WWE is low key doing it with Roman. Building him to lose to a up and coming star or someone big.

Like I said, if this was TK’s plan and he stuck with it despite adding Bryan and Punk then good on him.

But this is what wrestling is built on. He’s not changing the wheel

I’d say there’s virtually zero way Vince knows who his next two champions are after Roman. And I’d say his reign feels very impromptu. He might be planning to drop it to an up and comer, but I’m not sure Vince knows who that is yet.

Idk man, I haven’t seen long term storytelling like this since probably the New Generation. That’s when Vince used to map out whole years and knew his next three champs, but I don’t think anyone currently does that anymore. I could be wrong, but if I were I’d feel like we’d have an inkling who is supposed to be beating him.

Agreed he's not changing the wheel though, he's bringing back shit that's worked in the past. Not a lot of his ideas are any sort of original and they all tend to have some nostalgia from various (vastly different usually) types of wrestling from the past. Hence the "wrestling nerd nirvana" term that's been coined

Yeah I don’t think anyone thinks he’s inventing new stuff but going back to shit they used to work and doing it again is great though and I still think is impressive because no one else is currently doing it in my opinion.

Even the YouTube shows are essentially WWF Superstars from back in the day lol Same general formula, less importance

And if he goes back to the studios it would be very similar to WCW pro as well.

He already does this for Dark, just makes exeption for when Rampage is live like the one you went to. They've had two tapings at Universal (The All Elite Zone as Excaliber puts it)

Nice. Yeah I’d say a combo of Saturday Night and Pro.

Yeah even new japan has fallen back a bit to hot shot booking when they were the gold standard in long term booking in prior years, suppose it can be cyclical. I 100% agree no one has been doing it in america in a long ass time. also agree its not a new or crazy concept, it's just that as a fan its awesome to be rewarded for watching

As someone who books long term in TEW(surely my WWE one I so on and off) it’s actually nice to watch a company do it.

Easy to know your champion for next 2 years when it is the same person for the whole two years. I doubt Vince even knows who is beating Roman at this point.

I know it's not the same but this is what I do in my BTB too :heston . Just makes sense to know where you are going.
It really does. Like game times l wise. I normally know what I’m doing like 7-8 months out at least. So I start building to that moment as soon as it’s what I know my end goal is

I’ve almost got a 5-year plan for one I need to post this lifetime.

I thought I was far ahead with a rough 2 years ahead planning with my thread (though unlike Khan my plans have changed a little over the years)
