Right now it’s neck and neck for me and depending on the landing it might top it for me. The only issue with Omega and Hangman is it took a few breaks and I don’t think it was as well calculated as this one, but still being a top two story when combining the genders is damn impressive. These will definitely be my two examples of AEW storytelling done right.
The only hiccup for me was Hanger needing parental leave n losing at the first ppv fight. I felt that woukd have been perfect if he won there .
I did expect it immediately when they left the ring and the overrun just started, but other than that, it was surprising to do it right away and I think it was perfect for her character because there was zero reason left to keep up the ruse. Turning immediately made the story coming out of the show was both her winning the owen and her attacking Mariah. None of the spotlight was on Toni helping her and her being her protege. She finally shifted the focus.

I originally wondered why they were starting with the Male Owen, but the moment I saw that turn, I was like this is the way, that had to close the show. When you had that final visual, not only Toni bleeding and Mariah having the smeared red on her face, but that psychotic look when she was staring down the cameras we faded away. That was the shot. We needed to end on.
