- PWInsider.com is reporting that Rey Mysterio has asked for his WWE release following Wrestlemania where he is scheduled to take on Cody Rhodes. Rey and Vince have not seen eye to eye in recent years as McMahon has been angry at Mysterio for requesting time off due to injuries.

Who knows how much truth there is to this, but with Mistico coming in Rey really doesn't have a lot of leverage. He's still a asset, but if there looking to draw in the latino fan base they have more options in guys like Del Rio and Misticio when he comes in.

Wow this is pretty huge if true which I hope it isn't. While Cara will replace him losing Rey will still be a big lose esp since it would eliminate the chance of the big latin super match of Rey vs him.

Saw this 2 days ago. False rumor. Shouldn't even be acknowledged imo.

Bullshit. Rey isn't leaving until he physically can't do it anymore.

Why would you want a wrestler with a bigger move set than headlock, suplex, leg drop and punch combinations to leave?

It's funny you say that, because to me Rey's one of the worst offenders with using the same shtick and having an illogical setup for his finish. I don't hate him, but the underdog gimmick can get really grating.

I'm with you on the underdog gimmick, 100%. But at any given time, especially in a PPV match, Rey-Rey busts out some serious moves.

I generally enjoy in all honesty. I find his feuds to be enjoying and his matches even more so.

He's so boring.. People talk about old people should leave, well, Rey's getting on up there and is not exciting.. At all. So please, Rey, please leave and DO NOT come to TNA.

He's boring? What makes him boring? Out of curiosity, who do you find entertaining?

I respect your opinion as I will respect anyone you list and know I'm not looking for a fight in the slightest (if you wanted to argue your Lebron sig, then yea, we'd probably come to a fight) but as far as wrestling goes, I respect anyone's opinion. I just want some insight, that's all.

Reys the best match worker on the roster. He still has a lot to do before he retires in terms of developing younger talent etc.

Will be legitimately sad when he leaves.

I have mixed feelings about Rey. The underdog thing makes me cringe at times and he doesn't show a lot of personality. But i think he's proved time and time again (especially with Jericho last year) that, from an in-ring perspective, he is still very capable of putting on amazing matches. His match with Cody Rhodes at Wrestlemania should be awesome, so long as they don't give him five minutes again (or 30 seconds the year before that).

His leaving, whenever that may be, probably won't have much impact on me, especially with Sin Cara to take his throne. He spends a lot of time injured nowadays anyway. That's not to say i won't miss him a little though.

Rey tweeted

Confirming!Did not ask 4 release! those that like me, u will have Rey 4 a good time&those that don't, well life isn't always sweet,619 out!

Therefore I am now closing this thread as it is no longer relevant.
