Back to the Bell Centre. UFC Canada's Director of Operations Tom Wright was a guest on Ringside Report Radio yesterday, and revealed a tidbit of interesting info regarding Canada's next UFC event. It seems that the UFC will probably be returning to the hometown of UFC welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre late in the year:

“We’ll do Vancouver on June 11 and then most likely we’ll be back in Montreal on December 10,” Wright said.

The first thought on everyone's minds when you hear "UFC in Montreal" is usually GSP. And all the talk surrounding St. Pierre lately is in regards to a possible title defense against Strikeforce welterweight champion Nick Diaz. Will it happen? Wright was quick to say that he doesn't know:

“Well I’ve heard about the Nick Diaz-GSP fight but it is too early (to tell),” Wright said.

There are obviously a lot of hoops to jump through to make that fight happen, but there doesn't seem to be anyone else on the horizon to challenge St. Pierre right now. Talk of an Anderson Silva vs. Georges St. Pierre superfight has quieted down lately, while the Diaz/GSP rumors have ratcheted up. If this fight was going to happen, Montreal would seem to be a pretty good place to host it.
