In my opinion, it seems like everyone wants to be a "cocky arrogant heel". For the new guys who are thinking about joining up, please try to think of something original... It seems like there's way too many of the same gimmicks here as of right now. Just my opinion.

I actually dont think it matters so much how you bring your character into the fed, its how you develop the character into something unique. That of course takes work from both writers and roleplayers. The writers will come up with storylines for the guys, pushing the character into the direction they feel best for them. Then, the roleplayer sees the direction the writer wants from them and delivers a roleplay to suit that.

So while you say bring in original unique characters... it actually all comes down to character development.

Good point but i think aviles was trying to say that there are too many "Dolph Ziggler" kind of guys on the roster. tbh there too many heels on the roster as a whole imo

I agree, this is what I am doing with my character Nic Stone. I'm starting him off how I see him as of now and future feuds will determine the extent of his character. I feel my own character has more than just the 'cocky, arrogant' aspect.

Lol, my rep is Ziggler. Again kind of going into my own defense I see Nic Stone as a character of his own and the only association with Ziggler is the look. It is a little difficult starting out with a new character and having a whole unique personality. I feel personally that I am doing a good job of developing Stone in just two weeks.

That's my two cents and I do agree about the complaint in this thread but it's nothing to worry about. The characters set up will develop into something more and for the new guys thinking of joining maybe just add a little more to your superstar.

I agree character development does play a big role but I think you can atleast help by personalizing your character so the writers have atleast an idea. "Cocky, arrogant heel" isnt really a gimmick, its a personality. How far can you develop a character going just by that (obviously roleplays help) but having a more in-depth and orginal biography can only help the writers, it doesnt hurt.

The Character Development RP Board should play a big part, and even though it doesnt count towards your match for that week, its giving the writers as well as everyone else more details and information that can be used in angles, matches, etc...

For all the new guys who have just joined (and for those who are thinking about joining), just remember..if WWE was just Randy Orton type wrestlers, it wouldnt be very entertaining..unless you have a man crush on him or something.

Agreed with Marvel, when you make your character you pretty much give the outline of him by saying "cocky, arrogant" or whatever and then the writers of the show pretty much take it from there with the angles they give you and you add to it with RPs.

When I first started my character was face and the staff did there stuff and they turned him heel and pretty much gave him his character with the promos and things he was doing in the shows.

Although I do think more faces would be good, seems to be alot of heels around at the moment.

Does it change things if you're a cocky, arrogant, cowardly heel? ;)

Is Kane cowardly? Was Undertaker cowardly during his heel runs? Hardly. While the heel to face ratio could use some balancing out, if the heels do their jobs properly, they should stand out from one another.
