as he celebrates, whilst a salty Kash rolls to the outside, fuming with the result…

We cut to the locker room of SPORTS ENTERTAINMENT XTREME. GLEN GILBERTI is sitting in the locker room, staring into the distance, as DAVID YOUNG, DESIRE, DON HARRIS, RON HARRIS and SONNY SIAKI all hang out in the locker room, shooting the shit. SEX is not booked on the show tonight, hence the laid-back nature of the group tonight, except for Gilberti, who continues to ponder, staring into the distance…

Match Four
Chris Harris vs. Low Ki

No partners at ringside for this one as these two have decided to come out alone and prove just who the better man is. These two young guns put on a pretty good match here, with them having a pure wrestling match, trading holds and going back and forth. As they match goes longer, tempers begin to flare and their competitive nature takes over, leading to the match turning into a down and out brawl.

Being the bigger man, and staying close to keep it a fist fight, and not allowing Ki to use his kicks, Harris is able to gain the advantage and build some real momentum. Ki gets a rake of the eyes to try and halt the onslaught, and as Harris backs away, grabbing at his eyes, Ki runs at him… BUT LOW KI RUNS STRAIGHT INTO A SPEAR FROM HARRIS!!!

There’s no pinfall attempt from Harris, as the exhausted competitor gets up, dragging Ki with him… GETTING HIM IN POSITION FOR THE CATATONIC!!!

WHEN WHAM!!!

HARRIS IS ATTACKED FROM BEHIND BY CHRISTOPHER DANIELS AND ELIX SKIPPER!!!

TRIPLE X
have attacked, and the referee has no choice but to call for the bell.

Winner: Chris Harris @ 12:00

Low Ki recovers and the fans get rowdy as it’s a three on one beatdown. Triple X are really doing a number on Harris, stomping and clobbering all over him…

WHEN JAMES STORM SLIDES INTO THE RING!!!

Storm hits everything that moves, holding all three members of Triple X at bay, until Harris recovers. Now AMW go to work, individually Clotheslining both Daniels and Skipper to the outside.

Being left alone, Low Ki looks to escape, but AMW catch him. Ki tries to shrug them off, but he can’t, and Storm yells towards Daniels and Skipper, “GET BACK IN ‘ERE OR HE GETS IT”!!!

Daniels and Skipper shake their heads, stressing and not looking happy, but refusing to get back in and put themselves at risk.

AMW look at each other and shrug, before STORM MUSCLES LOW KI INTO POSITION…

And Harris ascends up to the top rope… DEATH SENTENCE CONNECTS ON LOW KI!!!

Harris and Storm are right back up, feeling good about themselves, as they let the other two members of Triple X know that they are gunning for those tag titles…

Now we get a video package…

***

The clips start from April 30th, with then NWA World Heavyweight Champion JEFF JARRETT talking about the title being his birth right, whilst RAVEN says it’s his destiny to be champion. The two meet in the ring that night and despite interference from GLEN GILBERTI, Raven defeats Jeff Jarrett to win the title.

The following week Jarrett and Raven have a war of words, with Jarrett talking about how Raven ruins the lineage of the title. Raven tells Jarrett to earn a rematch and the two brawl, until security and unnamed jobbers break them up. Later on that tonight, Jarrett regroups and wins the Gauntlet for the Gold to earn the right to face Raven again.

Last week Jarrett is interviewed by Mike Tenay and cuts a promo on Raven not being on the same level as him. It must have been destiny at play, because there’s NO WAY Raven beats Jarrett again. Later that night, Raven and Jarrett are booked to form an unholy alliance but lose in a tag match against AJ STYLES and D’LO BROWN when Jarrett turns on Raven and nails him with The Stroke. The show went off the air with Jarrett standing over Raven, perhaps a sign of things to come…

Match Five
NWA World Heavyweight Championship Match

Raven (c) defends against Jeff Jarrett

This match starts off in a direct contract to the match they had a few weeks back. Whereas that one started tentatively as a wrestling match, there’s genuine dislike between the two now, so nobody is looking to apply a wrestling hold anytime soon. Instead we get a brawl, two men wanting to prove they are the best, beating the living daylight out of each other.

The referee struggles to maintain control, but opts against counting them out, as the action spills outside the ring. It then further escalates into the crowd, where they continue to duke it out, trading the advantage amongst the TNA fans. Raven gets things going his way as they continue to fight through the crowd, EVENTUALLY CLOTHESLINE JARRETT OVER THE CROWD BARRICADE AND TO THE OUTSIDE!!!

With Jarrett down on the floor at ringside, Raven takes the time to begin searching under the ring, and he pulls out a TABLE! The appearance of the table gets a huge ovation from the fans, as Raven positions it where he wants on the outside.

Not content with only using one weapon, Raven also gets himself a steel chair, with the referee clearly exercising A LOT of discretion to let this continue. As Jarrett makes it to his knees, RAVEN SMACKS THE STEEL CHAIR ACROSS HIS BACK!!!

Jarrett yells in agony, grabbing at his back, as the ever-serious Raven shows no emotion. Raven then hoists the chair above his head, ready to land another shot, but Jarrett EXPLODES and gets a kick to the gut. It’s enough for Raven to drop the chair and Jarrett scurries to it… JARRETT STABS THE CHAIR INTO THE MID SECTION OF RAVEN!!!

As Raven now drops to his knees, ‘Double J’ drops the chair for a moment and rolls Raven back into the ring. Jarrett then grabs a hold of the chair and looks to follow Raven in, but he pauses once he’s on the apron. The former champion throws the chair back to the floor, and points at his temple, rejoicing in his intelligence. “I AIN’T PLAYIN’ HIS GAME THIS TIME”!

After giving the fans his thoughts, Jarrett turns to enter the ring… BUT RAVEN CHARGES AT JARRETT AND KNOCKS HIM OFF THE APRON!!!

AND JARRETT CRASHES THROUGH THE TABLE ON THE OUTSIDE!!!

The “TNA” chants ring out through the Asylum, as Jarrett has just crashed and burned. Raven isn’t finished though, as he heads to the outside, and finds himself ANOTHER table. This one he slides into the ring and again, sets up where he wants it. With Jarrett only just beginning to stir, Raven goes and gets him and rolls him in the ring. This time Raven follows Jarrett in as well, but not before bringing the previously discarded steel chair with him.

Once Raven gets in the ring though, Jarrett somehow fights back, landing some haymakers. The two begin a slugfest, neither wanting to back down, as Raven is forced to relinquish his grip on the chair. As Jarrett begins teeing off, Raven lands a kick to the gut… EVENFLOW DDT!!!

NO!!! JARRETT SPINS BEHIND…

THE STROKE!!!

NO!!! RAVEN ELBOWS FREE!!!

Jarrett staggers backwards, and Raven quickly grabs the chair… CRACK!!! RAVEN SMASHES THE CHAIR ACROSS THE HEAD OF JARRETT!!!

Jarrett drops down to the canvas, and Raven throws the chair away. Looking at Jarrett with disdain, Raven decides he’s not finished, hoisting the dead weight of Jarrett up, and laying him across the table. After taking a deep breath, Raven heads up to the top rope… BUT JARRETT CRACKS HIM WITH A THROAT THRUST!!!

The blow shocks and stuns Raven and Jarrett climbs up, meeting Raven on top. Jarrett has the advantage now, landing a few more shots to soften up Raven. Jarrett then applies a modified Front Facelock, only to lift Raven… SUPERPLEX SENDS BOTH MEN CRASHING THROUGH THE TABLE!!!

The pop from the crowd is LOUD, as both men remain unmoving amongst the rubble. After what seems like an eternity… JARRETT PLOPS AN ARM ONTO THE CHEST OF RAVEN!!!

BUT RAVEN SOMEHOW FLOPS AN ARM ONTO JARRETT’S CHEST AS WELL…

THE REFEREE COUNTS…1…2…3!!!

Winner: ??? @ 13:40

The count is made but it’s clear the referee is confused as the bell rings. He has a strange look on his face and is unable to confirm with Jeremy Borash as to who won the match.

The fans begin to buzz, realising there’s some controversy here. Replays begin to play on the screen, and it shows both men’s shoulders are down, meaning it’s difficult to make a call here.

A few other referees are down, and the discussions are heated, but nobody can agree on a point. Suddenly, NWA BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEMBER LARRY ZBYSZKO walks down the ramp and joins the referees in the ring.

Both the competitors remain down as the discussion continues, and as the show goes off the air, a decision is yet to be made and just one questions remains.

Who is the champion?

NWA-TNA
May 28th, 2003
Nashville, Tennessee

After the usual opening with pyro and the camera panning around The Asylum, we head to the commentary desk at ringside, where MIKE TENAY and DON WEST are standing by.

Mike Tenay: Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to NWA TNA live on pay per view! I’m Mike Tenay, standing to my left is Don West, and what a night we have in store for you tonight. Last week’s episode of NWA TNA ended in controversy, with the NWA Title match between Raven and Jeff Jarrett ending in a double pin situation. We can confirm that Larry Zbyszko and the board reached a decision over the weekend. We can confirm that the NWA Title is officially vacant.

Don West: WOW, Mike, that’s huge. That changes the face of NWA TNA. There will be a statement in about an hour on what will happen with the title. What’s got my mind in a twist is that before the end of Jarrett Raven two last week, we had another match with title implications announced for tonight. AJ Styles versus D’Lo Brown was booked for tonight in a number one contender’s match.

Mike Tenay: So many decisions to be made by the board, and they’ll all have ramifications on the immediate future of NWA-TNA. Speaking of the NWA Championship and Raven, our cameras managed to catch up with Raven earlier tonight in the parking lot, take a look…

In the parking lot, we see RAVEN looking as tormented as ever, sitting on top of a truck trailer. As he looks down at the ground, deep in contemplation, he begins to speak.

Raven: A lot can happen in seven days. One week ago, everything I had worked so hard for was taken away from me. I was denied my destiny and I expect Jeff Jarrett will see to it that I’m once again on the outside looking in.

The former champion shakes his head in disgust.

Raven: That’s the power dynamic that I’m having to deal with right now. Nobody jerks off in Nashville without Jeff Jarrett owning part of his fist.

Raven speaking his version of the truth, takes a moment to let those words sink in.

Raven: Jarrett doesn’t want me competing against him for the NWA Title. He is milking his last name for all he can. And on commentary, Mike Tenay’s voice in support of Jarrett is like the literal sound of shit slipping through a drainpipe.

Another pause from Raven, who is clearly in a mood tonight.

Raven: Just look at tonight’s show, and that tells you all you need to know. Somehow Jeff Jarrett has crafted a number one contender’s match without me involved and has put me with the cowboys instead. That’s political manipulation at its best, as if to punish me, after everything I’ve done. Everyone knows it is my path of destruction over the last six months that has put TNA on the map. Well let me make it very clear to everybody; the last six months is nothing compared to what I am capable of. If my destiny is denied, believe me, so will everyone else’s.

He looks up at the camera, sending a message with his eyes, when there’s some rustling from some trees in the background…

AND RAVEN IS ATTACKED FROM BEHIND…

BY JEFF JARRETT!!!

Jarrett gets the upper hand, but Raven starts swinging back, and the two continue to trade blows on top of the truck. The brawl continues, neither man able to gain a definitive advantage, and then the footage from earlier tonight cuts out…

Now we’re back to MIKE TENAY and DON WEST at the announce desk, where they summarise the brawl, before going over the card for tonight’s pay per view:

AJ STYLES VS. D’LO BROWN, HOWEVER A DECISION IS STILL TO BE MADE ON WHETHER THIS WILL BE A NUMBER ONE CONTENDER’S MATCH

AMERICA’S MOST WANTED AND RAVEN VS. TRIPLE X

GLENN GILBERTI VS. JEFF JARRETT

JUSTIN CREDIBLE AND MIKE AWESOME VS. NEW JACK AND THE SANDMAN IN A FALLS COUNT ANYWHERE MATCH

AMAZING RED TO DEFEND THE X DIVISION CHAMPIONS AGAINST CHRIS SABIN, FRANKIE KAZARIAN, JASON CROSS, JERRY LYNN AND JIMMY RAVE IN A SIX MAN MATCH

SHARK BOY AND TONY MAMALUKE VS. THE NEW CHURCH

Match One
Falls Count Anywhere Match

Justin Credible and Mike Awesome w/Father James Mitchell vs. New Jack and The Sandman

Four men who all spent some amount of time in ECW, so that’s basically what we get here. A typically crazy, out of control extreme affair, with no order throughout, as they fight all over the place. They end up pairing off, with Awesome and Sandman battling it out in the ring and around ringside, whilst Credible and New Jack fight through the crowd. Sandman gets in control, taking Awesome to the apron, before setting him up… WHITE RUSSIAN LEG SWEEP OFF THE APRON AND THROUGH THE TABLE!!!

The crash through the table keeps both men down, as the fans cheer the big spot. With Awesome and Sandman out of action, we now focus in on the brawl in the crowd, where New Jack has softened up Credible enough to lie his prone body on a table. Jack climbs up onto the bleachers like only he can… JACK DIVES OFF THE BLEACHERS… CRASHING ONTO CREDIBLE AND THROUGH THE TABLE!!!

JACK STAYS ON TOP OF CREDIBLE FOR THE PIN…1…2…3!!!

Winners: New Jack and The Sandman @ 7:12

After the match, the fans cheer loudly, happy with the result, as Jack slowly battles to his feet. He works his way through the crowd, and back to ringside, where Sandman has also recovered.

The two nod at each other, content with their work, as they celebrate in the ring…

UNTIL NEW JACK GETS CRACKED WITH A KENDO STICK SHOT…

FROM SINN!!!

Before Sandman can react, HE COPS A KENDO STICK SHOT TO THE SKULL AS WELL…

FROM SLASH!!!

Both Jack and Sandman have nothing left to fight back, remaining down and out, as half of The New Church stand strong inside the ring, James Mitchell applauding in the background...

We cut to the locker room of SPORTS ENTERTAINMENT XTREME where GLEN GILBERTI stands front and centre, with DAVID YOUNG and SONNY SIAKI listening in. The rest of the ever fractured SEX aren’t in the room for one reason or another.

Glen Gilberti: Look, reduced numbers and all tonight, I need to admit, I know things have been rough lately. But tonight is the start of the renaissance of SEX. I’ve gotten a big opportunity tonight against Jeff Jarrett. That’s step one of the huge plan I’ve got to get all the power back.

Young and Siaki listen intently.

Glen Gilberti: That’s not even all. Even more than that, maybe the biggest news of all, I received a phone call no more than an hour ago, and things are about to change. Our true leader is coming back to support me tonight.

GG has a shit eating grin, as Young and Siaki look genuinely confused.

Glen Gilberti: VINCE RUSSO IS RETURNING!!!

Whoa, that’s some major news. Gilberti is happy, and this lifts the mood of the remainder of SEX as well. Spirits are up for what could be a big night for the group…

Match Two
TNA X Division Championship
Six Pack Challenge Match

Amazing Red (c) vs. Chris Sabin vs. Frankie Kazarian vs. Jason Cross vs. Jerry Lynn vs. Jimmy Rave

This is a ball to the wall spot fest, and it’s a hell of a lot of fun. Being former tag team champions and all, Red and Lynn strike up a partnership of sorts and do some fun double team stuff to see off the rest of the challengers. The match ends up deteriorating into an all out brawl on the outside of the ring, with only Red and Sabin in the ring. After a few moments, Jason Cross manages to remove himself from the carnage.

We almost forget about Cross as the brawling continues… UNTIL CROSS HITS A PLANCHA TO THE OUTSIDE… TAKING OUT ALL COMPETITORS ON THE OUTSIDE!!!

The “TNA” chants ring out from the fans due to the amazing X Division action, but that quickly stops, replaced by the fans buzzing and murmuring in surprise. With everybody down, DAVID YOUNG, GLEN GILBERTI AND SONNY SIAKI WORK THEIR WAY THROUGH THE CROWD AND MAKE THEIR WAY TO RINGSIDE!!!

Red and Sabin continue to duke it out in the ring, not realising the company at ringside, when Red manages to drop Sabin down to the canvas. As this happens, SONNY SIAKI LEAPS ONTO THE APRON… DISTRACTING THE REFEREE!!!

With Sabin down, Red bounces off the ropes to build some momentum… WHACK!!!

GILBERTI HITS RED IN THE BACK WITH THE CHAIR!!!

Red staggers back to the middle of the ring, holding his back… SPINEBUSTER FROM DAVID YOUNG!!!

SEX have taken out Amazing Red. Sabin gets up, noticing what’s happened and just sort of shrugs his shoulders. Siaki stops distracting the ref… SO SABIN PINS RED…1…2…3!!!

Winner: Chris Sabin @ 10:18

The fans are little in shock, unsure how to react as the referee presents Sabin with the X Division Title. Sabin celebrates, pumped, despite the lukewarm reaction from the Asylum crowd.

As the celebration continues, the SEX members return to the ring. Sabin stares at them, and they look, until GILBERTI OFFERS SABIN A SEX shirt.

Sabin looks around at the crowd, who implore him not to, but Sabin carelessly shrugs and ACCEPTS THE SHIRT!!!

Sabin has the SEX shirt in one hand, the X Division Title in the other, and he’s all smiles, now getting boos from the crowd.

SEX celebrate with him before they all leave the ring together, including Sabin. On commentary, they talk about this is a huge step one for what could be a MAJOR night for SEX, as well as what a BIG deal it is that Sabin is the new champ.

Towards the entrance of The Asylum itself, we see RON KILLINGS entering the arena. He only manages to take a few steps once inside… UNTIL HE IS ATTACKED FROM BEHIND!!!

BY KID KASH!!!

Kash attacks with right hands to the head, but Killings immediately starts fighting back with some rights of his own. The two go back and forth… UNTIL KILLINGS RAMS KASH HEADFIRST INTO A WALL!!!

With Kash dazed, Killings grabs him by the hair… AND THROWS HIM OUT THE DOOR AND INTO THE PARKING LOT!!!

‘The Truth’ follows Kash to the outside and continues to beat him up, until he finds as garden hose. Truth wraps the hose around the neck of Kash… KILLINGS IS CHOKING THE LIFE OUT OF KASH WITH A GARDEN HOSE!!!

As Killings applies as much pressure as possible, some jobbers from the locker room and HEAPS of security intervene and manage to pry Killings off of Kash.

They all have to work their asses off to keep the two men apart, as sneak attack after sneak attack, has led to these men both wanting to destroy each other…

At the interview set, GOLDILOCKS is standing by with two former tag team partners, who remain friends, but are set to do battle in just a few moments. AJ STYLES stands to her right, whilst D’LO BROWN stands to the left, both remaining polite, but looking ready for battle.

Goldilocks: AJ, D’Lo, thank you so much for your time. It was only last week you both agreed to part ways as a team and focus on your singles endeavours which both surrounds becoming the NWA World Heavyweight Champion. I don’t think anybody really thought that one week later, you would be doing battle for the right to potentially become the number one contender to that very title. What are your thoughts?

D’Lo decides to speak first.

D’Lo Brown: It is what it is, Goldy. Once we agreed to end our team last week, I would have been ready to go at it that very next moment for a title shot. It’s nothing personal tonight, and AJ knows that. I just want that title.

Brown now takes a step back amicably, allowing Styles to have his say.

AJ Styles: I couldn’t agree more with everything D’Lo just said. One way or another, tonight, we’re going to tear the house down. D’Lo, good luck…

The two then share a polite handshake, remaining friends who’re almost ready to fight…

Our cameras pick up the NEW TNA X DIVISION CHAMPION CHRIS SABIN walking through the parking lot. He looks to be heading towards his car, title around his waist despite being in casual clothes, when he lets something fall out of his hand and land on the floor.

The camera zooms in to show that Sabin has just discarded the SEX shirt. Conveniently seeing this, is interviewer TERRY TAYLOR, who gives chase to the champion.

Terry Taylor: Chris, Chris, firstly congratulations on becoming the TNA X Division Champion tonight, even if it was under nefarious means. I have to ask, what are you doing and why are you joining SEX.

Showing more of the nonchalant attitude he had earlier tonight, Sabin just shrugs his shoulders carelessly.

Chris Sabin: It’s all basic math really. Buddying up with SEX was better than being on the receiving end of a three on one attack.

The champ pauses, having given an explanation, but Taylor still looks a little confused.

Terry Taylor: So wait, what exactly does that mean? Whose side are you on in this whole SEX thing?

Sabin smirks, chewing his gum arrogantly.

Chris Sabin: I don’t feel like giving a definitive answer so let me tell you this. Now that I’m in TNA for good as the X Division Champion, all bets are off. I’m on whatever side works best for Chris Sabin.

This time Sabin decides the interview is over, turning away and leaving Taylor to sign off…

Match Three
Number One Contenders Match

AJ Styles vs. D’Lo Brown

Despite being friends and knowing each other quite well, these guys don’t hold back. They give it their all, doing all they can to earn the right to get an NWA Title shot. They pull off plenty of huge spots, keeping the fans along for the ride. There is a big time moment where D’Lo is able to leave AJ lying face down on the floor outside the ring. D’Lo then climbs onto the apron and ascends up to the top rope… FROG SPLASH ACROSS THE BACK OF AJ OUTSIDE THE RING!!!

The fans mark out for the spot, whilst both men remain down. Of course, they are serenaded with chants of “TNA”, as Brown slowly battles back to his feet. He uses the crowd barricade for support, before rolling into the ring. D’Lo wants the referee to count AJ out, but instead the referee heads outside the ring. There is genuine concern for AJ’s health as the ref checks on him.

Brown has hands on hips, remaining inside the ring, but even he looks a little worried for his friend. Suddenly, the audience begins to buzz… WHEN D’LO GETS SPUN AROUND!!!

KICK TO THE GUT… EVENFLOW DDT!!!

FROM RAVEN!!!

Raven came from seemingly nowhere and took out D’Lo and nobody truly understands why. Just as quickly as he came down, Raven exits through the crowd. Meanwhile, AJ has pulled himself up using the ring apron, and the referee slides back into the ring, albeit confused with D’Lo being down. Once AJ gets in the ring and gets to his feet, D’Lo has started to attempt to get up as well, but he’s easy pickings. Not knowing about the interference and assuming D’Lo is hurt from the Frog Splash bump… AJ CONNECTS WITH THE STYLES CLASH!!!

AJ ROLLS INTO THE PIN…1…2…3!!!

Winner: AJ Styles @ 12:05

The ovation probably isn’t as loud as it should be, the fans ultimately confused with how this one ended. AJ doesn’t really notice though, getting up and celebrating, knowing he’s one step closer to his goal, whilst D’Lo gets assistance from the referee.

Styles continues to celebrate, until the scene fades…

We’re back at the interview set where TERRY TAYLOR is standing by.

Terry Taylor: Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome my guest at this time, he is a member of the NWA Board of Directors… LARRY ZBYSZKO!!!

The camera pans out to reveal a serious looking LARRY ZBYSZKO wearing a suit, and more importantly, he has the NWA World Heavyweight Title in his hands.

Terry Taylor: Larry, we’ve heard rumours all night that further decisions have been made regarding the recently announced vacant NWA World Heavyweight Championship. Are you able to shed any light on exactly what’s going to happen with the title?

Larry nods curtly, taking his job as a member of the board very serious tonight.

Larry Zbyszko: I can, Terry. You see, I looked at that tape maybe one hundred times trying to see if Raven or Jarrett had even the slightest edge so that I wouldn’t have to do this. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to find one, so due to both men being defeated, the board and myself opted to declare the NWA World Title as currently VACANT!

Taylor nods, not moving the mic from Larry’s mouth, as we basically knew everything he just said already.

Larry Zbyszko: In terms of moving forward from tonight, I do have some consolidated news that I can share. After the amazing display we just saw in that ring a few moments ago, AJ Styles is the number one contender. The timing is complicated but that victory will get AJ the title shot he deserves. And AJ won’t have to wait long, because it will be a triple threat match next week between AJ, Jarrett and Raven for the vacant title.

Taylor’s eyes go wide in shock and Zbyszko smirks, seemingly enjoying himself for the first time tonight with the big announcement. The mood changes pretty quickly though, as suddenly an infuriated JEFF JARRETT storms onto the set. He rips off his shades, staring down Larry with bewilderment.

Jeff Jarrett: What kind of crap is that Zbyszko? It should just be me and Raven.

Hands on hips, looking pissed, Jarrett awaits a response.

Larry Zbyszko: You need to watch your tone, and quite frankly, you should be thanking me for including you after your recent conduct. Besides, this shouldn’t be a problem for you right? Everyone knows you can beat anybody in this company no matter what. What have I heard you say before? This company was founded on your back.

Jarrett is frustrated, unsure how to respond, when a cocky looking GLEN GILBERTI joins the party.

Glen Gilberti: I’m sorry to interrupt but I just want to have a quick word with Jeff. I’m looking forward to the match tonight, friend.

Double J scoffs.

Jeff Jarrett: Glen, we ain’t friends.

Gilberti smirks, ignoring Jarrett.

Glen Gilberti: It’s a shame really, you would have been great in SEX. But that ship has sailed, we have no use for you without the belt.

Jarrett rolls his eyes, growing impatient.

Glen Gilberti: Okay, okay, I’ll get to the point, that’s why I’m here. We’re facing each other in tonight’s main event, and I have a little wager for you tonight. Let’s make things interesting, I challenge you to put up your number one contender spot on the line for next week.

Jarrett actually looks at Larry and Taylor, wondering if he heard correctly. He shakes his head in disbelief.

Jeff Jarrett: Come on, Glen, are you crazy?

GG smirks, full of confidence tonight.

Glen Gilberti: I’m not crazy, Jeff, I just know nothing can go wrong for me tonight. There’s no way, not with everything I’ve got on my side.

Gilberti pauses for a moment, thinking over his next words carefully.

Glen Gilberti: I’m so confident that I’ll even disband SEX if I lose.

Jarrett or the others can’t believe it, eyes wide in shock. GG just looks smug and sure of himself.

Jeff Jarrett: You’re right, you’re not just crazy. You’re stupid and crazy. You better kiss SEX goodbye, because you’ve got yourself a deal.

The two continue to stare each other down, Larry and Taylor ensuring no violence ensures, as we cut back to ringside…

Match Four
Americas Most Wanted and Raven vs. Triple X

This was a great match, but it was hindered by one participant who basically refused to be active, and that was Raven. It was clear he was upset at being in the match and didn’t want any part of it, therefore he barely did anything, opting to remain on the apron for a majority of the contest. Triple X seemed to find this to be some blatant disrespect, and at one point in the match, Christopher Daniels walked right up to Raven… AND DANIELS SLAPPED RAVEN RIGHT IN THE FACE!!!

Whilst this was supposed to earn Raven’s respect, what it really did was piss him off. From there, he gets more involved in the match, surprisingly working effectively with AMW. As expected with these six man tags, we get to a point where all hell breaks loose, and AMW pair off with Daniels and Low Ki, brawling away on the outside.

Inside of the ring, that leaves Elix Skipper and Raven. With Raven down, Skipper heads to the outside and grabs one of the tag titles. Skipper gets back in, lining up Raven with the title… WHEN THE TAG TITLE GETS SNATCHES OUT OF SKIPPER’S HANDS!!!

BY ALEXIS LAREE AND JULIO DINERO!!!

Skipper is distracted by the intervention, completely in shock, and as the duo leave the ring, SKIPPER TURNS STRAIGHT INTO AN EVENFLOW DDT!!!

RAVEN HOOKS THE LEG…1…2…3!!!

Winners: Americas Most Wanted and Raven @ 15:22

The bell rings and the action pauses on the outside, AMW, Daniels and Ki turn their attention to the ring, to see Raven celebrating alongside Laree and Dinero.

Raven gets a nice ovation from the fans, as he signals that the NWA World Title will be back around his waist next week…

Our commentators to a bit of a recap of what has occurred throughout the night, allowing the participants from the previous match to clear out, so we can get on with the next one…

Match Five
Shark Boy and Tony Mamaluke vs. The New Church w/Father James Mitchell and Mike Awesome

Yeah, this one is an absolute massacre. The New Church DESTROY both their opponents from start to finish. Once they’ve finished toying with their food, they throw Shark Boy to the outside, BEFORE HITTING MAMALUKE WITH A DOUBLE CHOKESLAM!!!

SINN MAKES THE COVER…1…2…3!!!

Winners: The New Church @ 2:34

There is no real celebration from The New Church, as instead Awesome gets in the ring and immediately drags Mamaluke up. Awesome puts him in position… AWESOME BOMB OVER THE TOP ROPE AND TO THE FLOOR!!!

MAMALUKE’S BODY LANDS WITH A SPLAT!!!

Father James Mitchell lets out a demonic grin, as Shark Boy slides back in the ring, and fights for his life against The New Church. The numbers are to much though and Shark Boy almost immediately begins getting beaten down, until…

NEW JACK AND THE SANDMAN SLIDE INTO THE RING!!!

SANDMAN GOES NUTS WITH KENDO STICK SHOTS TO SLASH AND MIKE AWESOME!!!

AND NEW JACK STAPLES THE HEAD OF SINN!!!

The two former ECW wrestlers came armed, and they clear the ring with their weapons. The fans cheer loudly as The New Church opt to retreat, whilst Shark Boy slowly fights his way to his feet.

Shark Boy notices New Jack, and realises he made the save… AND SHARK BOY GIVES NEW JACK A HUG!!!

New Jack is freaked out by it, and immediately shoves him away, leaving Shark Boy to put his hands out in a confused manner. On that awkward note, we head to our announce position…

At our commentary position, MIKE TENAY and DON WEST run down the current card for next week’s show:

AJ STYLES VS. RAVEN VS. JEFF JARRETT OR GLEN GILBERTI IN A TRIPLE THREAT MATCH FOR THE VACANT NWA TITLE

AMAZING RED AND JERRY LYNN VS. AMERICAS MOST WANTED VS. THE NEW CHURCH VS. THE SAT IN A NUMBER ONE CONTENDERS MATCH FOR THE NWA TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS

TRIPLE X DEFEND THE NWA TAG TITLES AGAINST NEW JACK AND THE SANDMAN IN A NO DISQUALIFICATION MATCH

MIKE AWESOME VS. SHARK BOY

Match Six
NWA Title shot vs. SEX’s Future
Glenn Gilberti vs. Jeff Jarrett

Disco Inferno and Jarrett were never really going to put on a good match, so instead we get an overbooked spectacular. A bunch of smoke and mirrors are thrown into this one to make it seem interesting and cool. As the match progresses, the ref takes a bump and is out of action, so DAVID YOUNG AND SONNY SIAKI APPEAR AT RINGSIDE!!!

JARRETT SHOULDER CHARGES YOUNG OFF THE APRON… SENDING HIM CRASHING INTO THE CROWD BARRICADE!!!

As Jarrett turns around though, Siaki swings at him with a wild right hand… No, Jarrett ducks… JARRETT TAKES OUT SIAKI WITH THE STROKE!!!

Looking like a world beater, ‘Double J’ gets back up, and notices Gilberti stirring. Jarrett takes a few steps towards him… WHEN GILBERTI THROWS POWDER INTO THE EYES OF JARRETT!!!

Jeff is blinded, clawing at his eyes to try and wipe them free, AND GILBERTI HITS THE CHARTBUSTER!!!

Both men remain down, utterly exhausted, and the referee is still out of it as well. The fans buzz, wondering what will happen next… WHEN VINCE RUSSO GETS INTO THE RING… ARMED WITH A BASEBALL BAT!!!

Albeit very slowly and struggling, Gilberti gets to his feet, as the fans give a raucous mixed reaction for Russo. Once Gilberti realises what’s happening, he jumps up and down, pumping his fist, celebrating like he crazy. Gilberti then begins to pull Jarrett up after signalling for Russo to hit him… AND RUSSO SMACKS THE BAT INTO THE BACK OF GILBERTI INSTEAD!!!

Everybody is in absolute shock, as Gilberti crumbles to the canvas. Russo leaves the ring and ringside immediately, taking his bat with him. Meanwhile, Jarrett slowly recovers and has no idea about anything that just went down. Gritting his teeth, Jarrett slowly drags Gilberti up, BEFORE HITTING THE STROKE!!!

JARRETT MAKES THE COVER…1…2…3!!!

Winner: Jeff Jarrett @ 10:00

Jarrett was probably favoured over Gilberti, but he still gets a VERY mixed reaction as he celebrates his victory. SEX is no more, thanks to Vince Russo, and Jarrett has no idea.

Instead he continues to celebrate, whilst our commentary team wonder just why Russo did what he did.

Jarrett feels on top of the world right now though, and is ready to reclaim the NWA World Title next week…

Top guy Raven? Triple X? Shark Boy and New Jack sharing a segment? Russo swerve at the end?

This, this is what the people (me) want. Solid build for the three way, although the idea of AJ and Raven sharing a ring with Disco Inferno for any title, let alone the NWA title, is a hilarious image that I'm devastated we'll never see. Ah well, I can't wait to see what you do with Russo

We’re back with the standard show opening this week. The cameras circle The Asylum, where the obsessed TNA tribe make plenty of noise. Amped up for a huge night, they chant “TNA, TNA, TNA”, as MIKE TENAY and DON WEST are at the commentary desk, ready to hype tonight’s card.

AJ STYLES VS. JEFF JARRETT VS. RAVEN FOR THE VACANT NWA WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP

D’LO BROWN VS. JULIO DINERO

AMAZING RED AND JERRY LYNN VS. AMERICAS MOST WANTED VS. THE NEW CHURCH VS. THE SAT IN A NUMBER ONE CONTENDERS MATCH FOR THE NWA WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS

TRIPLE X DEFEND THE NWA TAG TITLES AGAINST NEW JACK AND THE SANDMAN IN A NO DISQUALIFICATION MATCH

MIKE AWESOME VS. SHARK BOY

Match One
D’Lo Brown vs. Julio Dinero w/Alexis Laree

Pretty simple booking here, it’s a showcase for D’Lo after he fell out of the World Title picture last week. He fell out due to Raven interfering and helping AJ Styles beat Brown last week in a number one contenders match. Not only is this match a pure showcase for D’Lo to regain some momentum, but in an indirect way, he’s chasing revenge on Raven, by beating up one of his avid followers.

So that’s what happens. Julio doesn’t disgrace himself by any means, but D’Lo is just better. When it’s time to wrap things up, D’LO NAILS THE SKY HIGH!!!

Clearly angry after last week, instead of getting what could be an academic three count, Brown ascends to the top rope… LO DOWN CONNECTS!!!

D’LO HOOKS THE LEG…1…2…3!!!

Winner: D’Lo Brown @ 7:54

The win gets a great reception from the fans, as whilst taking a step down on the card this week, Brown is still incredibly over. He bops his head like only he can in celebration mode, before signalling to the world that he still has the intent to become world champion…

As Laree helps Dinero clear out from the ring, we get a video package…

***

The video focuses on one man’s journey so far in TNA and that’s VINCE RUSSO.

Russo debuts in TNA as Mr Wrestling III, helping JEFF JARRETT win the NWA World Heavyweight Championship.

Jarrett was unhappy with the help he didn’t ask for, which caused issues between Jarrett and Russo.

Russo formed Sports Entertainment Xtreme or SEX, prioritising entertainment and feuding with Jarrett and other wrestlers sticking up for tradition.

Russo takes a leave of absence and GLEN GILBERTI takes over leadership of SEX.

Russo returned last week, hitting Gilberti with a bat to help Jarrett beat him, and finally put an end to SEX.

***

Match Two
Number One Contendership for NWA World Tag Team Championships
Amazing Red and Jerry Lynn vs. Americas Most Wanted vs. The New Church vs. The SAT

Look, the only BTB I write copious number of words even for the matches that don’t matter so much is WCW. This isn’t getting that treatment. This match is a means to an end, to crown new number one contenders. It’s rather uneventful and there was only every one team winning this. AMW MANAGE TO ISOLATE JOEL MAXIMO AND HIT HIM WITH THE DEATH SENTENCE!!!

Harris keeps an eye out for any interruptions, AS STORM MAKES THE COVER…1…2…3!!!

Winners: Americas Most Wanted @ 7:00

The fans are happy again with this result, as AMW are pumped up as they celebrate their victory. Soaking in the adulation from the fans, it’s clear Storm and Harris are ready to regain those NWA Tag Team Titles…

Much like the opener, as the losers of the match lick their wounds and collect themselves at ringside, a video package plays…

***

The video package comes to life, showing some of the more recent history between THE NEW CHURCH and TEAM EXTREME.

April 30th, 2003 – THE SANDMAN and PERRY SATURN won a Three Way Tag match which included The New Church, to earn a shot at the NWA World Tag Team Championships. During this match, MIKE AWESOME attempted to interfere on behalf of The New Church but was thwarted by JUSTIN CREDIBLE and NEW JACK.

May 7th, 2003 – Mike Awesome and The New Church, accompanied by FATHER JAMES MITCHELL defeat The Sandman, Perry Saturn and New Jack in a No Disqualification match. They win when Justin Credible turns on his extreme brothers, hitting Sandman with a Singapore Cane.

May 14th, 2003 – After an unsuccessful attempt at becoming tag team champions, The Sandman and Perry Saturn were attacked by Mike Awesome, Justin Credible and the rest of The New Church. The attack culminates with Awesome delivering an Awesome Bomb to Saturn over the top rope and through a table on the outside. Saturn has not been seen since.

May 28th, 2003 – After a week off, both teams resumed hostilities. The Sandman and New Jack managed to defeat Mike Awesome and Justin Credible in a Falls Count Anywhere match. As Sandman and Jack went to the ring to celebrate, SINN and SLASH laid them out with Singapore Canes.

Later that night, The New Church defeated SHARK BOY and TONY MAMALUKE. After the match, they continued to beat down their opponents, until Sandman and New Jack ran them off with Singapore Cane shots and a staple gun.

Match Three
Mike Awesome w/Father James Mitchell vs. Shark Boy

Maybe outside of the opening few moments, where Shark Boy tries to stick and move, this is a demolition job. Awesome decimates Shark Boy, overpowering him at will, and throwing him around the ring. Shark Boy bumps around like a lunatic, making this complete and utter squash match enjoyable to watch. Once he’s done playing with his food, AWESOME DRILLS SHARK BOY TO THE MAT WITH THE AWESOME BOMB!!!

AWESOME PINS SHARK BOY…1…2…3!!!

Winner: Mike Awesome @ 2:13

For the first time tonight, the fans aren’t happy with the victory, as Awesome gets his hand raised by the official. He quickly scares the ref off though, and then Mitchell raises Awesome’s hand instead.

Father Mitchell looks down at Awesome, contemplating, before then looking back at Awesome with pure evil in his eyes. “PUT HIM THROUGH A TABLE!!!

The crowd can’t help themselves and they mark out as Awesome heads to the outside and PULLS A TABLE FROM UNDERNEATH THE RING!!!

Awesome slides the table into the ring and follows back in himself… ONLY FOR AWESOME TO GET MET WITH PUNCHES TO THE HEAD…

FROM NEW JACK AND THE SANDMAN!!!

The two extremists pinball Awesome around, until he manages to collapse to the canvas and roll outside. Father James Mitchell and Awesome begin retreating up the ramp, so Jack and Sandman begin helping up Shark Boy.

Having taken quite the beating, he’s a little jittery and shaky, until he notices that New Jack has saved him… AND FOR THE SECOND WEEK IN A ROW, SHARK BOY GIVES NEW HACK A HUG!!!

It gets a BIG reaction from the fans, as he’s done that two weeks going. Jack still looks uncomfortable as all hell with it, although he is less annoyed than last week. With this strange relationship developing in front of us all, what will happen next…

It’s about time we get a lengthy segment on this show, so we head to a pre-taped interview from earlier today. MIKE TENAY is sitting on a sofa, and on the other side of the sofa, is a man looking very pleased with himself. Donned in a fancy dress shirt and a smile on his face is the NEW TNA X Division Champion CHRIS SABIN. After letting the scene set for a few moments, Tenay begins.

Mike Tenay: Chris Sabin, the TNA X Division Champion, thank you so much for agreeing to speak to me here today. Now many of TNA fans have a question that’s front of mind for me to ask you and that is what is your association with SEX, and after the result of last week’s main event, are SEX still together?

Sabin feigns boredom, beginning to polish his title, before scoffing in a disrespectful manner.

Chris Sabin: I couldn’t tell you; Tenay and I really don’t care. I don’t have any sort of allegiance to SEX, or what was SEX. After all, I was in sex for about an hour before it died.

The champ really doesn’t care about SEX, and the reaction has caught Tenay off guard.

Mike Tenay: Regardless of your current relationship with SEX, your short term alliance did hurt somebody. Former champion Amazing Red has enacted his rematch for next week. Do you feel bad about how you won the X Title from Red?

Sabin dead pans Tenay, wanting him to know he’s being serious.

Chris Sabin: No, not really. SEX wasn’t hungry for Chris Sabin; SEX was hungry for the X Division Championship. If it wasn’t me, they would have moved on to somebody else in the back. Someone else would have won with SEX’s help.

Tenay gives Sabin a judging look, but the guilt free champ doesn’t notice.

Chris Sabin: And whilst I might have used SEX’s help, I damn sure didn’t need it. I’m the future of the X Division. As a matter of fact, I’m the future of TNA in general, and these aren’t just words. They are facts. Not like that rube Frankie who claims he’s the future.

There’s dislike written all over the features of Sabin at the mention of Kazarian. Meanwhile, Tenay’s eyes go wide in excitement at his mention.

Mike Tenay: I’m glad you brought up Frankie Kazarian. Another impressive young athlete here in TNA, and he’s also a guy who has a right to a title match having beaten you twice. I wonder, wh-…

Sabin blows off Tenay’s question, talking over the top of ‘The Professor’.

Chris Sabin: Two words, Tenay, non-title. All the matches you’ve mentioned don’t matter because it was before I won the belt.

Sabin taps the title on his waist, but gets to his feet, looking a little irritated.

Chris Sabin: You know what? This interview is over. You don’t seem too impressed to be getting the chance to be interviewing THE Chris Sabin. This has been some embarrassing journalism from you, maybe I should get some representation. I can’t be associated with old crocks like you now that I’m famous.

Still seated, Tenay is in absolute shock, whilst Sabin just struts off the set, without a care in the world…

We’re getting another pre-taped segment as this time SCOTT HUDSON is sitting in the bleachers of the empty Asylum. Empty except for the man sitting next to him, a focused JEFF JARRETT.

Scott Hudson: Jeff, considering you’re just a few hours away from arguably the biggest challenge of your career, I wanted to say thanks for taking the time out of your busy schedule. Tonight, you face Raven and AJ Styles in a Triple Threat Match for the vacant NWA World Heavyweight Championship. What are your thoughts on your opponent’s tonight?

‘Double J’ takes a sharp breath, nodding and he exhales, the body language of somebody knowing he’s up against it tonight.

Jeff Jarrett: I’ve had my fair share of battles with Raven and I’m sure there’s plenty more where that came from. As for AJ, the kid, I don’t even know how good he might be. He’s got all the potential in the world and his career has only just begun.

Jarrett paying AJ with some real respect here.

Jeff Jarrett: But even for me here in TNA, this is a first. This is probably my toughest challenge yet and I suspect this is punishment for how I was behaving over the last few months. I’m a man, I accept that, I can also accept when I get it wrong. I admit I got a little carried away with the whole Raven situation. From the bottom of my heart, I’m sorry for that.

Unlike Sabin earlier, Jarrett seems genuine. Hudson nods, acknowledging Jarrett’s answer, before prepping his next question.

Scott Hudson: Another situation as you called it which I wanted to ask you about is what’s the status on your association with Vince Russo?

The former champion takes his shades off, ensuring to look Hudson right in the eye.

Jeff Jarrett: There’s nothin’ to talk about here. I have absolutely no association with Russo.

On that note, Hudson signs off and we head back to ringside, where we’re ready for the next match to get underway…

Match Four
NWA World Tag Team Championships
No Disqualification Match
Triple X (Christopher Daniels and Low Ki) (c) w/Elix Skipper vs. New Jack and The Sandman

The first match of the night which could go either way, and the audience gets to really sink their teeth into. We’re in The Asylum and it’s 2003, but you would have thought it’s 1997 in Philly. That’s the chaotic nature of this one, thanks to the brawling and weapon heavy tactics of Jack and Sandman. To keep things even and in check, despite not being a legal participant, Skipper constantly gets involved in the match to assist his Triple X comrades.

Skipper continues to be a thorn in the side of the extremists, as he goes from keeping things level to giving his team a huge advantage. As it looks like Jack and Sandman are going to fall to the numbers game, SHARK BOY RUNS DOWN FROM THE BACK AND TO RINGSIDE!!!

Skipper is caught off guard as Shark Boy spins him around and tees off with right hands. Despite the beating he took earlier, Sharky is full of beans as he overwhelms Skipper, who does his best to create space between the two. Eventually, they brawl their way up the ramp and to the back, and now the numbers game is even.

This allows Sandman and New Jack to initially fight back and then begin to dominate. It looks like we might have new champions, as Sandman has the time to set a table up in the middle of the ring. He then grabs the battered Daniels and takes him to the top rope… SETTING UP FOR THE ROLLING ROCK THROUGH THE TABLE!!!

BUT HE STOPS…

BECAUSE THE SANDMAN NOTICES JUSTIN CREDIBLE AND MIKE AWESOME SPRINTING TOWARDS THE RING!!!

Sandman tries to ready himself, and keep a grip on Daniels, but he’s in a horrible position… AND CREDIBLE KNOCKS SANDMAN OFF THE TOP ROPE WITH A SINGAPORE CANE SHOT TO THE SKULL!!!

At a different corner of the ring, Mike Awesome is climbing up to the top rope, but New Jack tries to stop him. Jack lands a few right hands, causing Awesome to teeter, almost losing his balance… BUT THEN CREDIBLE NAILS NEW JACK WITH A LOW BLOW FROM BEHIND!!!

As Awesome steadies himself, Credible hoists Jack up, and hands him over to Awesome… AWESOME BOMB TO NEW JACK… OFF THE TOP ROPE AND THROUGH THE TABLE!!!

Credible watches on in awe, only to allow Sandman to clobber him from behind. Awesome tries to fight himself out of the rubble, but Sandman gets his hand on a Singapore Cane and grabs Awesome from behind… WHITE RUSSIAN LEG SWEEP!!!

The Sandman quickly scrambles to his feet… INTO THE THAT’S INCREDIBLE FROM JUSTIN CREDIBLE!!!

Credible does the damage and backs away, noticing that Daniels and Ki are getting back into the ring. Credible gestures with his hand as if he’s holding open the door for them, telling them, “THEY’RE ALL YOURS”!

With that, Credible helps Awesome to his feet, and having done what they wanted to, they leave rather uneventfully. They get plenty of heat from the crowd to, whilst inside the ring, with Ki keeping guard, Daniels pulls up Sandman… AND HITS HIM WITH THE LAST RITES!!!

DANIELS HOOKS THE LEG…1…2…3!!!

Winners: Triple X @ 12:47

Not exactly an inspirational triumph but it’s a victory nonetheless and Triple X scurry to get their belts and get the heck out of dodge. Boos ring out from the irritated fans but when Daniels and Ki get to the top of the stage.

They decide to pause, turn back to the ring and pose with the belts. After soaking in the moment and getting more heat, they turn to leave… BUT DANIELS TURNS STRAIGHT INTO A SUPERKICK!!!

BY JAMES STORM!!!

WHILST LOW KI TURNS STRAIGHT INTO A SPEAR!!!

BY CHRIS HARRIS!!!

Just like that, AMW have sent their long time rivals a message. To the delight of the fans, they stand over Triple X, grabbing a hold of the tag titles and talking plenty of trash…

As things settle down around ringside, we get another video package…

***

The video focuses on the journey of AJ STYLES, JEFF JARRETT and RAVEN in TNA. Their respective journeys and what they’ve done so far.

We then see some highlights of the Raven/Jarrett feud, including their two matches together. The first ending with Raven achieving his destiny and defeating Jarrett to win the NWA World Championship.

The second ending in a draw, which is what set up tonight’s main event. Meanwhile, AJ Styles beat D’Lo Brown with the help of Raven of all people, to make it into this match.

The grandest tradition in all of professional wrestling, the NWA World Heavyweight Championship is currently vacant. Which of these three men will be the new champion?

AJ Styles. Jeff Jarrett. Raven.

***

Back at ringside, before we get to the main event, MIKE TENAY and DON WEST promote some stuff currently announced for next week’s PPV:

CHRIS SABIN DEFENDING HIS NEWLY WON TNA X DIVISION CHAMPIONSHIP AGAINST THE FORMER CHAMPION AMAZING RED

NEW JACK AND SHARK BOY WILL TEAM UP FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER AGAINST THE NEW CHURCH

MIKE AWESOME VS. THE SANDMAN IN A TABLES MATCH

THE UNLIKELY TANDEM OF JERRY LYNN AND FRANKIE KAZARIAN WILL TEAM UP TO TAKE ON TRIPLE X

Match Five
NWA World Heavyweight Championship
Triple Threat

AJ Styles vs. Jeff Jarrett vs. Raven

This is a match that happened in real life that suits what I want to do moving forward, so we’re just saying that not a lot of changes here. The three men battle hard, there’s no favouritism as they all go out of their way to prove that they are the best in the business today. Despite being younger and less experienced in big matches, AJ proves he’s got what it takes to hang, looking really impressive.

Raven begins to get on top, truly looking like the ace of the company, so AJ and Jeff form an unlikely alliance and keep him down. Raven begins using weapons to fight back though, eventually throwing ‘Double J’ to the outside, and focusing on Styles. After some back and forth, RAVEN HITS AJ WITH THE EVENFLOW DDT!!!

RAVEN HOOKS THE LEG…1…2…3…NO!!!

RAVEN IS PULLED OFF THE COUNT… BY SHANE DOUGLAS!!!

The entire arena is in shock as Douglas has made his TNA debut. Raven sees red and begins swinging at Douglas, and the two battle through the crowd, eventually disappearing. Raven lets his anger get the most of him there, whilst AJ and Jeff are left to battle it out for the title. They have a good back and forth until both collide with the referee, and all three men, including the referee are down.

Suddenly, the fans begin to stir, BECAUSE VINCE RUSSO APPEARS!!!

The writer extraordinaire comes in and picks up Jarrett’s guitar. He measures Styles, waiting for him to get up… NO!!!

RUSSO TURNS ON A DIME AND BREAKS THE GUITAR OVER JARRETT’S HEAD!!!

Major pop for shock value as Jarrett drops, and AJ is shocked as well. He then slowly gets up, drags the nearly unconscious Jarrett up… STYLES CLASH!!!

AJ MAKES THE COVER…1…2…3!!!

Winner: AJ Styles @ 15:12

It’s THE biggest pop of the night for our new NWA World Heavyweight Champion AJ Styles. He gets up, and celebrates, getting a terrific ovation, until Russo steps back into the ring.

Murmurs of confusion echo throughout, everybody unsure of what will go down… WHEN RUSSO AND AJ SHARE A HUG1!!

They weren’t in it together all along but they now, and the fans love it (for shock value). The two celebrate, a plan well done and a new champion in down as the show fades away…

It’s a familiar site as the show comes to air, with the cameras panning around the jam packed Asylum. After a shocking end to last week’s show with AJ Styles and Vince Russo joining force, there’s a sense of anticipation in the air. Anticipation and the chants of “TNA, TNA, TNA” from all the fans who love Total Non Stop Action. It isn’t long before MIKE TENAY and DON WEST yell over the raucous crowd, hyping the card for tonight’s pay per view extravaganza:

AJ STYLES AND D’LO BROWN VS. AMERICAS MOST WANTED IN A MATCH WHICH WAS APPARENTLY BOOKED BEFORE THE CONCLUSION OF LAST WEEK’S MAIN EVENT

CHRIS SABIN WILL DEFEND THE TNA X DIVISION CHAMPIONSHIP AGAINST AMAZING RED

THE UNLIKELY DUO OF NEW JACK AND SHARKBOY VS. THE NEW CHURCH

MIKE AWESOME VS. THE SANDMAN IN A TABLES MATCH

DAVID YOUNG VS. RON KILLINGS

FRANKIE KAZARIAN AND JERRY LYNN VS. TRIPLE X

With the commentators done selling the show, it’s time to start the real stuff the only way we can after last week…

***I AM***

The ovation is MASSIVE because this is what everybody has been waiting for, as the NWA World Heavyweight Champion AJ STYLES struts through the curtain. Title around his waist, AJ stands at the top of the ramp, arms out wide, enjoying the moment. As Styles has his individual moment, he then begins to walk down the ramp, and a few steps behind him, VINCE RUSSO appears.

In his leather jacket, Russo looks confident as he joins AJ in the ring. Once the music dies down and AJ’s celebration is complete, Russo gets his hands on a mic. Before he can speak, the appreciate fans start up a “THANK YOU RUSSO” chant. Russo seems genuinely taken aback by the reaction.

Vince Russo: You can chant my name all you want, you can love and adore who I associate myself with, but it doesn’t change my opinion of all you. That’s the opinion that you are all hillbilly hicks.

BIG TIME heat for Russo, with the fans being happy to turn on him immediately. In an interesting turn of events, AJ doesn’t react at all.

Vince Russo: But I’m not out here tonight to talk about me or my thoughts, I want to talk about this man standing next to me. AJ Styles is the man who is going to lead TNA into the future. This man is so young yet so good, he’s the NWA World Heavyweight Champion. AJ is further along in his career three years in than any all time great was. And yes, that includes Jeff Jarrett.

A smattering of applause for the Styles hype as Russo humbly hands over the mic to the new champ.

AJ Styles: AJ Styles, Mister TNA, standing in the ring next to Vince Russo might shock a lot of people but it shouldn’t. You see, I had already said that I knew what I had to do now to win the title. Those weren’t just words; I knew that Vince Russo was the missing puzzle piece. Now aligned with Russo, I stand here successful because I did what I said I would do at the start of the year.

It’s a mixed reaction, loud but mixed. The fans aren’t sure how to react to AJ at the moment. The champ looks to continue speaking when…

***DOWN WITH THE BROWN***

Another loud cheer emanates from the fans, this time for the arrival of D’LO BROWN. It’s clear there’s some excitement to see D’Lo’s reaction to his friends alignment with Russo. Brown bops down the ramp, head shaking and all like only he can, before stepping inside the ring.

After grabbing a mic, without moments hesitation, D’Lo stomps over to AJ, and holds out his hand… THE TWO SHAKE HANDS!!!

This gets a nice reaction from the fans as off mic, D’Lo congratulates Styles on his title win. He then shifts his attention towards Russo, staring him down, and it’s an icy stare to.

D’Lo Brown: Obviously everybody knows where I’ve come from, it’s the same place Russo is from, and AJ, all I can say is be careful. I have a lot of history with this man, both good and bad. I’m a little upset that you’ve chosen to associate with Russo to win the title, you’re so talented. You could have done this on your own. I know because of how great of a tag team we were.

Before D’Lo can continue, AJ intervenes.

AJ Styles: Were or am? Now that I’m the champ, we can go back to being a full time team. We’re gonna’ be great tonight.

Brown doesn’t seem convinced but now Russo has his own mic.

Vince Russo: D’Lo, I’m glad you remember the good times we’ve had because I made you a star in the WWF. I’m glad you remember and can be loyal to me.

Whilst Brown has some uneasiness with AJ, it’s contempt for Russo… AS D’LO SHOVES RUSSO HARD IN THE CHEST!!!

D’Lo Brown: No, Russo, I made myself!

Sensing things could get out of hand, AJ gets in between them, attempting to be the voice of reason. As a rather heated discussion goes on between the three men…

RUSSO AND AJ BOTH GET CLOBBBERED FROM BEHIND…

BY RAVEN!!!

Scurrying for his life, Russo exits the ring… AND RAVEN CLOTHESLINES AJ OVER THE TOP AND TO THE OUTSIDE!!!

LEAVING D’LO TO SOCK RAVEN WITH A RIGHT HAND!!!

D’Lo wants revenge because Raven cost him a title opportunity a few weeks back, and now they begin brawling.

Russo and surprisingly AJ back away from the brawl, letting it happen, as security start charging past them to slide in the ring.

Neither takes a backwards step, but security is able to intervene and separate the two, much to the dismay of the crowd…

We now get a video package…

***

The video package starts, and it shows highlights of the main event, where AJ STYLES defeated JEFF JARRETT and RAVEN, with the help of VINCE RUSSO to win the NWA World Heavyweight Championship.

***

After the video package, we are back at ringside, and whilst the chaos has settled, a frustrated RAVEN remains in the ring, sitting on a steel chair.

Raven: I’ve got one thing on my mind and I’m not leaving the ring until I get answers. SHANE DOUGLAS, get out here and explain yourself… Take as long as you need, I’m not leaving until you get out here.

True to his word, Raven simply sits and waits, in no hurry until…

***LIVING LEGEND***

Raven rolls his eyes in frustration because it’s not ‘The Franchise’ who appears, instead it’s LARRY ZBYSZKO. Expecting that reaction from Raven, Larry smirks as he steps into the ring.

Larry Zbyszko: Look Raven, I can understand why you’re angry. I don’t know what the hell happened last week. I haven’t seen him in god knows how long, Shane must have bought a ticket or something. That’s the only explanation that makes sense because Shane is NOT a part of the TNA roster.

Suddenly, having a light bulb moment, Raven stands up and begins looking through the audience.

Raven: I’ve got it, he must be out in the crowd again then. Shane Douglas, I’m calling you out to this ring right now.

Again, nobody comes out. Larry looks to speak again but Raven ignores him and exits the ring. He then climbs over the crowd barricade and begins searching through the audience, but there are no signs of Shane Douglas anywhere.

Eventually Raven works his way up to RAVEN’S NEXT, where he sits himself down alongside ALEXIS LAREE and JULIO DINERO. Taking a few deep breaths, Raven maintains his composure as best he can.

Raven: Shane, I know you can hear me. When you get the guts to show your face, I won’t be hiding. I’m not a hard man to find.

With that, Raven drops the mic to the floor below, whilst Zbyszko just sort of shrugs from ringside and heads to the back himself…

Match One
Frankie Kazarian and Jerry Lynn vs. Triple X (Christopher Daniels and Elix Skipper)

Despite one team in Triple X being champions and very much established, and the other team being relatively inexperienced together, you wouldn’t know it. Kaz and Lynn team up really well together, with Kazarian especially putting on a great performance. Kaz looks strong throughout, allowing our commentary team to put over that this is why he’s a major threat to Chris Sabin and the TNA X Division Championship.

As the match progresses, our commentary team drop some important information such as: Low Ki in on a tour of Japan for the next several weeks and won’t be around…

More importantly, Triple X will defend the NWA Tag Team Championships against Americas Most Wanted next week!!!

Back to the match, it’s an entertaining one, but in the end, Triple X are too good. They remove Kazarian from the ring and then double team Lynn, eventually hitting him with the POWERPLEX!!!

DANIELS HOOKS LYNN’S LEG…1…2…3!!!

Winners: Triple X @ 11:23

After the match, Triple X grab their titles, not looking overly happy with just how challenging tonight was. Not in the mood for celebrating, they quickly head to the back, needing to prepare for next week’s title defence…

We cut to a pre-taped segment with the caption listed as ‘EARLIER TONIGHT’. Somewhere in The Asylum, the strange duo of NEW JACK and SHARK BOY sit together, getting along splendidly over a game of Candyland.

They continue to play, until New Jack tries to start changing the rules to win. On top of that, instead of using one of the games pieces, Jack is using a Sandman action figure as his piece.

New Jack: Oh yeah, here we go. I win the white woman when I get to the end.

Shark Boy isn’t happy with the cheating, shaking his head… SO NEW JACK GETS UP AND FLIPS THE BOARD OVER!!!

New Jack: Don’t eyeball me, man. I don’t want to be in the ring with no damn fish.

Jack walks away, leaving Shark Boy to shake his head. Will these two be able to coexist later?

Match Two
TNA X Division Championship Match

Chris Sabin (c) defends against Amazing Red

As expected between these two, it’s a highly competitive match. It’s very back and forth and even, however Red is a little more fiery than normal, desperate to get his hands back on the X Division Title. After Sabin spends most of the match grinding Red down and keeping him grounded by working the leg, Red makes a comeback. Red gets on a roll and continues to get the better of Sabin, until he’s ready to finish things off. Red runs at the fallen Sabin… RED STAR PRESS!!!

NO!!! SABIN ROLLS OUT OF THE WAY AND RED CRASHES AND BURNS!!!

Red begins screaming in pain, grabbing at the knee Sabin has worked on throughout. The X Division Champion can’t help but smile as his opponent rolls around in agony. After checking on him, the referee throws up the ‘X’, signalling an injury. EMT’s beginning running down the ring to check on Red.

This takes a few minutes until they manage to help Red to his feet, assisting him towards the ropes… WHEN SABIN KICKS RED’S LEG OUT FROM UNDER HIM!!!

The fans can’t believe it, booing loudly, as Sabin demands the trainers all exit the ring. They do so under duress, allow Sabin to pick up what’s left of Red… FUTURE SHOCK!!!

SABIN HOOKS THE LEG…1…2…3!!!

Winner: Chris Sabin @ 8:00

After the match, Sabin snatches his title from the referee and raises it above his head. Unfortunately for Sabin, he now gets some heat from the fans who seemed to have turned on him.

With the champ’s celebration in full swing, the medics are able to check on Red again. A bunch of babyface wrestlers also come down to check on Red.

Sabin is all smiles, thinking it’s hilarious… UNTIL SABIN GETS SHOVED HARD IN THE CHEST!!!

BY FRANKIE KAZARIAN!!!

Kaz dares Sabin to bring it, cocking his fist and threatening him for enjoying injuring Red. Sabin looks shocked and concerned, quickly dropping underneath the bottom rope and to the outside, deciding he wants no part of Kazarian tonight…

Now it’s time for another video package…

***

A video package plays showing some of the recent heated history between KID KASH and RON KILLINGS.

May 7th – Ron Killings eliminates Kash from the 15 Man Gauntlet for the Gold match. Furious at being cost a chance at the NWA World Heavyweight Championship, Kash returns to the ring and takes out Killings with the Moneymaker. This leaves Killings as easy pickings to be eliminated by GLENN GILBERTI.

May 14th – Killings and Kash were scheduled to meet, however Killings attacked Kash on the stage during his entrance. They brawl but then Kash gets a LOW BLOW out of nowhere and smashes a steel chair over the cranium of ‘The Truth’.

The match still goes ahead but Killings is out of it, allowing Kash to hit the Moneymaker and win in one minute. After the match, Kash attacks Killings some more, hitting him with another Moneymaker, until Killings’ buddies, BG JAMES and KONNAN run out to make the save.

May 21st – Kid Kash has a TNA X Division Championship match against AMAZING RED. Kash is in control, when Killings comes out and hits Kash with a chair, allowing Red to get the win.

May 28th – The two brawl within The Asylum and into the parking lot. The brawl is heated, and Killings ends up choking Kash with a garden hose, until security finally break up the fight.

Last week both men were barred from the arena, allowing them to cool off before tonight’s big match…

***WHAT’S UP***

It’s a respectable ovation from RON KILLINGS who looks in a no nonsense mood tonight. There’s no slow walk, there’s no dance, Killings is ready to go… WHEN BOOM!!!

KILLINGS GETS HIT FROM SIDE ON…

BY KID KASH!!!

Killings is caught completely off guard, as Kash grabs him by the hair… KASH RUNS HIM HEADFIRST INTO ONE OF THE TNA DANCING GIRL CAGES!!!

On instinct, ‘The Truth’ is back up, but Kash remains on the attack, aiming blow after blow at the head and face of Killings. ‘The Truth’ begins to fight back though, landing some shots, before backing Kash up towards the edge of the stage with right hands.

Killings goes to town now, shot after shot, ready to send Kash flying… WHEN KASH PUNTS KILLINGS IN THE GROIN!!!

‘The Truth’ drops to his knees, but the obsessed Kash isn’t finished, dragging Killings by the hair to get him in position… MONEYMAKER ON THE STEEL STAGE!!!

Groans come from Killings as he lands with a splat. Kash refuses to relent, mounting Truth and continuing to tee off with right hands…

UNTIL BG JAMES AND KONNAN RUN DOWN TO INTERRUPT!!!

Kash notices them and relinquishes Killings, backing away from them and towards ringside.

Once he’s out of striking distance, James and Konnan check on their 3 Live Kru buddy, whilst Kash hops over the crowd barricade and escapes to safety.

As Kash disappears amongst The Asylum fans, who’re probably doing some damage to him anyway, James and Konnan both look frustrated and concerned for their partner.

As everybody continues to try and help Killings after the brawl, we cut away…

To another video package…

This video package plays showing a number of highlights from TNA, all from different wrestlers. After one minute or so of highlights, each clip speeds up, until the crescendo is AJ STYLES standing with the World Title at the end of last week’s show. We then get a caption which reads…

“NWA-TNA ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY… NEXT WEEK”!

Match Three
Sharkjack vs. The New Church w/Father James Mitchell, Justin Credible and Mike Awesome

It’s the least high profile members of The New Church competing tonight with Slash and Sinn. What this means is that Slash and Sinn are just two warm bodies to bump around and make the unlikely duo of Sharkjack,. That’s exactly what happens here, as New Jack and Shark Boy do their thing somehow, and in the end, Shark Boy hits the DEAD SEE DROP ON SLASH!!!

SHARKY STAYS ON SLASH FOR THE PIN…1…2…3!!!

Winners: SharkJack @ 4:32

The fans pop pretty hard for the babyface victory, but before they can enjoy the moment… JUSTIN CREDIBLE AND MIKE AWESOME ATTACK SHARKJACK POST MATCH!!!

They begin stomping all over SharkJack, keeping both men at bay. They pay a little more attention to keeping New Jack down as arguably the bigger threat, BUT SUDDENLY JUSTIN CREDIBLE AND THE NEW CHURCH FLEE OUT OF THE RING…

BECAUSE THE SANDMAN SLIDES IN… WIELDING HIS TRUSTY SINGAPORE CANE!!!

The Sandman looks around, everybody is gone except for Mike Awesome, who stands still and stares Sandman down.

SharkJack slowly roll out of the ring, Sandman and Awesome remain, and Sandman drops the Cane…

AND THE REFEREE RINGS THE BELL FOR THE NEXT PLANNED MATCH!!!

Match Four
Tables Match

Mike Awesome vs. The Sandman

These two just fall straight into a brawl, wanting to prove who’s the toughest. It’s carnage from the get-go in what can be best described as an old school ECW match. With the tables stipulation in play, there’s no DQ, meaning both men can inflict as much punishment as possible with weapons. On top of that, whilst the ring was cleared for the match to begin, SharkJack and The New Church all remained at ringside and get involved with plenty of interference.

Despite all of the interference, the match culminates with SharkJack outnumbered but holding their own on the outside of the ring. Awesome and Sandman are the only two in the ring, and they are battling for supremacy on the top rope. With a table set up in the middle of the ring, Awesome is able to get the advantage… AWESOME BOMB OFF THE TOP ROPE AND THROUGH THE TABLE!!!

Winner: Mike Awesome @ 7:56

There is no celebration from Awesome afterwards, as the fans kind of look on in awe. Instead he turns his attention to the outside, WHERE THE NEW CHURCH ARE NOW LAYING INTO NEW JACK AND SHARK BOY!!!

They send their victims back into the ring, and Credible decides to focus in on Shark Boy… THAT’S INCREDIBLE!!!

After seeing his dysfunctional partner get taken out, Jack gets a second wind. He fights his ass off, rocking all four members of The New Church with right hands… UNTIL HE’S HIT IN THE BACK WITH A WALKING CANE!!!

BY FATHER JAMES MITCHELL!!!

Jack arches his back and stumbled forward, straight into a boot to the gut from Awesome. Awesome now looks at the other table, which was set up during the match, leaning against the corner of the ring…

AWESOME BOMB THROUGH THE TABLE IN THE CORNER!!!

Just like that, The New Church’s opposition have been destroyed tonight. The New Church have looked strong as a collective, but Mike Awesome has looked damn near unstoppable.

They continue to stand tall, getting heat from the crowd, as we cut away…

And we’re up in Raven’s Nest, where THE GATHERING is sitting in the same positions as they were earlier. That’s RAVEN, sitting in between ALEXIS LAREE and JULIO DINERO, and they are all pensive, awaiting any sign of Shane Douglas…

Standing by at the interview set is Scott Hudson.

Scott Hudson: Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome my guest at this time. He’s the man who controversially successfully defended his TNA X Division Championship against Amazing Red earlier tonight… He’s CHRIS SABIN!!!

On cue, the camera pans around to reveal a cocky looking CHRIS SABIN. He has the X Division title around his waist, he’s wearing an opened linen shirt, showing off his body, and his arrogantly chomping on some gum. Sabin simply nods in the direction of Hudson to acknowledge him.

Scott Hudson: Uh, thanks for joining me, Chris. I have to ask, I think these people want an explanation for how you went about your title defence against Amazing Red earlier tonight.

Hudson puts the mic to Sabin’s mouth, who looks a little irritated by the line of questioning.

Chris Sabin: Oh here we go again, let’s vilify Chris Sabin. You know, ever since I got back here, it’s the same old thing. Everyone’s been giving me dirty looks.

The champ shakes his head, unhappy with his treatment.

Chris Sabin: I didn’t set out tonight to injure anybody, but I had a job to do. What happened to Red sucked. Of course it did, sure, but don’t turn this into some type of crazy witch hunt. It’s not my fault Red hurt his knee in the middle of a match. What was I supposed to do? I had a title to defend.

Mentioning the title at the end causes Sabin to smirk, as he taps the title sitting around his waist. Hudson seems taken aback by Sabin’s words saying one thing, but his body language perhaps saying another.

Scott Hudson: You know, Chris, a lot of us here at TNA, including the fans are disappointed in you. You’re showing no respect for one of the most beloved wrestlers in TNA, Amazing Red.

The champs scoffs, almost swallowing his gum in the process.

Chris Sabin: I thought you requested this interview to talk about me, not Red. Other people happen to agree that I’m the best thing to hit the X Division in the last six months. You know what? I’m done; I don’t have to take this.

Before the surprised Hudson can ask another question, Sabin turns and storms off. This interview is well and truly over…

Back at ringside, Mike Tenay and Don West are standing by. They are ready to hype next week’s one year anniversary card because we need people to purchase the PPV…

TRIPLE X WILL DEFEND THE NWA TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS AGAINST AMERICAS MOST WANTED.

THE MAN WE JUST HEARD FROM, CHRIS SABIN WILL ONCE AGAIN BE DEFENDING THE TNA X DIVISION CHAMPIONSHIP. THIS TIME AGAINST PAUL LONDON.

AFTER WHAT WENT DOWN TONIGHT, THE SANDMAN HAS REQUESTED A REMATCH WITH MIKE AWESOME, IN A MATCH TYPE THAT IS YET TO BE ANNOUNCED.

BG JAMES WILL LOOK TO GET REVENGE FOR HIS FRIEND RON KILLINGS WHEN HE GOES ONE ON ONE WITH KID KASH…

It’s main event time but before we get underway, CHRISTOPHER DANIELS and ELIX SKIPPER, TRIPLE X make their way out from the back. The NWA Tag Team Champions walk around the ring and take a seat at the commentary position, ready to scout AMW in the main event…

Match Five
AJ Styles and D’Lo Brown w/Vince Russo vs. Americas Most Wanted

Obviously AJ has this new alliance with Russo, which D’Lo doesn’t seem to be the biggest fan of. However, despite their differences in acquaintances, it doesn’t seem as if it has impacted their friendship at all, as they get along brilliantly here. It’s almost as if they are the same tandem they were a few weeks back, just now one of them is the World Champ.

Slowly, as the match goes on, some differences begin to show. For example, Russo is as vocal as ever on the outside, to mixed results. When Russo encourages or demands Brown to cheat, they argue because D’Lo refuses to bend the rules. When Styles is the legal man and Russo makes these requests, AJ is happy to go along with Russo and cheat to maintain the advantage.

After a heat period from AJ and D’Lo, eventually James Storm manages to land some shots, and make the big hot tag to Chris Harris. Harris comes in like a man possessed and builds some momentum for his team, including a few near falls.

Sensing the match potentially slipping away, Russo gets onto the apron… AND RUSSO TOSSES HIS BLACK BASEBALL BAT TO D’LO BROWN!!!

D’Lo catches it on instinct, but shakes his head, tossing the bat out the opposite side of the ring. “I’M NOT WINNIN’ THAT WAY”, is D’Lo’s decision however Russo is befuddled, “WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU”! The two go back and forth, arguing away, AND IT ALLOWS HARRIS TO COME FROM BEHIND WITH A SCHOOL BOY…1…2…3!!!

Winners: Americas Most Wanted @ 15:02

The somewhat shock result gets a TREMENDOUS pop from the fans, as Harris and Storm roll outside of the ring. AMW point towards Triple X, celebrating but also sending a message that they are gunning for those tag titles next week.

Inside the ring is the real story though, as AJ has returned to the ring, and he is less than impressed with the loss. AJ goes nose to nose with D’Lo and they begin arguing, with Russo getting in to join in and stand side by side with Styles.

D’Lo points at Russo, but is talking to AJ, “HE’S GOING TO POISON YOUR MIND… IS THE TITLE WORTH IT”?

Instead of a response from AJ, Russo begins to talk… AND D’LO GRABS RUSSO BY THE COLLAR!!!

ONLY FOR AJ TO SMASH D’LO WITH THE TITLE BELT FROM BEHIND!!!

Gasps come from the audience, as everybody is in shock at the behaviour of the champion. AJ stands over Brown, a look of disdain on his face… UNTIL STYLES GETS SPUN AROUND TO FACE THE OTHER WAY…

BY JEFF JARRETT!!!

‘Double J’ is here, and he begins teeing off with epic right hands on Styles. After backing Styles against the ropes, Jarrett turns his attention towards Russo, who immediately leaves the ring.

Russo looks like his fearing for his life on the outside, as AJ gets a thumb to the eye of Jarrett… AND THEN AJ LEAVES THE RING!!!

Major heat from the fans as Jarrett pleads with them to get back in the ring. Styles and Russo are happy to bail though, backing up the ramp, so a frustrated Jarrett gets a hold of a microphone.

Jeff Jarrett: AJ, I’m not gonna’ complain about what you’ve done, because I know it’s a dog eat dog world out there. I know what it’s like to be willing to do anything to have that title. Speaking of the title, that coveted NWA World Heavyweight Championship is mine so here’s what I propose. I challenge you to Jarrett AJ two next week at the anniversary show for that title (points at title on Styles’ shoulder.)

Styles looks ready to accept the challenge, but Russo decides it’s best if he handles this request.

Vince Russo: No chance, Jeff. You haven’t earned shit.

Jarrett rolls his eyes but before he can intervene, Styles now speaks up.

AJ Styles: If I remember correctly Jarrett, you dodged me for months. So Russo is one hundred percent right, you have to prove yourself before you get any title shot.

Boos from the fans, as they still can’t believe the behaviour of Styles tonight. Jeff takes a moment, before nodding his head, almost in acceptance.

Jeff Jarrett: Okay, okay, I’ve got an idea. I’ll go find myself a partner for next week. And I challenge you, Russo to find a partner for your golden goose. Because I know who my partner will be, I’M BRINGING STING AS MY PARTNER!!!

A mic drop moment for sure as the fans mark out at the reference to Stings potential arrival in TNA. Whilst Jarrett smirks, AJ and Russo’s eyes are wide, in shock. The heels continue to freak out as Jarrett chuckles, and with that epic announcement, the show fades to black…

It’s arguably the most anticipated show in history; it’s the one year anniversary show. It’s the debut of Sting. Even Don West is wearing a tuxedo tonight, as both he and Mike Tenay are dressed to impress. The commentators scream over the amped up crowd, shouting “TNA” at the top of their lungs. The Asylum is rocking tonight, as the commentary duo hype tonight’s big time card.

AJ STYLES AND AN UNMAED MYSTERY PARTNER VS. JEFF JARRETT AND THE DEBUTING STING.

TRIPLE X WILL DEFEND THE NWA TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS AGAINST AMERICAS MOST WANTED.

CHRIS SABIN WILL DEFEND HIS TNA X DIVISION CHAMPIONSHIP AGAINST PAUL LONDON.

MIKE AWESOME WILL FACE NEW JACK WITH THE MATCH TYPE YET TO BE ANNOUNCED AS JACK WANTS REVENGE FOR THE SANDMAN (this was initially going to be Sandman/Awesome rematch as announced on the previous show, but I, uh, changed my mind)

BG JAMES WILL FACE KID KASH, SEEKING REVENGE FOR HIS FRIEND, RON KILLINGS.

After going over the entire card in detail, Tenay and West circle back to discussing tonight’s highly anticipated main event.

Mike Tenay: We know the debut of Sting may just be the biggest moment in TNA history so far, but there’s an unanswered question still up in the air. The rumour mill has been circling regarding who AJ Styles partner will be.

Don West: In typical fashion, we know that Vince Russo pulled a power play earlier today. According to Russo, AJ Styles would refuse to take place in the main event unless D’Lo Brown was banned from the building.

Mike Tenay: With so much riding on tonight’s big match, TNA officials obviously had to give in. I can’t say I’m overly surprised, I was in WCW with Russo. This is what I figured would happen if Russo got control of the NWA World Heavyweight title belt.

They could probably discuss this all night, but they won’t because it’s time for the opening match…

Match One
BG James vs. Kid Kash

It’s a hatred filled match here, as Kash wants to send a message to Killings, and BG is looking for some revenge for his long-time friend. They go back and forth for the most part, and despite not being featured recently, James puts up a good showing and looks okay. Kash has proven that he’s recently not afraid of bending the rules and that’s what happens here.

BG is in the middle of an inspiring comeback, teeing off with his patented right hands, backing Kash into the corner. The referee gets in between the two competitors, looking for a clean break, but as the ref tries to coerce James away, Kash gets a rake to the eyes.

BG immediately grabs at his eyes, swiping at them, struggling for vision. Kash quickly pounces with a kick to the gut… FOLLOWED BY THE MONEYMAKER!!!

KASH GETS THE PIN…1…2…3!!!

Winner: Kid Kash @ 8:12

The bell rings much to the disappointment of the fans, but now that he’s in complete control, Kash isn’t finished. He stomps all over BG, shoving the ref out the way, before he mounts him and hammers away with right hands.

As Kash hammers way, he yells “THIS DOESN’T INVOLVE YOU”!

The beating continues, until the fans begin to cheer loudly, as KONNAN SLIDES INTO THE RING…

AND HE’S GOT A STEEL CHAIR!!!

Konnan charges at Kash, SWINGING THE CHAIR… BUT KASH DROPS TO THE CANVAS, AVOIDING CONTACT AND ROLLING FROM THE RING!!!

Boos greet the cowardice of Kash, as Konnan stands guard. Once Kash is far enough up the ramp, smarmy smirk on his face, ‘K-Dawg’ drops the chair and checks on his friend.

One things for sure, Ron Killings is not going to be happy with what Kash attempted to do to his friend tonight…

In an undisclosed location somewhere within The Asylum we see ALEXIS LAREE and JULIO DINERO, lurking rather creepily, with no sign of Raven. Suddenly, the two begin looking a little more intently, and we soon realise why, as CM PUNK steps into a shot, a concerned look on his face.

CM Punk: Julio, Alexis, it has been a while. Hey, I was wondering have you asked Raven about me wanting in The Gathering like I talked to you about a few months ago? I just wanted to check in because I haven’t heard anything.

Julio shrugs guiltily, before shaking his head.

Julio Dinero: Honestly, now probably isn’t the best time. Raven is pissed. With everything that’s been going on lately, I don’t even know if there is a Gathering anymore.

Punk laughs at that statement, but Raven’s posse don’t find it very amusing.

CM Punk: Now you’re talking crazy, man. There will always be a Gathering.

Punk then shoots his arms to the side, getting a strange look from The Gathering as he performs the Raven pose.

CM Punk: Trust me. Quote CM Punk, nevermore…

The Gathering are still in shock, watching on, before Punk turns and leaves, having sent the message wanted to for the night…

Standing by at the interview set is Scott Hudson.

Scott Hudson: Please welcome my guest at this time, LARRY ZBYSZKO!!!

Polite cheers come from inside the arena as LARRY ZBYSZKO offers Hudson a respectful handshake.

Scott Hudson: Thank you so much for your time, Larry. As a man who has connections and knows the inner workings of TNA, I have to ask you the question that’s on everybody’s mind. Have you been notified as to who AJ Styles’ partner is going to be tonight?

The ‘living legend’ smirks, seemingly expecting this exact question.

Larry Zbyszko: I hate to disappoint you and all the fans, Scott, but the answer to that is no. I haven’t been told.

Hudson looks disappointed but Larry doesn’t really pay his reaction any attention.

Larry Zbyszko: I know a lot of rumours have been circulating and I could make some guesses, but I’m not in the business of being wrong. With Russo’s connections and the open door policy of TNA, it’s to difficult to predict. I can never really be sure who might be coming in with a situation like this.

Larry smiles and nods as if to say he’s done, and Hudson signs off as we transition to our next segment…

We are just at the interview set so let’s say Goldilocks is standing by in a locker room somewhere in the back.

Goldilocks: Hi everybody, I’m Goldilocks and I’m here in the locker room with a man getting ready for a war tonight. I’m here with… NEW JACK!!!

NEW JACK appears in shot, looking as grumpy as ever.

Goldilocks: It has just been mentioned to me that your match tonight with Mike Awesome will be No Disqualifications. Awesome is so big and so powerful and we saw what he did to The Sandman last week. Are you concerned at all?

Jack scoffs, that question not improving his mood in the slightest.

New Jack: No DQ is right up my alley, so I’m not worried about that at all. I don’t give a shit about Mike Awesome or how fucking tall he is. The bigger they are, the harder they fall and I’m going to kill that man.

Goldi is taken aback by this response, but the scowl on Jack’s face says that he’s not lying. As Goldi panics a little, caught off guard, thinking of her next question, SHARK BOY approaches them. New Jack immediately shakes his head, looking frustrated with the appearance of his dysfunctional tag team partner.

New Jack: Listen here shark food, I ain’t playing no games tonight…

Sharky holds up a hand, signalling for Jack to wait a moment. Both Jack and Goldi look confused as Shark Boy disappears for a moment. He does return though and when he does, he’s wearing HULK HANDS~! Jack looks slightly impressed now.

New Jack: Well damn dog, that’s my shit. I got some business to take care of but after my match, I’ll come back and play with you.

Jack looks back to Goldilocks now, still deadly serious.

New Jack: I ain’t no technical wizard. I don’t know moves or holds, but there’s one thing I do know. I know whooping ass, and tonight, Mike Awesome ain’t gonna’ take long at all.

Shark Boy pats Jack on the back before he walks out of the locker room, because this match is NEXT…

Match Two
No Disqualification Match
Mike Awesome w/Father James Mitchell vs. New Jack

Much like Awesome’s match with The Sandman last week, this is another one that would have fit in perfectly in the ECW Arena. It’s pure chaos with barely any actual wrestling, and they don’t last long in the ring either. It isn’t long before weapons come into play and they end up on the outside, before New Jack manages to Clothesline Awesome over the barrier and into the crowd.

The brawl continues in the crowd, and it seems like for the first time in forever, Awesome is outnumbered. The carnage continues throughout and Awesome has the advantage when no weapons are involved, but Jack keeps going to his trolley cart full of weapons to regain the advantage.

After an exhausting street fight, they end up back in the ring, where Jack grabs a STEEL CHAIR, with Awesome being unaware. Both men battle to their feet… AND NEW JACK CRACKS THE STEEL CHAIR OVER THE SKULL OF AWESOME!!!

AWESOME NO SELLS IT AND STAYS ON HIS FEET…

SO JACK CRACKS AWESOME IN THE SKULL AGAIN!!!

AWESOME TAKES A STEP BACK BUT STAYS ON HIS FEET…

JACK NAILS A THIRD CHAIR SHOT!!!

AND AWESOME STAGGERS BACKWARDS, BOUNCING INTO THE ROPES AND COMING BACK…

STUMBLING FORWARD INTO A FOURTH CHAIR SHOT!!!

AWESOME’S LEGS ALMOST GIVE OUT BUT HE REMAINS UP, SOMEHOW…

A FIFTH CHAIR SHOT TO THE SKULL SENDS AWESOME DOWN!!!

The fans cheer the big moment, New Jack might be about to beat Awesome… WHEN CRACK!!!

JACK GETS SMACKED FROM BEHIND WITH A KENDO STICK…

BY JUSTIN CREDIBLE!!!

Ignoring the boos from the crowd, Credible looks to continue on the attack, when THE SANDMAN runs through the curtain to make the save… BUT SANDMAN IS IMMEDIATELY ATTACKED BY…

SINN AND SLASH!!!

They were waiting by the side of the ramp to make the save and Father Mitchell cackles, loving when a plan comes together. With Sandman fighting for his life and unable to make the save, inside the ring, Awesome sets up the chair as if it’s ready to be sat on. He then drags Jack to his feet, ushering Credible away… AWESOME BOMB THROUGH THE STEEL CHAIR!!!

Jack screams in pain as the audience groans, whilst a satisfied AWESOME MAKES THE COVER…1…2…3!!!

Winner: Mike Awesome @ 10:03

Despite the obvious struggles tonight, Awesome racks up another victory. They notice that Sandman is still busy in his two on one on the ramp, so Awesome and Credible head to the outside. They search under the ring and grab a TABLE, setting it up on the floor.

They both slide back into the ring to grab New Jack… WHEN SHARK BOY SLIDES INTO THE RING!!!

AND HE’S WEARING THE HULK HANDS!!!

SHARK BOY UPPERCUTS CREDIBLE… SENDING HIM FLYING OVER THE TOP ROPE AND TO THE OUTSIDE!!!

Sharky then turns to face Awesome… BUT IS NEARLY DECAPITATED WITH A BRUTAL CLOTHESLINE!!!

Awesome roughly drags Sharky back up, hulk gloves and all…AWESOME BOMB OVER THE TOP ROPE AND THROUGH THE TABLE ON THE OUTSIDE!!!

HOLY SHIT!!! With a smirk, Awesome joins Credible and Mitchell on the outside, and they appreciate the damage they have done. With Sandman, Sinn and Slash having disappeared, the three then leave ringside, happy with a job well done.

Meanwhile, favouring his back, New Jack rolls to the outside to check on Shark Boy. He’s in trouble though, as medics come down and check on him.

It isn’t long before a stretcher is called for, and Shark Boy gets carried out of the arena, whilst a sore New Jack swears for revenge…

In the back, we have a camera following Goldilocks, walking through The Asylum until she finds a locker room with the nameplate of ‘AJ STYLES’ on the door. Goldi knocks on the door and patiently waits. After a few moments, the door opens, but it’s not AJ Styles who steps out, it’s VINCE RUSSO. Goldi is initially surprised but gets herself together rather quickly.

Goldilocks: Uh, Hi Vince, I was looking to speak to AJ Styles, but maybe you can help. Can you name AJ’s partner? If not, can you give us all a hint, or is there any chance that AJ can come out and I can ask him?

Russo has an arrogant smirk, loving all the uncertainty that he and Styles are causing.

Vince Russo: I can tell you with absolutely certainty that AJ Styles will not speak to you at this time. The champ is getting ready for the main event.

Goldi is disappointed but nods her head, understanding.

Vince Russo: What I can do for you thought Goldi, since I’m such a man of the people, I can give you a hint.

Now she’s excited, which Russo is pleased with.

Vince Russo: AJ Styles’ partner tonight; I have worked with the partner before. I can also confirm he was not an SEX member. As a matter of fact, we currently have no affiliation. Our arrangement is a one night only situation, but it’s a good plan and I think it’ll work out for the best. That’s all I can give right now.

Before waiting for Goldilocks to wrap up the interview, Russo obviously checks out her cleavage, before stepping back inside and shutting the locker room door…

We head to another area of The Asylum where CHRIS HARRIS and JAMES STORM, AMERICAS MOST WANTED are walking in the back. They are ready for their title shot, in their gear, heading towards the curtain… WHEN THEY ARE ATTACKED FROM BEHIND!!!

BY… CHRISTOPHER DANIELS AND ELIX SKIPPER!!!

TRIPLE X HAVE ATTACKED THEIR CHALLENGERS!!!

Daniels and Skipper get the early jump, but AMW turn and quickly fight back, and we’ve got a pier six brawl.

It’s mayhem as they brawl with each other, fighting through the curtain and down the ramp. The two most successful teams in TNA’s short history don’t like each other, and it’s clear as hell as they continue to fight.

Eventually, the brawl ends up in the ring, and with a shrug of the shoulders, the referee calls for the bell…

Match Three
NWA World Tag Team Championship Match

Triple X (Christopher Daniels and Elix Skipper) (c) defends against Americas Most Wanted

And just because they are in the ring, it doesn’t mean things settle down. The brawl continues, the hatred these teams have for each other unable to be contained. The fight goes on until AMW begin getting on top, and they manage to run through Daniels with a double team move. With Daniels down, they turn their attention towards Skipper and throw him out of the ring. Harris stomps on Daniels a few more times to keep him down, before AMW both exit the ring.

They pick up Skipper on the outside… THEY NAIL SKIPPER WITH THE HART ATTACK ON THE CONCRETE FLOOR!!!

Just like that, AMW have eliminated Skipper from the match, at least for the immediate future. Now AMW get back into the ring, with Harris starting off as the legal man. He begins working on Daniels, and AMW are obviously able to isolate ‘The Fallen Angel’ and go to work. To Daniels’ credit, he shows resilience and fights back, still landing some big shots and moves, but he’s unable to gain control for any extended period.

AMW continue to impress the crowd with their teamwork and pick up several near falls, until Daniels is able to hit Storm out of nowhere with a Calf Kick. Out of desperation, Daniels heads to the outside and grabs a STEEL CHAIR. Back inside the ring, DANIELS SWINGS THE STEEL CHAIR AT STORM!!!

NO!!! STORM SUPERKICKS THE CHAIR BACK INTO THE FACE OF DANIELS!!!

According to the referee, that’s not a disqualification as Daniels brought the chair in and was trying to use it. Storm senses this is his teams chance to regain the tag titles. He makes the tag to Harris, AMW get Daniels in position, with Harris on the top rope… DEATH SENTENCE CONNECTS!!!

HARRIS HOOKS DANIELS’ LEGS…1…2…3…NO!!!

ELIX SKIPPER DRAGS THE REFEREE OUT OF THE RING TO BREAK THE COUNT!!!

The referee argues with Skipper, but Skipper shrugs him out of the way, grabbing a hold of one of the tag title belts. Skipper slides into the ring… AND NAILS STORM IN THE FACE WITH THE TAG TITLE!!!

Harris is furious and as Skipper turns around… HARRIS SPEARS SKIPPER… SENDING BOTH MEN TUMBLING THROUGH THE MIDDLE ROPE AND TO THE OUTSIDE!!!

Meanwhile, inside of the ring, an exhausted Daniels, who has put up a valiant effort, notices that Storm is out of it… DANIELS ROLLS OVER AND DRAPES AN ARM OVER THE CHEST OF STORM…1…2…3!!!

Winners: Triple X @ 11:22

From the outside, Harris is heartbroken as he notices what happens and immediately rolls in to check on his partner.

Daniels immediately rolls out, and whilst the fans aren’t happy, Daniels and Skipper quickly back away, titles in their hands.

Once they make the top of the ramp and are out of harms way, Triple X celebrate, ignoring everybody even further.

As Storm recovers, AMW are furious in the ring, yelling that this isn’t over, but tonight belongs to Triple X…

We now head to a pre-taped segment where we see our play by play guy, Mike Tenay sitting in an empty arena/asylum. His guest, sitting in a collared shirt and some faded jeans, and of course his reliable surfer shades, the former NWA World Heavyweight Champion, JEFF JARRETT.

Mike Tenay: Thank you for your time, Jeff. It has been a tumultuous few weeks here in TNA, and I know it would be a strange time for you as well, having just recently lost the NWA World Heavyweight Championship. With AJ Styles as champion, a man you have plenty of history with, Vince Russo by his side, and another man you have personal differences with, in Raven still around, you must have so much on your mind. What are your thoughts?

‘Double J’ takes a moment to think about the question.

Jeff Jarrett: This last two weeks what I’ve had is some time to reflect. I’m far from perfect and the first think I can admit is that I went a little too far over the last month and didn’t deal with the Raven issue like a champion should have. For all I’ve said or thought about Raven, at least Raven wanted to keep it between us. One things for damn sure, I’ve lost a lot of respect for AJ Styles for selling his soul for the NWA Title.

Jarrett shakes his head, looking disgusted, but there’s clearly still elements of shock to the entire situation as well.

Jeff Jarrett: I mean, I get why he did it, a younger Jeff Jarrett has been down that road. But AJ’s going to realise Russo is no good and surely AJ can’t be proud of winning the title like that.

Despite it being an empty Asylum hours before the show, suddenly somebody off camera clears their throat. Jarrett and Tenay snap their necks to look over, and the NWA World Heavyweight Champion AJ STYLES and VINCE RUSSO approach the duo. Russo hangs back a little, keeping his distance from Jarrett, who has stood up. AJ looks furious with some of the words he’s heard from Jarrett though.

AJ Styles: Let me ask you a question, Jeff, why not? Why shouldn’t I be proud of how I won this title right here? Russo interfered to give you the title too. You’re sitting there with Tenay on your high horse, but you ain’t no better than I am.

AJ’s red faced and angry, staring Jarrett down, but Jeff just shakes his head. He doesn’t agree with Styles’ assessment of the situation.

Jeff Jarrett: I’m nothing like you, but we can stand here and debate back and forth for hours on end. I challenge you to put that belt up to test your theory.

Jarrett’s eyes burn with desire now that he removes his shades to show how serious he is. Styles scoffs, as Russo watches on intently.

AJ Styles: I’m not some wet behind the ears rookie anymore. I’m not falling for that. As much as you think you are, you’re not any different to anybody else. You’ve gotta’ earn it.

Russo looks proud of his charge but an annoyed JARRETT SHOVES AJ IN THE CHEST, causing him to stumble backwards!!!

Jeff Jarrett: You’re the champ, be a man…

AJ RETURNS THE FAVOUR, NOW SHOVING JARRETT!!!

JARRETT RETALIATES WITH A RIGHT HAND… SO DOES AJ…

AND WE’VE GOT A SCRAP ON OUR HANDS!!!

Both men trade punches, as Russo watches on concerned. Tenay squeals for help, and as neither man takes a backwards step, A BARRAGE OF SECURITY APPEARS AND BEGINS PULLING THEM APART!!!

AJ lets security pull him away at the behest of Russo, however Jarrett is desperately trying to break free. Security continues to maintain order, as the tape ends…

Match Four
TNA X Division Championship Match

Chris Sabin (c) defends against Paul London

Unlike last week’s title defence, this one doesn’t have much story to it. It’s just a way to get the champ on the show, and London is an awesome opponent that will give him a good match. London is actually really impressive, hanging in with the champ to create quite the competitive match, but eventually SABIN HITS THE FUTURE SHOCK!!!

SABIN PINS LONDON…1…2…3!!!

Winner: Chris Sabin @ 9:47

The new attitude of Sabin means the fans boo him out of the building, as he performs yet another over the top celebration. Cocky and full of confidence, Sabin embraces his status as champion, really revelling in the moment, before slowly exiting the ring.

Meanwhile, London is helped to the back by the referee, getting some appreciative applause from the crowd for his incredible effort tonight…

With everybody gone, Mike Tenay and Don West start once again questioning who will be AJ Styles partner in the main event. They stop unexpectedly though, when they are approached at the announce desk by CHRIS HARRIS and JAMES STORM, AMERICAS MOST WANTED. Harris signals to Tenay and is given the mic.

Chris Harris: Everybody saw our tag title match and what happened earlier is bullshit. We are sick and tired of Triple X and their cheating. That’s the fourth time Triple X have stolen a match from us and walked out with our tag titles.

Course language and all, AMW are furious.

Chris Harris: This has to end between us one way or another, so I want one more match next week. One last chance at those titles and if we lose, that’s it, fine. We’ll let Triple X be and we’re done with the titles for now, but we will win… AND WE WANT IT INSIDE OF A STEEL CAGE!!!

That’s a GIANT statement from Harris and Storm, and the fans mark out for the potential match. AMW give the mic back to Tenay and leave, having gotten their point across…

It takes a moment for Tenay and West to get back into a rhythm and they begin to promote the prospective card for next week:

TRIPLE X DEFENDING THE TAG TITLES AGAINST AMERICAS MOST WANTED IN A STEEL CAGE HAS JUST BEEN CONFIRMED BY LARRY ZBYSZKO VIA TENAY’S EARPIECE.

KID KASH WILL GO ONE ON ONE WITH KONNAN AFTER BEATING KONNAN’S FELLOW 3 LIVE KRU MEMBER, BG JAMES EARLIER TONIGHT.

CHRIS SABIN WILL TAKE ON THE MAN HE HAD A CONFRONTATION WITH LAST WEEK, FRANKIE KAZARIAN.

JUSTIN CREDIBLE AND THE NEW CHURCH WILL CONTINUE THEIR WAR AGAINST THE EXTREME VERSUS NEW JACK, THE SANDMAN AND A MYSTERY PARTNER.

JEFF JARRETT
is out first for the main event, followed by the debutant, STING, who gets an ABNORMALLY LOUD pop from the fans. Sting takes his time, enjoying the moment, and then the NWA World Champ AJ STYLES makes his way out, accompanied by VINCE RUSSO. AJ decides against getting in the ring, remaining at ringside, and Jarrett rolls his eyes, noticing Russo grabs a mic.

Vince Russo: The question everybody is want answered is who is AJ’s partner tonight. I had a lot of potential choices on the table. Some I didn’t even consider; some people were considered but couldn’t be relied on.

Yeah, Syxx Pac was terrible in this spot in real life, so that’s a jab at him. He’s not coming.

Vince Russo: After some deep consideration, I got in touch with a guy who has experience, and a track record of a mean streak like me. Just to have my bases covered, I also got in touch with the people who brought this man to TNA.

Russo is really dragging this out, enjoying his moment, but Jarrett has had enough.

Jeff Jarrett: That’s enough… SHUT UP!!! It’s time, who is it already?

Sting nods his head, in agreement with Jarrett, but Russo only smirks.

Vince Russo: Sorry, Jeff, you don’t run this place, so I’ll do what I want. You might like to think you’re the face of TNA, but that’s not true. Everyone who pays attention knows AJ Styles it the franchise player. Speaking of franchise, AJ’s tag partner knows a thing or two about a franchise.

The fans begin to murmur, as most would know where this is heading now…

***DEEP***

It’s a big pop which quickly disintegrates into heat, as ‘The Franchise’ himself, SHANE DOUGLAS makes his way out from the back. The fans aren’t pleased, as Styles and Russo chuckle, as it looks like we will have two men, Douglas and Sting, making their in ring debut at TNA tonight…

Match Five
AJ Styles and Shane Douglas w/Vince Russo vs. Jeff Jarrett and Sting

As mentioned, it’s Shane Douglas’ in ring debut as well, but that’s not what we’re here for tonight. This is all about being the first match of Sting, so ‘The Icon’ gets showcased quite a bit. ‘The Stinger’ looks incredible through most the match, on offense for the most part and looking like he could slot right into the main event scene here in TNA.

Outside of the focus on Sting, we also get plenty of AJ versus Jarrett. It’s not just the title between these two anymore, there is also plenty of hatred. It’s back and forth between the two of them, showing that there is probably an awesome singles match in their future at some point.

Towards the end of this match, the newly minted babyface, Jarrett gains the advantage… AND JARRETT DROPS STYLES WITH THE STROKE!!!

JARRETT HOOKS THE LEG…1…2…3…NO!!!

RUSSO PUTS AJ’S FOOT ON THE BOTTOM ROPE TO BREAK THE COUNT!!!

Jarrett notices this right away and immediately rolls underneath the bottom rope to the outside. The fans pop as Russo shits himself and runs, as Jarrett gives chase. Russo eventually slides into the ring, where Jarrett runs in after him… DOUGLAS CUTS OFF JARRETT WITH A CLOTHESLINE!!!

Douglas lets out his trademark laugh… WHEN STING TRIPS HIM UP FROM THE OUTSIDE AND DRAGS HIM OUT OF THE RING!!!

Sting and Douglas now do battle on the outside, brawling on the floor. Styles sees this and notices Jarrett is down, and AJ sneaks behind Sting, grabbing a hold of him. Holding Sting in place, AJ waits, and Douglas grabs a STEEL CHAIR… DOUGLAS CRACKS THE STEEL CHAIR ACROSS THE BACK OF STING!!!

Sting falls to the floor, and it looks like he’s going to be in trouble now, when AJ and Douglas freak out… BECAUSE RAVEN LEAPS OVER THE CROWD BARRICADE!!!

Raven immediately Spears Douglas down to the floor, hammering away with right hands. Despite being lenient earlier, with the blatant interference, the referee has no choice but to call the disqualification.

Winners: AJ Styles and Shane Douglas @ 12:27
The match is over, but the action is far from finishes. Douglas manages to push Raven off him… BEFORE JUMPING OVER THE BARRICADE AND DOUGLAS FLEES THROUGH THE CROWD!!!

Raven looks to go after Douglas, but Styles steps in his way… AND RAVEN PUNCHES AJ IN THE FACE!!!

AJ has no answer and begins getting peppered with rights, so Styles rolls inside the ring, trying to create some space. Raven is straight up after him, but AJ backs into Jarrett… AND NOW JARRETT DROPS AJ WITH A RIGHT HAND!!!

Styles gets back up, surrounded by Jarrett and Raven… WHEN RUSSO TRIPS AJ AND PULLS HIM OUT OF THE RING!!!

Much to the dismay of the crowd, AJ and Russo are quick to back up the ramp, Russo handing AJ the title at the same time.

Meanwhile, inside of the ring, NOW JARRETT AND RAVEN GO NOSE TO NOSE!!!

We know these two men don’t look like each other, and they start mouthing off, until Sting returns to the ring. Sting gets in between them and says some words that we can’t hear and seems to be calming them down.

Somehow, it looks like Jarrett and Raven won’t fight, and we end the show with the strange visual of Sting standing between Jarrett and Raven, raising both men’s hands high in the air. What a strange sight.

END OF SHOW

SharkJack is officially the best thing ever and if they don't win the NWA Tag belts I'll be fuckin fumin. Genuinely my favourite part of this BTB has been the ECW contingent and The New Church.

AJ/Jarrett/Russo melodrama is developing nicely, always had a soft spot for D'Lo as well so I'm glad he's getting a look in with this feud. I CAN'T WAIT to see what you do with Sting.

X-Division and Tag Title scenes are good too, especially like your portrayal of Sabin. It's simple, but good shit here. Hopefully he has the belt for a while.

Good stuff brother

I really don't know what's taken me so long to get into this thread. The first 5-6 years of TNA are my jam, and I'm long overdue returning some feedback to you Stojy. 2003 is my TNA blind spot as I didn't find them til Summer 2004. I know I've seen a lot of 2003 matches from the DVDs I used to watch, but I really won't be sure what here is fully your idea or partially borrowed from irl. Feel free to accept all praise as your own tho, lol.

First of all, this roster fuckin rocks. Idk if the ECW guys (beside Raven) were involved with TNA at this time, or if that was your call, but it helps make it an even more unique locker room. You're presenting Mike Awesome as a TANK ON TWO LEGS. He eats chair shots for breakfast and shits out W's by lunch. It would not shock me if he's ramped up as a World Title contender soon. I've always been a really big fan of Father James Mitchell, so it pops me every time he's mentioned successfully scheming. This New Jack/Shark Boy affiliation is comedic gold. The post above me called for a tag title run. I know Triple X vs AMW is a foundation block of TNA.... but idk man... you may have to give the people what we want!

In general it's really fun to "re-watch" 2003 AJ Styles, Chris Sabin, Triple X all running as champions. Part of me wishes AJ didn't align with Russo again, but I get wanting to run that back a different way. I genuinely can't remember how long AJ's first World Title reign was irl, but I hope it's a good one here. I'm sure in the Asylum it was easy for Jarrett to be presented as a main event hero, but I've struggled to ever see him that way. I hope he's not the one to eventually dethrone AJ. An alternate TNA timeline where the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship isn't trapped in the orbit of Double J would be fun to experience. But I can see the value of Jarrett doing the babyface chase in Nashville. It will definitely go a long way in getting heat for Styles. Their pre-taped confrontation before the Anniversary main event was good business. I thought for sure you'd have AMW pull off the tag title win with Triple X defending the titles minus Low-Ki, so that victory surprised me! But once the STEEL CAGE challenge was laid out... I realized what time it was lol. I'm really enjoying scumbag Sabin. He's so easy to root against, especially against an endless array of X-Division challengers.

3 Live Kru were so cool man. But I'm getting tired of seeing Kid Kash little ass get the best of them! If a 3v1 stomp out took place I would audibly CHEER at this computer! I hope you manipulate the puppet strings to keep CM Punk in the mix for a long time, even outside of The Gathering. It would be cool to see his rise up the ranks continue here as well. Raven is the man as far as I'm concerned. Anything he does on this show will have my interest. Him in the ring with Sting was a unique closing visual. I'm curious if you'll keep Sting to rare appearances like irl, or we going full time early?

I seem to get stuck in patterns of write write write -BREAK- read read read -BREAK- .... you get it. But as long as you keep positing here I'll keep coming back!
