During an interview with Tony Hawk at GDC, the skateboarding icon told Joystiq that Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD works as an HD update of the first two games, and as a potential platform for more content. Robomodo and Activision could add levels from Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 and/or 4, it could be added as DLC instead of a new remake of those individual games. "The dream of doing this is we can throw levels from 3 and 4 and make them downloadable in this," Hawk said. "We can use this as a foundation and platform for that. I really want this to be a foundation we build on so we can do more levels, more skaters, more content that you can download because this is kind of revolutionary to do a franchise game as only downloadable." "We thought we'd start relatively small and just do the best of the first two games and hope to build from there," Hawk added, but it's just wishful thinking right now. We followed up with an Activision spokesperson who said "Activision will see how THPS HD does and go from there." But is it possible? "Yes, certainly," the spoksperson added.

Sounds good but too bad I don't play any skate games anymore or Tony Hawk, I remember the good old days back on PS1/PS2 though. The game was great back then and was always fun to play, I may look into it more if there is more news about it in the future. I hope they don't make the controls like SKATE.

Well if they are bringing back the old levels and I don't have learn techniques I don't care about then I'm all for it. Tearing up the original levels especially in 2 when they brought in manuals was some of the most fun I've ever had. Totally got hooked on the scoring system after that.

Tony Hawk games provide me with hours of fun, I could play it all day trying to beat my scores. I'll get amoungst this for sure.

Brought Tony Hawk ride about 4 months ago and have never bothered to even play it for some reason.

I've never been a fan of skater games, I played them a while ago but I got bored to quickly so I gave up on them completely. I only used Bam Margera when I played because I think the guy is a total badass but even seeing him smash his face off the ground a couple times, still didn't entertain me. I just never got into them but I sorta liked the Skate series, won't play them again but they did entertain me when I began playing them.

Playstation 1 was a decent console, I still have one just for the fun of it, I play it every once in a while, just for playing Twisted Metal though, love those games. I never did like the Skater games for it, PS1 had to be the worst console to play them on.

Oh god, It always felt very clunky with N64 controls so I don't know where that is coming from.

Yeah PS1 was far superior to the mutated beast that was an N64 controller. Also C-buttons for tricks? FUCK DAT.

The games were the shit on ps1. Loved THPS2. I heard the school level from that game might be included on this, but the THPS series really just needs to die. It had a great run, but the concept of the game just isn't very capable of evolving.

That school level is by far my favorite too, Cerbs. Going to the right at the beginning and getting on top the roofs perfectly was a bitch most of the time. Damn sure worth restarting over and over until you get it, though.

:lmao Yeah totally, I remember that too. My friends and I used to take turns trying to get the highest combos on that level, and if you missed that roof grind, you were pretty much fucked.

Used to put in the cheat codes for perfect balance and string together 1,000,000-point combos and shit. I forgot which game had the KISS concert, but that one was a rail-grinding fun house.

I think the was the first Underground, Cerbs. Those magical rails above the sky, Jesus Christ...

Other levels where I got a shit too many points on was New Jersey the first level on Underground which had rails you could just loop around the first part of the level and there was a certain part in an earlier Airport level where you could grind for hours just jumping from a bag carousal and escalators.

Ah, dude, I am so pumped for this game. Might buy an HD console just for this game. I've played and I've beaten almost every single Tony Hawk game. It was a past time for my girlfriend and I when we started dating.
