I might be comparing TNA to WCW again, but this is something that I've noticed after seeing all of the faces on impact.

How well does TNA build up their stars? outside of TNA's stars that used to be in WWE, do you think that they're built up nicely? There's a bunch of guys that have been in TNA that could be considered "home grown" like most of the guys who came up through the X Division, and guys like Abyss, AMW, LAX, Roode, and even the guys that left, like Killings.

Honestly, I don't think TNA does a good job with making newer main event stars. Usually, most of them are overlooked, like the whole entire X Division, or what it used to be. Most of TNA's home grown stars are used for the jobbers nowadays. One thing I also noticed is how quickly a push of a guy can fail. Guys like Kaz and Abyss are the perfect examples. Abyss was already a pretty big name in TNA, and he even had the NWA Title for a couple of months. But in the past year, Abyss really lost his value, and is being replaced as that big killer heel or face with the newer guys. It really is weird seeing someone who was NWA Champ a couple of years ago be used in meaningless tag matches.

and more recently, Kaz is someone who's push was basically ruined. from out of nowhere, he was picked out of Seretonin and became a face, being groomed to be the X Division's next big product. I think he was pushed way too quickly, even though he had good matches, it was odd seeing him in main event type matches when he was basically doing nothing for most of his TNA run. and of course, they killed the push completely when they did the Suicide thing.

one push that has worked was Samoa Joe. We know the whole story of him being a complete beast for 2 years, and we were just begging for him to become World Champ. I actually think TNA has made him into their face guy, someone who they would use as the big star. it might've just been a bit late on him becoming a Main Event star, but having him as one of the top draws in TNA is good for him. The thing I'm fearing is how he might lose credibility after his reign ends, because he's wrestled basically everybody he can.

AJ Styles has to be TNA's biggest success stories. He's been there since day one, and is already a pretty common name to people who aren't TNA fans. even though he's done everything, I really don't get bored with him when he's in the ring. He literally became a star because of the fans, and I might have to say that he is more popular than Samoa Joe.

So, what do you guys have to say in how TNA builds their home grown talent?

I don't think TNA builds up as many young guys as the WWE, yea...I said it.

The thing with TNA is they have a bunch of young stars on the roster who are ready for the main event, but they just can't get there because its already filled with guys like Kurt Angle, Sting, Jeff Jarrett, Samoa Joe, Christian Cage, AJ Styles, and Booker T. They are TNA's main stars, and they will be for at least another 2-5 years. The good thing however, is once the oldies decide to retire, the young stars who have been waiting for their shot will finally get a chance to prove themselves. Guys like The Motor City Machine Guns, guys like Jay Lethal, Sonjay Dutt, Consequences Creed, and even guys that are stuck in the mid-card at the moment like Abyss, Matt Morgan, and Rhino. Basically what I'm saying is I think TNA has built up their young stars just enough so that once the veterans retire, there will be young guys there to take their spot.

I really can't agree with you here, I think that's just optimism there. What TNA needs to start doing is pushing the younger guys now. I don't think that they're ready at all, even though they look great in their divisions, compared to the main eventers like Christian, Booker, Angle and Jarrett, they're looked upon like shit credibility wise.

most of the older guys are already at the end of their career, and some shouldn't be in the Main Event at this time in their career at all. what the vets should be doing is putting guys like Kaz, Styles, LAX, and all the others over, a win would change so many minds of the fans and set them up.

^ you make a good point. Lets see what happens, maybe step 1 of that process will start at Bound For Glory when Sting puts over The Samoan Submission Machine, Samoa Joe?
