I’m sure Tony does make himself one of the boys and we can see the pitfalls of that from Easy E himself.

As long as the he handles the business end, though.

I’m telling y’all, this is a WCW move all over again.

there’s an old expression: “Those that don’t learn from history are doomed to repeat it”

Tony can’t even consider himself lucky enough to fail like WCW until he’s at least made AEW the number 1 for at least 83 weeks and then fumble the ball hard.

Meh. I look at Tony Khan pretty much as one of us, only his family is worth billions. :lol He loves wrestling, he didn't get into it for money or power or to make a career for himself. Until I see otherwise, I believe in him to take different ideas and viewpoints into account and do right by AEW's fanbase because ultimately Khan and AEW's fanbase kind of one in the same.

This is a fair point, I can't necessarily seeing him making "business decisions" that result in a worse product at least

Kinda sounds like bullshit to me. Vince's greatest success has come when he has given the fans what they want, and business tends to dip when he tries to force something to sell and the fans aren't buying it. For sure, Vince deserves all due credit for giving guys like Hogan and Austin the ball, but he's also fucked himself when trying to make Luger the second coming of Hulkster and pushing Reigns at the expense of virtually everyone else on the roster, when it was clear that a majority of fans didn't want either.

The Reigns experiment would’ve worked if fans weren’t butthurt that Bryan didn’t win the 2015 Rumble :side:

Though I guess if you look at the numbers, crowning Kofi, Seth and Becky last year didn't exactly help make things flourish either... :hmm:

Look... there are a lot of factors to consider. :lol

Well fuck us for wanting perhaps the greatest wrestler of all time to get the W. :swamps

TBF Luger was over though, at least with live crowds at the time. If they had even given him a short title reign from SummerSlam to the Rumble, then it's not like WrestleMania X couldn't have gone exactly as it did, but with Bret singlehandily winning the Royal Rumble and ending Mania as champion. It would have at least made Luger look like he could win.

I thought it was always known that Khan has had final say on everything. Cody and Tony were reported as saying they've got 1-2 years of TV & stories planned out and this was back last year.

EVPs have involvement and get a seat at the table but Tony has always had the final say.

Just another money mark who's going to use old angles and act like it's new......like anyone else in an efed.

A very expensive efed.

And lol at people still thinking Heyman is a master Booker.....this whole head of Raw creative should show what a dumbass premise that was.

Not sure if I would call Heyman a master booker. But its unfair to judge him on his recent WWE run. We all know that Vince filters it all, so its not like its totally Heyman booking.
