“I feel very fortunate to have been there for Bryan Danielson’s, probably, last match. Am I wrong to say he’s the best of all time? Is a man like me – who has watched Ric Flair, who has seen Shawn Michaels – wrong to say that Bryan Danielson is the best of all time?”

“I think he’s the best because of just being a number one guy, just being a stand-up great guy.”

“Tony Khan depends on him for a lot. He really is one of the best hires that we’ve had since I’ve been a part of AEW. I don’t know what else to say about him. He’s tremendous, he really is.”

He’s definitely up there so I won’t disagree

I kinda hate that he feels like he has to ask if it's an okay opinion lol I know it's mostly just his phrasing and he did stand firm on it but still.

I've heard plenty old heads call John Cena the GOAT without worrying about if people would be mad they didn't say Ric Flair or HBK, but he's on the Conrad network so I know Tony knows his listener base and why he needs to phrase things like that

I think Wrestling, because it is an art form in the end, what you determine to be valuable will determine who you think is the best. Like sure, you can look at "Who draws the most money" then point to Hulk the Racist, Cena or Austin, even Roman now. In ring wise, you like, you may point to Flair, Rey Mysterio, Vader, or Danielson, depending on what you like. Then there's the mic work, and moments. Maybe you think Rock's the Goat for his smack talk, or you are attached to wrestlers who gave you amazing moments that made you feel.

So the GOAT will be up to debate. But calling Danielson one of the best of all time, I think on multiple factors you can make that argument and I'd support it.

It’s always going to be a subjective opinion but I think he’s in the majority of wrestling fans Top 5/Top 10

Most wrestling opinions are fine just as long as you don't say Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, or Mick Foley were great in the presence of Ric Flair :kawhi

Bryan certainly is a very respectable pick, and has put on some of my favorite matches, and he also has pretty great character work which imo should play a great part into it. So Bryan definitely deserves to be considered in the GOAT conversation.

To me it's two folds. It's art and sport so it's so unique in that sense.

Danielson to me will always be one of a kind. He's very small and weird looking. Didn't matter because he was wrestling circles around people. He didn't swear, wasn't edgy, didn't really have gimmicks outside wwe, yet made you feel when he talked. The yes movement was awesome but even without it, without even any angle at all, he could make you feel. Outside of the ring on the mic, or inside the ring, in a match.

I genuinely do not think we will ever see another wrestler master every aspect of the game like him. Guys like ospreay etc are all future legends for their athletics and death defying spots. But Danielson made you care about the fundamentals and made you feel literally anyone of any size of any background can succeed if they work hard enough and want it bad enough.

there's been guys I've been bigger fans of,but no one has ever captured my emotions like the American Dragon.

Danielson was a true wrestling sicko in all forms of the word. Many exist that have his mindset, plenty exist that even have his skills, but there's very few that have both

he faked a seizure...to hide a broken arm. Then wrestled another 10. And won.

SICKO
